when does the impeachment start?

Oldog, the Chosen One has proven he's pretty much invincible. F&F didn't stick; when the flames finally got to HIS door, he invoked executive privilege.

Benghazi? Hah! What a masterful game of lying their collective asses off, repeatedly, long enough to move us along to the next crisis, ably assisted by the feckless lapdog mainstream media.

Dear Leader is above the law.

Heck, he DICTATES the law.

And the checks and balances built into our system of government have so far been unable (or unwilling) to slow him down.

The fear from the right in his first term was that he was waiting until his SECOND term to grab our guns.

Turns out we were, uh, exactly right.

In fact, he's technically still in his FIRST term, so on this issue I guess he's actually ahead of schedule.

He's on record as saying he's in favor of banning handguns. No, not "some" of them, "all" of them.

Period.

Constitution be damned (which, now that I think about it, seems to be his official motto in every aspect of his presidency).

"By the end of January" seems to be VERY important to the Pres and his minions in terms of beheading the Second Amendment. The iron is hot right now, but the press can only stoke the fires for so long before the public loses interest and needs yet another diversion.

Bite Me's comment yesterday to the effect of "if we can save but only one life, ANYTHING we ordain in terms of the Second Amendment is agreeable and acceptable and you WILL comply" is chilling.

Impeachment? Never gonna happen, amigo. The present administration is playing by a completely different set of rules, which bears little resemblance to the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Bastards.

That is an excellent column. Too bad it isn't written by an American however his actual history gives it even more weight.

Americans: Never Give Up Your Guns
Stanislav Mishin, December 12, 2012

These days, there are few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt and culturally degenerating USA, but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bear arms and use deadly force to defend one's self and possessions.

It was Aesquire's link. I was just copying it to give him some credit for finding it.

To the general tone of the column though ... it's like Ghandi said, the worst thing the British did in their rule of India was to disarm them. When a government does not have to worry about armed citizens there is really nothing to stop them from consolidating and strengthening their power and robbing you of your freedoms.

If this was really about gun control, why are they so fascinated with "assault weapons" when about 90% of all gun related crime is done with Handguns and about 3% is from Rifles. And Assault Weapons are a small sub-set of Rifles. Probably because the government themselves see little to no threat from Handguns and bolt action rifles.

Anyone who does not have a healthy fear of a scenario in which the only armed parties are the government and their various agencies / military branches is naive at best.

it is no longer 'gun' control - it is 'weapon of warfare' ..... And from the Public Health Board :
"There are many issues in society that need to be dealt with including why people feel marginalised, isolated and have mental health issues, but reducing the access to powerful weapons of warfare at a national level (not state based as people go across the border) is a necessary first step. "

I baited her with :
A necessary first step ....? Please describe the path and end game you believe is best for the 'nation'. Maybe 1) we should at first admit that the paths of the past are done, and should not be afraid to cast asunder the decrees of old generations - revere them no more 2) Embrace all that is now of transformation, of reform, that is evident of the reality that faces us today - that we must carve our own destiny from the reality we have inherited 3) Actively oppose and embattle those that would attempt to subvert reform, cast a light of insanity, anachronism, and juvenile fundamentalism upon them 4) Recognize that NOW is the time to abandon theory and to ACT boldly and with divisive decision..... Something like that ?

(they are the 4 Salient points of Lenin's What is to be Done as published in 1908)
notice how much they sound like the current rhetoric by the 0 and his minions.

Assault Weapons are a small sub-set of Rifles.

Nope. That's part of the propaganda.

There is no such thing as an assault weapon.

it is a unicorn. A pixie. anything you want it to be.

There IS a thing called an Assault Rifle. It is a selective fire weapon. It's a machine gun. You pull the trigger once and hold it and bullets spray. That kind of firearm has been under strict Federal control since 1934. ( Yes, in some states a Citizen CAN own a machine gun, but you have to pass a background check, get a Federal Permit and pay Federal Taxes on your machine gun. )

NO "Assault weapon" ban has ever had a thing to do with assault rifles. Not Clinton's not Cuomo's, not anyones.

