Ok so as to me, I am good. I should be bruised and battered looking. Which I don't. Only show a couple scrapes, caused by the helmet lining and jacket armor. Helmet was a Seven Zero Seven, jacket Frank Thomas. That flimsy piece of back armor/padding, worked! impact load was spread across my middle back. Even that was just to the back of the rib cage. Caught the windshield just below my ribcage, may have stopped me from going over the car I hit. I did piss off the EMT at first. He got over it when he figured I had my wits about me. Started checking off the pain areas and levels. Six hours in the ER, some pain meds and a clean CT. Of course I had to puke while in the machine. Couldn't turn my body or head in the process. I must have looked like a little geyser. Puke, try and spit it out before the next round hit. At the scene of the incident... I actually had to grunt out a "call 9bleepin11" between wave of pain. I did the wiggle check and crawled to the sidewalk. I took my helmet off, removed my jacket... Was wearing my gear. Jacket and pants came out unscathed. Helmet sacrificed itself to save my noggin. It took a healthy impact on the left chin bar. Cracked in to places about about two inches apart. Did not fail though. |

Any one you can walk (crawl) away from is a good one, glad you're ok. How did you do it? I've been ATGATT for many years & I'm still here due to that. Hope you heal fast. |

I think Doz is offering... Heal up! What is the Trophy? Old school? 90's touring rig, or one of the new ones? |

The Trophy in question is a '02, last of the 1200 fours. SportTour type, very good road manners. Drop dead sexy bike if ya ask me, svelte and curvy. Told the wife if I can find another frog-eye(96-03) with a blown engine.... After giving it a good look over this afternoon. She will be road worthy again. Will take time to find good second hand plastics though. Most of the ebay stuff has already been thru the ringer. |

I love those 'old' Trophys! Hate to hear the world is down by one but glad you're ok. I rode the 1200's and 900's at Daytona one year and it killed me to walk away from that 900. It made such a beautiful sound and was a wonderful bike. It just fit and felt right, right out of the box. I don't blame you for wanting to resurrect it. |

Just an update Bike goes on the lift table tonight. First box of parts hit my door this afternoon. Mind you these are not 100% items. Mostly come from other crashed Trophys. Just lookin for those with no cracks or missing tabs. Cosmetics will get taken care of. As for me. Doing better every day. Still have two ribs that are extremely tender. Will be for some time. They really limit how much weight I can handle with my left arm. Also make it hard to rotate(twist ) my torso. |

UPDATE As for me... Healing has progressed very well. Mental as well as physical. Just a few niggling pains left, just enuff to let me know when I overdue it. As for the Triumph... back on the road as of today. Its in primer(replacement bodywork) and emerald green. Will get it painted at the end of the real riding season. *Putting the horse that threw you back together, is pretty good therapy for mind, body and soul. It felt good to throw a leg over and go for a short test ride. |

and I did go helmet shopping..... Its new, in the box and its a HJC FS-15 (Prism). Always liked my AC11 and AC10 lids. The FS was the successor to the AC12. I always liked the fit and finish of the high end HJCs. This FS is not a let down either. |
