Still getting used to the new 2009 1125CR
Noticed the tach needle lights up bright red during sweep into redline when ignition is turned on and also when revved hard. Is that normal or should the needle always be lit up bright red? thanks Mort

Normal. In case you don't have an owner's manual, you can access it on-line here:

In a lot of ways, the 1125 and especially the CR edition were brilliant- to my knowledge, the tach needle going bright at redline was a Loki platform innovation. Plus, the Elves "debugged" the CR and refined it significantly beyond the R model... then, the mothership defenestrated BMC in all their wisdom.

Going forward, you'll find all the info and then some on the Badweb to learn about and love your CR. Lotta good peeps here!

Color me jealous!

I'm trying to remember back when I had my CR - I *think* it will turn bright red at a lower rpm on a cold engine as well.

it'll glow at any temp in neutral or clutch pulled in a revving past i think 5k then again at 10,5k for the low 'rev limit' it's just a reminder to take it easy with the throttle blipping because revving an unloaded engine is generally detrimental to its health.

I thought it would be a normal color, then get brighter as you reached top revs....neat idea.