Assault Rifles have nothing what so ever to do with this.

Assault Weapons are the name of whatever they want to ban. Period.

They lie to you.

I'm not big on Federal Reserve/monetary policy/paranoia/chemtrail/conspiracy theory stuff.

This has nothing to do with that. Handgun Control published their goals and methods back in the 1970's. ( Now the Brady Center to exploit a Crippled Guy )

It's public record that they WANT to take your guns, the WILL take your guns, and the only people they want to be armed are the police, the military, and their private guards.

City, the paranoia comment has nothing to do with you and your wisdom in cut and pasting the real, existing evil as written by Lenin.

I dunno about the Federal Reserve, But I know Assault Weapon is a name meant to scare you and it refers to whatever they want..... because it's NOT REAL.

They, this admin, The Gov of NY, THEY ARE REAL and they are going to exploit this and screw you all.

http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2010/aug/30/man-shot- sullivan-central-high-school/

I want you to notice the language. This is a combination of ignorance, and deliberate propaganda.

Cowan entered the school with a .380-caliber semiautomatic and a .25-caliber handgun in his back pocket, Anderson said. The sheriff said that after Cowan grabbed the principal, Melanie Riden, and pointed the semiautomatic at her head, student resource officer Carolyn Gudger pulled her gun on Cowan and moved the principal to safety.

Both guns he had were hand guns.
Both were Semiautomatic.
Both were designs over a century old.

Why was one a "semiautomatic" and the Other a "handgun"?

Ignorance/propaganda?

BTW. Cheers for the Deputies.

He said shotguns can have the stocks modified to m16 stocks that make them twice as lefal. Its crazy I can't bleeve they ain't bin band.

I do get a kick out of all the morons reporting the news, usually hearsay, and their references to different subjects they know nothing about, and won't take time to research, like how many bullets a weapon can carry. If it was just bullets, not cartridges, you'd need a slingshot to propel them. Now I am currently looking for a high capacity Wham-O. LMAO. And worse of all is every single politician just knows they are way smarter then any, in their words, average citizen of this country. SAD!

Cut and paste : sorry.

there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event.

http://www.usaprepares.com/guns/feinstein-list-of- 120-banned-guns-is-out

so the 38 special, 870 remi, are both covered. A wheel gun - not traditionally considered a 'semi automatic' but used by the police for decades.
the 870, my choice for ducks, clays, and home invaders - standard issue for as long as I had been in uniform ; it is one of the reason I like it - I am damn familiar with it.

both just headed for ban.
F- you, you f'n motha fn fr's

One wonders how many law-abiding gun-owning liberals are watching all of this and saying to themselves, "Damn, the conservatives were RIGHT about Obama all along!"

Folks are getting restless. One wonders if Obama already has "declare martial law" penciled on his calendar (followed by a round of golf, or perhaps another vacay in Hawaii...).

One wonders who would actually enforce martial law...

THIS is encouraging:

quote:

Kentucky Sheriff to Obama: No Gun Control in My County
AWR Hawkins, 11 Jan 2013, 6:08 AM PDT

Jackson County Kentucky Sheriff Denny Peyman is making it clear that no law that violates the Constitution will be upheld in his county.

quote:

"My office will not comply with any federal action which violates the United States Constitution or the Kentucky Constitution which I swore [to] uphold."

How can these gentlemen DEMAND anything?

Well, that's a dumb question, actually; they can demand all they want. Let me put it another way.

What exactly is it that these fellas can actually DO to change things for the better besides to try and educate and motivate us??

I mean, they can't actually call the pres and tell him what he can or cannot do, right??

He is, to put it mildly, PISSED OFF!!!

So am I.

But, aside from venting our frustration and trying to educate and motivate folks, what can we do?

Before anyone answers, please choose your words carefully; this is a public forum...
