For anyone that may be interested. The NRA is running a special on "Lifetime Memberships" for $300.00 instead of the standard $1000.00

Just went to nra.org. didn't see anything about this discount....a little sceptical to call this number...
Besides, not overly crazy about the way nra is reacting to every situation going on now.
That shooting "app" was very poorly timed.

Last I heard the lifetime memberships were discounted to $600.00. That is when I signed up for it at the beginning of the year. Was sent an e-mail with the link to go to for it.

I need more information before I call that non-NRA phone number as it might be a scam. I checked Snopes but there is no mention.

Otherwise, I am in.

Thank you for this non-motorcycle information. I will join tomorrow and I am passing this information to some of my friends. The NRA needs to grow its membership to combat the Chia tin-horn despots that are sprouting up all around us.

Remember Fast and Furious and Benghazi.

Didya see the new PSA the NRA launched today:

NRA: America Speaks For Itself
NRANews · 774 videos

When NRA suggested putting armed security in every school across America, mainstream media sharply criticized Wayne LaPierre — calling him everything from "laughable" and "tone deaf" to "whacked," "evil" and "out of step with America." Unfortunately for the media, America disagrees. Most citizens support armed security in schools — and the NRA, as evidenced by its 250,000 new members over the past month. So the media can go speaking for elites, but America will speak for itself. http://www.nrastandandfight.com

I will join tomorrow and I am passing this information to some of my friends.

Tom, if you haven't already done so, perhaps consider contacting your legislators via Ruger's new "Protect Your Rights!" campaign.

When D_Adams first posted up the link here on BWB last Saturday morning the tally of folks who had taken action via Ruger's campaign was a tick over 7000. I checked just now and the current count is pushing a half a million people.

That's a powerful message, I'm thinkin'.

Take care,
FB

quote:

Contact your legislators now!
At Ruger, our motto is "Arms Makers for Responsible Citizens." It is not just a slogan; it is genuine recognition that millions of law-abiding citizens use our firearms safely and responsibly every day. We are mechanics, doctors, teachers, police officers, firemen, nurses, factory workers, and every other occupation you can name. We are a vast and too-often silent majority ... and our rights are under attack.

Make your voice heard too!
Given the forces assembling against us, merely relying upon lobbying efforts is insufficient. Law-abiding firearms owners must stand up and be heard. This affects all of us, so we cannot stand idly by and rely upon others to fight on our behalf. Too much is at stake.

Step one: Please click on one of the buttons to the right for an easy way to tell your legislators you care about gun rights. The Take Action Now! button allows you to send a prepared email letter quickly and easily. The Find Your Representatives button has detailed contact information for each of your legislators so, if you prefer, you can call them or write them a more personal letter.

Step two: Get all your friends to help support our rights; ask them to click on the link and send letters too. Click here to email this web page to your friends.

More: Many elected officials have been looking for an opportunity to curtail our gun rights and think they can win now if they move quickly while emotions are high. In Washington D.C. and in state legislatures across the country, anti-gun forces are gathering and conspiring in an effort to pass bad legislation that goes beyond anything we have ever seen. At least one legislature is discussing making public the identity of all pistol permit holders, treatment typically reserved for convicted sex offenders.

Reality seems to be lost on these folks. Cities like Washington D.C. and Chicago, with some of the strictest gun laws on the books, are hotbeds of violent crime. Nationally, violent crime involving firearms has declined since the expiration of the Federal "assault weapons ban," while lawful ownership of firearms has increased. More lawful gun ownership, less crime.

To help your voice be heard, we have set up this special service on our website. By clicking on the Take Action Now! link, you can contact your legislators.

Please act now, before it's too late.

I obtained my $300 NRA lifetime membership using the phone number. It was quick and painless.

I also contacted the Ruger website last weekend.

The NRA needs a huge warchest to combat the Chia despots sprouting up. One of the main missions of the NRA is to elect pro-gun members to Congress. Those same candidates tend to be Conservative so it it a double blessing to give to the NRA.

I belong to the NRA. I like ALL shooting-sports and rights organizations, but none of them have the political torque as the NRA.

Partial evidence of this is how brutally the lamestream media treated the NRA after the Newtown, and the savage treatment of Wayne LaPierre by the feckless crotch-sniffing lapdogs from NBC, CNN, etc., etc.

Never let a good crisis go to waste, and the elitist bitches in DC and their minions in the MSM have worked this one for all it's worth, all the while guarded by people with guns.

