I'm trying to make up for lost time. When I bought my Sportster new in '95, I really had my eye on a Buell. Picked up an S3T in the summer (so I could work on my sportster) and have been riding it everyday it is safe to. When I left this morning it was 30 degrees outside. Cold, but worth the effort to bundle up. | ||

Thing that's been keeping me off is patchy ice. Been below freezing with tons of groundwater for weeks and things keep icing over. Last night was above freezing, after a 50 degree day...so I rode. And BOY did it feel good!!! | ||

Cleaned off the desk (kinda, actually made new piles of seemingly important stuff)- found my large TWO sticker I custom-cut to fit over my XB taillight... and, a silver BMC 25th Anniversary patch. Plus, pics of me at Barber getting ready to flail on the 1125R for the first time. And, pics of my first camping trip to TWO. Dang. Nostalgia doesn't really blend with my sensibilities for Buell products of the past. I lived too hard, and good, riding a Buell to think that way. Dangit, when will we STOP looking back, and be able to grab the bars of the future and TWIST IT?! With patience, but about as much as Wile E.... | ||

It's hard to be patient, while eyeballing other bikes. The Buell is paid for. I'm anxious to buy another Buell (XB12R), but would like to see what they come out with first... but then again, I like the Z1000 and have even been considering a used ZX14. Hurry up elves! | ||

Instead of the ZX14, I'd definitely look at a new gen Connie. or the Yamaha sport-tourer. Someone here in Maryville is/was selling an early '90's SV1000N- there's another in Oliver Springs- if I had to have rice, that platform wouldn't be too bad. | ||

I just picked up a 2012 Ninja 1000. It's a fantastic bike. Reminds me a lot of my 1125CR with the high bars. A little more comfortable and more "sport touring" oriented. It's not the typically jap liter bike. It's very torquey and can be ridding like a twin. Shift at 4-5k and surf the torque. |
