Aren't these the guys who told us that the Bush tax cuts were just for the wealthiest Americans who didn't really want a tax cut anyway?

yes. And the rich that stood by the White House this admin telling US that they could pay more taxes, don't. In fact they go to great trouble to avoid taxes and are paying bonuses this year to avoid next years tax increase.

Who? Buffet, the leaders of Google, Costco, etc. etc. I'll bet you none of them paid a penny more than they could get away with. Google alone put 20 billion offshore to avoid taxes here.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-12-10/rich-gain -as-companies-seek-to-beat-obama-tax-increases.htm l

Then there are Baracks' tremendous foreign policy wins. He's the real facilitator on the REAL "war on women".
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/12/10/us-sending -20-more-f-16s-to-egypt-despite-turmoil-in-cairo/? intcmp=obinsite

Good news for Boeing, and f-16s can't be used to rape more women. Just slaughter villages and neighborhoods that protest against the new Pharaoh. Oh, yeah, and Israel.

in the Bloomberg article above...The money won’t have much impact on consumer spending or economic growth because the wealthy are more likely to save rather than spend it, said Michael Feroli, chief U.S. economist for JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York.

“If they really wanted to spend, they would have spent by now,” the former Federal Reserve economist said.
If I have a pile of cash, I might put some into gold, but why on Earth would I invest it when the President says he'll take it in taxes? I'd be better off putting it elsewhere the gov can't get it.

Off to the poetry corner...

ODE TO THE WELFARE STATE

Father, must I go to work?
No my lucky son.
We're living now on easy street
On dough from Washington.

We've left it up to Uncle Sam,
So don't get exercised.
Nobody has to give a damn--
We've all been subsidized.

But if Sam treats us so well
And feeds us milk and honey,
Please daddy, tell me what the hell
He's going to use for money.

Don't worry bub, there's not a hitch
In this here noble plan--
He simply soaks the filthy rich
And helps the common man.

But father, wont there come a time
When they run out of cash
And we have left them not a dime
When things will go to smash?

My faith in you is shrinking, son,
You nosy little brat;
You do too much damn thinking, son,
To be a Democrat.

And so the Socialist creep rears its ugly head. You were warned, that the PPACA was only the first step.

"Making America healthier will require action at all levels of society. Individuals, communities, health care, businesses and unions, philanthropies, and local, state and the federal government must work together to improve our nation’s health. Although medical care is important, our reviews of research and the hearings we’ve held have led us to conclude that building a healthier America will hinge largely on what we do beyond the health care system. It means changing policies that influence economic opportunity, early childhood development, schools, housing, the workplace, community design and nutrition, so that all Americans can live, work, play and learn in environments that protect and actively promote health. And it means encouraging and enabling people to make healthy choices for themselves and their families."
(From the Commission that pushed the bill to begin with)

And you are not smart enough to do it yourself - so we will provide the shining path of illumination to the glorious Utopia
yadda yadda yadda

Let's look at possible solutions rather than harp on obvious problems.

The obvious problems:
Too many people are too fat and out of shape and getting sick and being a drain on the nation's health system.

I know how to get into shape, by exercising and eating right. And I know how to teach this to my son. So does my kid's school, although I don't see many kids following what they are being taught. So, what is the big societal change that would need to happen to cut down obesity and its related, expensive health problems?

Do we re-institute a year of national service for all youth (boy, did the Marines work wonders on my overweight nephew!)?

What will work to get people to be responsible about their health - to realize that personal responsibility relates to communal responsibility, in that we all end up paying the price for the obesity and disease of others?

I'm not picking on fat folks - I have to work very hard to keep the pounds off. I would just like to hear some positive ideas, rather than just pointing out problems with what is being proposed by gummint commissions, NYC Mayor Bloomberg, and the like.

Everyone has the right to be fat and out of shape... until it affects others adversely.

^^^^ working on it - the only way you keep up on these twits is to read their mail, the publications, their bills, and their 'commissioned reports'. Be well read - you know our Representatives and Senators aren't.

