Course,to go forward, you have to be in reverse. Not in production..but kinda cool.

Looked like it was rolling forward to drive that way.

I kinda liked this one myself.

They were made by the Snowmobile Company in Ossipee, NH. They were sold to Ford Dealers who installed the snowmobile kit on Model T Fords. They cost about $400.00 about the same as the cost of the Model T.

I wonder what all tire sizes they work with?? It was kinda sad to see them rubbing on the front air dam under the bumper...... I had a buddy with a set of Mattracks for his hummer and they really do sound that way on the hard pack, LOL

I dunno but it looks like the same exact thing I was driving through in my 1990 Toyota on Saturday night.
Theirs seems to sink in less though.
My old pickup is THIRSTY churning through that crap too. It's a 3.0 V6 and in about 70-80 mile round trip it drank about 2/3 of a tank.
I love looking in the rearview and seeing the divots from the differentials.
(not to mention the tools in their "SUV-style" $60,000 minivans creeping along)

I would be interested to see what would happen if the 7000 pound truck ran across a snow drift that could not be seen, like across a ten feet deep ravine.

Would it stay on top of soft drifted snow.....or sink out of sight until spring?

That is not the case if you watch the video, the wheels still rotate forward.

I've seen things like this years ago, but as awesome as they look they are always freaking expensive.

OK,did some more looking and it looks like the tire drives a 'a pair of drums' that drive the track..which would make forward.......forward.....
