less than 50 days till 2013 and the Honda thread doing so well and the political threads creeping back in. I think we are in sore need of an EBR announcement of some sorts!!!
Any bets on when and what they will be?
I am hoping for a detuned version in a Uly like setup and also a new replacement for the CR what about you?

I think we are in sore need of an EBR announcement of some sorts!!!

Amen to that.

At this point we know there will be a 2013 RX, SX, and AX each based on the 1190 engine, and that the RX will be a sport bike, the SX will be a naked, and the AX will be an adventure bike. Source: http://www.motorcyclepowersportsnews.com/Item/1049 03/erik_buell_racing_expands.aspx

And we know EBR has $20M to work with, in addition to whatever other cash they've collected. Source: http://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/print-edition /2012/07/20/buell-is-back-20m-in-foreign-capital.h tml?page=all

And we've got a list of cities where dealerships hav signed up: http://www.ebrdealer.info/list.htm

I'm thinking we'll get some kind of announcement from EBR themselves before much longer.

I'm afraid that if it's liquid cooled I'll not likely be very interested.

I know all the technical arguments & all that, but it's a gut-feeling thing for me, I just don't like wet engines in a bike, don't want pipes & radiators & pumps & sensors all over the place.

I loved the simplicity of the tubers, it took me a long while to warm to the XB platform, in fact not til the STT came out.

I loved the handling & performance of my Super TT which was way more capable than me.
When it got written off in May I was annoyed but not that much, as it never grabbed me emotionally as the M2 did.

I've had very mixed feelings about what to replace the TT with, Uly possibly or XT, but I've a "been there done that" kind of feeling with XBs.
The 1125 left me cold, even though it's performance is way above the air cooled predecessors.

If Erik can bring out a clean looking Uly replacement which doesn't have awful great pods to house the rads, I might overcome my wet motor hate.

Until then next bike's probably a Guzzi.

Wishing EBR the best, but I'm not sure they will have anything that really excites me much for quite a while. My XB provides plenty of go and I don't feel the need for more. One thing I like about the XB is that it's fairly good on gas. I wish there was a bit more focus on this with bikes. Many bikes can't match the MPG that some cars manage while delivering adequate performance. With a wife that rides, I really think more about this. When we take a bike trip, our fuel cost is probably 75% to 80% higher than taking the SUV! I don't mind the technology that Grumpy seems adverse to. I understand his POV, but the technology can deliver great benefits too. I'm more interested in a 750 using technology to deliver a balance of performance and economy over an 1190 with any leaning toward performance at all.

Then again, there are some rumors of exactly this sort of thing being worked on with HERO.

We need something to get our spirits up for sure. I really don't like riding my Buell/Harley product anymore. Not that my Uly isn't a great bike but the fire went out back in 2009. I am also leary of taking it on any long trips given the fact I have more spare parts under my seat than any "dealer" has on the shelf. I always feel like I should hook the trailer up before I head out just in case I need to have my wife come pick me up. I'm ready for a new ride!

yes, winter and politics suck; winter at least ends every year.
On the plus side - winter also makes some of the best MUD.

I think it's almost getting to late for introducing new motorcycle models for next year. The IMS has already started their shows and if you want to get motorcycle exposure, that's the best place to get it at.

I understand they're a small operation, but releasing a bike for the masses has taken WAY too long. Hell, I moved onto Triumph 7 months ago, and we STILL don't have any news.

Grumpy, I hear about the emotional tie. My S3 meant way more to me than than XB or 1125, but that 1125 sure is one sweet mill. A little overkill for the street (hard to stay out of trouble), but a wonderful engine none the less.

I imagine EBR will do marketing VERY differently from the HD days, but I have NO idea what that'll turn out to be. Until the Buell closure, HD & Buell introduced new models in July of each year (at least since the early 2000's). I noticed the new HD's didn't come out until September or so this year, Who knows maybe EBR will roll out their 2014 models in January?