With that knowledge then you can arm yourself against what is coming

and what they mean by societal change - food rationing, regulating of type, amount, and 'approved sourcing' - that they will control ; and tax.
The IRS is already looking at a FAT Tax - ie pay what you weigh

interesting times ahead

Team Obama still raising money--off Sandy Hook shootings
Quote
They won the campaign handily and even had $14.2 million to spare, but the Obama-Biden campaign is still raising money, this time off the president's comments about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Connecticut.

In email from chief campaign advisor David Axelrod that urges supporters to watch President Obama's moving address to the community of Newtown, Conn., there are two links that open a page with a video player featuring the president's speech and two donate buttons asking for $15-$1,000 for his campaign.

"The next chapter begins today. Stand with President Obama for the next four years," headlines the donation page.
While he links to the donation pages in his email, Axelrod did not mention donations with his words. Instead, he expresses the horror the nation feels about the shootings. "Our hearts broke on Friday as we learned of the tragic and senseless deaths of 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut," he wrote. "As we reflect on the lives lost last week, we must also, as the president urged, consider how each of us can play a part in making our country worthy of the memory of those little children."

But above and below a picture of Obama giving his speech are two links to the donation and video player page. One reads, "Watch this speech." The other reads "http://my.barackobama.com/Newton". Clicking the picture also directs supporters to the video player and donation page.

Obama critic and blogger Jeryl Bier wrote, "Not one, but two buttons - two opportunities to donate to the Obama campaign. Not to the Red Cross, or to a memorial fund for the children and adults killed in Newtown. How hard would it have been to shift the focus, disable the buttons, for just one email, just one blog post? But the show must go on."

Guns are now a virus and your disclosure of ownership of them will be elemental to your treatment. Go look to the DSHS / HHS intake form. There has been for over ten years a question about 'Is there a gun in the house'

I made a stink about it in 2005 when I first saw it - I was told that if I did not fill out the form completely I would not be seen.
They are now going to start ramping up Community Counselor visits for patients that have guns - you know for public safety.

And of course Barry was on TV calling for the ban of Weapons of War.... a gun that could be issued or issued to soldiers - should be banned.
It took Lenin a full year after NEP to grab guns - looks like Unkle Barry is ahead of schedule

I was listening to talk radio coming home from work. A guy that now lives here in SE Wisconsin is filling in for Mark Belling (this guy used to live in Brooklyn, love that tone).

He was saying that after only one week, we know more about Adam Lanza, the shooter in CT, then we've ever known about BHO before he was elected President in 2008.

Ironic, don't you think?

a family owned medical supply company that has been in business for 18 years - sold off its inventory and closed its doors. The 2.3% tax across their entire inventory was too much for them to manage - for the last week, cash only - NO medicare, no Medicaid. They are done.
The other DME supplier in town - a regional multistate conglomerate - says that they will sell off their inventory and then will only do Oxygen refills, no more equipment rentals or sales.
It hits a retirement town tough- the senior centers are no longer accepting Medicare patients - come with cash or commercial insurance, or don't come at all.
The regional VA home has a wait list over 400 deep.

Hello 'Reform' it only gets worse from here.

Obamacare has now affected others adversely. By Fahren's standards, it has to go.

Thank you, Fahren, for leading the way.

True, it's a slippery slope when used by evil men, but a worthy tool when used by us. ( assuming we are willing to use evil's ways to gain our own. I think THAT"S a slippery slope too, Something from the Bible? 1001 nights? )

RE: Bloomberg, pop purchases.
1. the mayor admits that anyone can just buy 2 16 oz sodas instead of 1 24oz one. So he KNOWS it's a "feel good" bullcrap regulation that will do NO good.

2. I happen to drink 20oz sodas. My body, my choice.

I choose bottles that reseal because I can drink one slower before the fizz dies, and I am clumsy and it cuts down on the mess when I knock over a can.

