Long story short, I took the front wheel off to get the bearings replaced. Due to the cold it has been difficult to work on the bike, it took me a few days to get the wheel off. Yesterday I started putting it back on but had to call it quits, then I go outside this morning to find the bike looking like that. |

I think your first step here is to find your axle. Then a shovel. |

Poor neglected 1125, out in the cold- gonna report you to the ASPCMC's! What Pwn said!!! Dangit, give Vern a PM about the basics of wrenching in the cold- he does it for a living... first thing would be one of those kerosene torpedo heaters or SOMETHING. |

Clean out your garage so you have a place to work. If you haven't used something for a while throw it in the dumpster and build some shelves for the stuff you need. Don't want to be so harsh but that bike should not be sitting outside rusting. |

Problem is the garage contains 4.5 more Buells and a Firebird, in addition to tools, random parts, tire changer, etc. Outside is the only place I currently can work. The axle is out of view but I have it. Perhaps tonight I'll get it threaded then figure out tightening it up next week. |

Move the bird outside, work on bike till it's done, move bird back. It's only going to get colder |

I know where there is a house for sale, featuring a 10 car commercial garage, at the rear of the property. |

All the major media outlets have this thing called a "weather report". Should of known the white stuff was coming. |

Get rid of the coffee table. You could prop your feet on the pegs. |

If you have the room in your yard, maybe one of these with a portable heater of some kind. I have had my mom with us since storm Sandy and I hate having to kick her outside to smoke so it will have a multi use. http://www.walmart.com/ip/ShelterLogic-8-x-8-ft.-S hed-in-a-Box-Canopy-Storage-Shed/19396400 |

Hmm.....maybe put on your big boy pants and go OUTSIDE and fix it. There are Billions of people doing way tougher jobs in a far more hostile environment everyday. |

sell the buells you don't ride. i had 3 and down to 1. it was not fair for them to be collecting dust. rather see someone on the road with them. also saves on insurance. |

Wish I lived closer to you - I'd have the axle in a torqued up for you in 7 minutes. This past fall I had accidentally mixed up the wheel spacers on my Triumph and the front wheel was not centered -handling was whacky. I rode home, took the wheel off, fixed the spacers and re-installed it and was back to work all during my lunch break - and in nice clothes, no less! |

They are all run by Fox News, that is why they lie to you and I. Unfortunately I made the mistake of hearing what they said on the radio and not checking into it myself, they said light rain. If I checked Weatherunderground I would of known it was going to snow and then planned accordingly.

Yea I have no way into the house even with a ramp, both front and rear entrances have steps going 90° from the door, then stairwells inside. I've seen what you are talking about before, it just wouldn't work great here.

I've been thinking of getting some kind of heater like that, I'll have to do more research. I doubt I can get the tentshed thing though.

Ok mom! :'(
quote:There are Billions of people doing way tougher jobs in a far more hostile environment everyday.
And that is their fault.
quote:sell the buells you don't ride.
I ride them all as long as they are working, they all have little things wrong but I am trying to get them all operational again. The bikes are not worth selling due to their low resale value. My insurance rate would not be really affected either unless I got rid of the 1125R.

Right!

Yea normally I can do it fine in a few minutes but time and weather have been working against me as of late. I don't have the free time I used too, making doing something as simple as installing a wheel take a week. |

Okay Froggster, we get it. You're a wimp and can't spend ten minutes in the semi-cold weather to put in an axle and can't seem to find room in the garage. But didja ever hear of motorcycle covers? While the idiot NY gov is whipping up silly gun laws he ought to make one against Buell abuse. Sheesh! Like the guy said, "Git 'er done!" G |