I can think of very few organizations in the history of the United States that have fought so relentlessly, so consistently, and so honorably for our rights as American citizens as the NRA. I concur 100% with Strok: When he maligns the NRA, he's attacking me and my fellow Americans.

"Competition focused" is nice, but it's not the same as education, safety, training and unalienable rights focused. Most folks aren't aware of the NRA's true nature or history. In loyal adherence to their playbook--See "Rules for Radicals" by Marxist Saul Alinsky--popular media "journalists", pundits, and other leftist propagandists have made it their mission to demonize the National Rifle Association, a group of free Americans who see the vital value of our unalienable right to own and carry firearms. The truth is the opposite. The NRA is a wholesome education based, safety, training, and security advocate for all.

It's a shame that so many put partisan politics ahead of our core unalienable rights. Out one side of their mouths we hear intense emotional pleas for so-called "rights" to murder babies and the need to forcibly redefine the meaning of "marriage." Then in the in the next breath after ignoring the holocaust of 50+ MILLION brutally slaughtered babies in America, and the non-stop epidemic of disease among homosexual men, they expound on the "crisis" or "threat" posed by lawful firearm ownership.

Kill our babies; redefine "marriage" into a sick meaningless farce, and relinquish our right to most effectively defend ourselves!? Then we must hand over the hard-earned fruits of our efforts to the state, so that it may best look after us? This is the thinking we ought to support?

Evil is having its way with America. We may not yet recognize it or see it confronting us to our face, but if we can step back and consider what many value most, and the lies we've been sold in the name of "tolerance", it should become obvious. If it isn't, then truth has been hidden from us, replaced by deception. Seek truth. Prayer helps with that. Really.

Some assert that we must be more tolerant, but they are not tolerant of reasoning that opposes their ideology. They assert that we must tolerate the holocaust of abortion, and the idea that sodomy among men consummates "marriage", while ignoring the perfectly clear words of the core law of the land, "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". We should trust such grand "thinkers"?

If so, then clearly we ought to choose to support competitive shooting and the US Olympic Committee in lieu of any meaningful firearms rights advocate. We just ought not be surprised when our ability to practice and compete is infringed even to the point of being denied as recently happened in Great Britain.

I'm a new member of the National Rifle Association since this past July. My lifetime membership will be secured soon. I also just joined Gun Owners of America, a VERY capably led group, and I just sent a donation to the NRA's Institution for Legislative Action.

Olympic competition and shooting sports are nice. They are not involved much if at all in defending the people's rights to own and carry firearms.

One might just as well support the local bowling club.

Help defend liberty. Join and support a firearms rights organization and oppose those who aim to infringe upon our rights to own or carry firearms.

Gun Owners of America

I've been an NRA member for many years.

The media is in a frenzy over the anti-gun agenda like never before. I've never heard such blatant lies from the media and even the president.

The polls I've come across online are neck and neck on most gun law issues, and a vast majority are clearly against any new gun bans. Still, our voices are not being heard.

decisions...decisions... I really shouldn't do either but I am definitely considering. If anyone finds out if there will be a deadline for the NRA deal,..please post it.

If it is only about the violence then the NRA and any other organization like it and their members ought to join these anti-gun violence organizations too to show their support. I am pretty sure there aren't any "Pro-Violence" NRA members like some of these adds seems to project.

Participation in shooting sports helps "legitimize" firearm ownership in the general public's eyes. Did The Media "demonize" shooting in their coverage during the London Olympics? No, sir. We all love gold medals in the "USA" column.

Kim Rhode kicked butt. Thank you, USA Shooting.

Already a Lifetime member; after 20 or so years of being an annual-dues paying member, I took advantage of the discount/pay-over-time-lifetime-membership deal the NRA offered a few years ago. I sent the info on Gresham's deal to several people, though.
The NRA is about the only way I feel I have any political clout. At all.

With all due respect, this is not an alternative to the NRA. The above listed group is as stated a "competition focused" group. They do little to Nothing to protect your constitutional rights.
Without the NRA Americans would most likely have already lost any second amendment rights that we now enjoy.

Also folks, you don't have to be a "life member" to join the NRA. Annual memberships are very reasonable and you can make additional donations to the political victory fund as you feel appropriate to help with the "war chest" used to protect our rights.

P.S. If you are joining for goodies and magazines your head is in the wrong place.