Recently a local store had a sale on 16oz bottles. Bought a case. My consumption both # of bottles and calories went UP. Various reasons for that, but basic is that the smaller bottle is used faster and the next opened when a larger bottle would last longer and the next left unopened.

Unintended consequences? Not to the soda makers. They KNOW that smaller unit sizing costs more, can be charged more for, ( you pay for packaging and convenience ) and are more profitable. ( look at the unit pricing on various size beverages )

Bloomberg doesn't care as long as he looks and feels good.
Bloomberg can kiss my shiny metal......

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/obama-to-boehner-y ou-get-nothing-i-get-that-for-free/

My proposal.

Give the Prez what he demands and will accept nothing less. He ran on class envy and hate, and he's going to get the taxes if he has to kill you.

So. My proposal.

15% tax hike on all Americans Earning more than $250,000. Does not apply to small business filing as individuals.

Debt ceiling increase of 1.3 trillion dollars allowed for 2013, none for each year after. If they can't cut spending, the gov. shuts down until they do. 2014 will be balanced. Period.

If the Senate & President don't do a budget this year, we return to the 2008 budget. All hired by Obama are fired, his staff budget drops to 2008 Bush levels, His vacations go completely on his dime. ( he's a millionaire after all ) Congress goes on a budget diet for it's own facilities, with only basic housekeeping, security left. No spas, cafeterias, ( other than those for Security and housekeeping, Congress CAN go there, and pay full price ) or ANY perks. No govt. planes, junkets, period.

Austerity begins at the top.

In by 2015, the budget is not balanced, all congressmen and the President are airdropped in the mountains of Afghanistan, without chutes, and Biden becomes President, but only as a figurehead for SNL. We have new elections, and every Congressman must pass a background check at least as good as used for gun purchases.

If that doesn't work, we ask the Chinese to Nuke DC after we move the contents of the Smithsonian.

"Guns are now a virus and your disclosure of ownership of them will be elemental to your treatment. Go look to the DSHS / HHS intake form. There has been for over ten years a question about 'Is there a gun in the house'"

At a presidential debate, Obama was asked about achieving gun control. He said, "Enforce the laws we've already got. Make sure we are keeping the guns out of the hands of criminals...[and] those who are mentally ill."

That'll be all of you then .

The Duchess:
I quite agree with you. And the moral of that is: Be what you would seem to be, or if you'd like it put more simply: Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.

Alice: But I don't want to go among mad people.

The Cat: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.

Alice: How do you know I'm mad?

The Cat: You must be. Or you wouldn't have come here.

As an addendum to Penn's rant above.

Barack was against Gay marriage when he ran in '08. He was against Gay marriage until a critical point in his re-election campaign in 2012. Then he blamed his so called change of heart on his Daughters!

Some will tell you that Barack himself is Gay. I dunno, he's pretty darn pretty. Very metrosexual, so it could well be.

It could also be just a dirty attack on Barack by evil Republicans who KNOW that the bible belt folk who normally would be fooled by Barack's phony compassion ( he really, really has contempt for most of them, and us. ) would turn on him if they knew he was different.

Skin color in America only bothers a tiny minority of red neck right wing extremists. Also A huge minority of leftist main streamers.

But Sexual Identity is still a dangerous subject for those not utterly "normal". Not hollywood normal, not NYC normal. Despite the noise and the grip on media those places have, they are a tiny minority in a very large land.

I'm not saying that a Gay can't get elected President. I'd have no problem with a gay guy, gal or trannie that agreed with me on the goodness of a Constitution that limited government both in spending and messing with our lives. But some folk would have issues.

Barack knows that. So gay, straight or faking it, he knows his place is in the Closet at least until he has no task he needs support on. ( like re-election or crapping on the R's to get his way ) Judging from his record....on HIS record, Both school, and financial, he'll do anything to keep us from knowing he's a cokehead bath house guy. His Closet door ( assuming he's not actually straight... ) is welded shut.

And that may be why all you gay folk had to wait that long to get approval from him.

( tomorrows rant will be on how G W Bush was an idiot for not vetoing the last budget Obama voted for...
