Grand Funk Railroad I'm Your Captain. This was a popular song when I was in the Army. Especially the closing line "I'm getting closer to my home."

While the NHL lock out might be a disaster for some we here in the AHL world are jumping up and down. No call ups and we even get to see some of the big leaguers on the ice. Here's to the season's home opener this Saturday for our Houston Aeros, let's drop the puck. I've been playing around with the you tube API to make a few video juke boxes for the front page of my site. www.davidcohen.co and click on the 'MUSIC' link. Some of the concerts are good. The Stevie Ray and Albert Lee session is primo.

Got to see James McMurtry at the Shed again tonite, for the last 45 minutes or so... Afterward, I got to hang backstage for a bit watching the LSU game with the band and my old boss... McMurtry finally came in and sat down next to me, watching the boob tube with us all... I left shortly after the end of the game, shook his hand, and thanked him and his band for their work. Bought a beer koozie earlier, but I'll remember to buy a good Rioja or something better for the man next time I see him. Life doesn't suck too bad. Didn't get to hear this one, it's probably too far back from his current stuff, but... And... this is just a youtube of the original song, but really probably my favorite...