I do wish SOMEBODY in the know would drop us at least a hint.

Could we be looking at a smarter company? One that did more research in financially challenging times. How many of the Buell owners that have liens on their machines will wait till they can keep their current bike before they swing the next loan. What is the trade in value of your or my XB. Sure, there are Buellers that can just buy a bike when they want. I am happy for them, and wish they didn't feel like they would loose their place in the Buell brotherhood if they admitted that they were able to afford a new bike. I've known some comfortable people. I never thought less or more for them because of it. Unfortunately, some judge others on how much they have. I noticed that no one drove up on an 1190 at home coming. There were owners there. Calm down, I'm not outing you brothers. I guess my point to be; that some have jumped brands because it was time for another bike, and the 1190RS isn't right for their daily ride. But, I don't know that the pockets are ripe enough for the harvest yet.

You got a point but more NEW Buellers is what I was thinking about more buzz about the company instead of the inevitable "well it's been nice but" threads that are all to frequent nowadays. I agree with you on many of us old schoolers but the 1190 has only 100 of them to their credit and they are $40K probably won't see very many ever maybe on a track or mothballed but the new price is supposed to be much more appealing to the masses.
I am Buell forever as are many of you I would just like to see something out there again you know.

I don't know guys. I haven't ever talked to anyone about what they owe on their bikes, and I am not sure how to even guess at that. I don't think that EBR has any leg up on that either.

For my part, I would like to see the new bikes out there or at least pictures of them. I would like an 1190 naked bike. I have several bikes with glass out in front. I don't really need another one. O.k., well maybe I do but I just want to get a feel that they are moving into production and stable. Then I will buy. I guess I could get a RS, but the same considerations apply about the future there too. I suspect there are a lot of people in the same boat. Waiting for the next development.

While there will always be people walking in the front door of a dealership who have never owned an American motorcycle, and some of them will buy. There are always potential customers. The same influences work on the Family too. The faithful who are looking for a new bike will buy one rather than waiting. If no EBR's available, none sold. I would hate to see Buellers moving on but I figure that will happen at some point.

Hugh has done a lot of work finding the information that is out there. But at some point, something has to come from the mothership and that is what people are waiting for. The KTM folks in the thread are doing just exactly that with the 1290 Superduke, and I imagine that there are people saving their pennies to get one now that they have seen one.

Too much dirt bike for the street, and too much street bike for the dirt.

Buy a KTM 450 for $2500 and make it street legal, or stick with something like the Uly and wrastle it down a dirt road. Or better yet, buy both.

Wolf, you are welcome to drive down and take the KDX-200 for a day... A 250 pound dirt bike for a day in Ohio or Kentucky woods is a really liberating and revealing exercise.

Any more thoughts about bailing out of C-Bus?

I would love to leave C-Bus but reality slapped my wife and I in the face. Even tho we are doing pretty good in the money department... I/we will have to work until we die. Health insurance is the biggest concern we have. We are in chill and squirrel away as much $$ as we can. I have had to quit going to the Jeep forums and I'm having a hard time staying away from the dirt bike store/craigslist/cycletrader sites.... and the Humane Society website as well.
I'm headed home for Turkey day and I'm sure it will be discussed further.

I would love to do a "TWO"ish type campsite but I don't think I could get the wife on board with that...

Reep, I may have to take you up on that!

I just got a Yamaha 125 4 stroke if you can talk your wife into going as well. Very easy to ride.

The KDX has (or could have) the Ohio sticker if you want to take it up near Irontown. The yammy doesn't. But either could do Big Rock and New Vienna. And I've never been checked at Pike Forest.

I'm sure someone at EBR has the designs for the canceled Buell 450 dirt bike in their head if not on electronic media or paper. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like that turn up in EBR's catalog in the next few years.

Interesting- EBR has a page for Australia. Their page seems to be a little more positive about the release of future models. For the Future Models RX, SX, and AX drop down menu, each says "Coming Soon".
