Nevada stays put watching AZ nothing happens as no one want's to live in the desert as a war would most likely disrupt power and water. Meanwhile CA with its large population starts cutting towards Texas . Eatern seaboard meets in the Carolina and Illinois and Ohio troops head towards TN. I left out all of the north western Red states as if you add them all together we have more people in Cook County. They would be cut off from the rest of the states fairly quickly. Now the fun starts. I'm taking bombing out of the equation as ground war seems more fun. Nukes are out as that would be dumb. | ||

Mac in all seriousness red states lost the damn election. Man teh F up and deal with it. either by popular vote or electoral college Obama won fair and square. When Bush won I didn't sign a petition to secede. Nor did i want to move to Canada. | ||

If I was talking to a black person who was expressing concerns about intolerance related to their race and belief system, and I told them "you are full of %^&%" or "man the ^&^% up and deal with it", I would hope my good and trusted friends on this site would be lined up slapping some sense back into me. Funny how that suddenly becomes OK when perpetrated by a liberal democrat and directed at a white fiscal conservative constitutionalist though. Dear left... fiscal and constitutional conservatives are now officially an oppressed minority. There's an alternative scenario in my mind. Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma, Arkansas & Louisiana leave the Union, & confederate to annexe Mexico. They can call themselves Texaco, catchy name huh? Everywhere North of Texaco & west of the Mississippi can join Canada. Likewise East of the Mississippi but North of the Ohio River & a line due east to the coast from Pittsburgh. South of the Ohio & East of the Miss can become part of the West Indies & knock over Haiti & Cuba on the way. Just leaves Alaska & Hawaii, which is pretty easy really, Alaska is already part of Canada & Hawaii already has a Union Jack on it's flag & can join the Commonwealth too. What do you reckon?  | ||

Drkside, you really don't get it. I never said he didn't win fair and square but there is a large percentage of the country that is unrepresented. That's not a good thing. I don't want to secede and I certainly don't want to move to canada but making a large percentage of the population feel disenfranchised isn't a winning formula. I'll still go to work every day and I will still produce and contribute to this society FAR more than most people that voted for Obama. My concern and my issue is that I have a 2 year old son to care for and I don't think there will be much left of the American Dream after Obama and his cronies get done with their grand design to reshape it all. We now have very small portions of the country making decisions for everyone else and their common refrain is "who cares, their just a bunch of inbred red necks". Am I to believe this trend will change? Will the votes of those that don't live in large urban centers suddenly increase to the point of being more than those urban centers. Probably not. So am I faced with a future of more government decisions heaped on me based on decisions of people thousands of miles away who know nothing of my life, my concerns and my goals. Why should I find that future exciting? But I shouldn't be surprised someone from Chicago would have a hard time grasping all that. | ||

I would hardly call conservatives 'unrepresented' in the GOP House. Nor would I call conservatives 'unrepresented' in the newly elected NC State Legislature either. Just because the GOP didn't sweep does not mean you are doomed. How many voters dud you personally register? How many phone calls did you make yourself? How many local candidates did you talk to? Despite what some rather naive individuals believe... Posting on an internet forum is taking the easy way out. I don't feel like the GOP had a decent ground game. The Democratic staffers I know worked 100 hours plus a week, which amounted to slave wage labor... Or at least around 3$ an hour. What are you personally going to do different in 2014? | ||

How many voters dud you personally register? If you meant "did" I'll be honest and say I got three to register, and even took them to the polls. I don't know how they voted either. How many phone calls did you make yourself? None, I don't phone. How many local candidates did you talk to? Several, most of the ones pertinent to my location. I worked for Herman Cain, free of charge. Posting on an internet forum is taking the easy way out. Then please stop taking the easy way out. 1. Out of Iraq. Check. Still in Afghanistan. Minus 2. Get Bin Laden. Check. Name one person that would not have said to Seal Team 6 to go get him as soon as they knew where he was. 3. Environment. Progress has been made. I would not call all my money wasted on the failed and bankrupt favorite companies progress. My issues, Economy economy economy Big Government, get out of my life. Tax reform, the Fair Tax to be exact. Education, turn this back over to the States. Repeal ObamaCare. What I meant to say is if u think the effective thing to do is cut and paste on an internet forum and do nothing else I would say you may want to think more on that. I didn't get paid to campaign either. If I did I certainly wouldn't be posting about it. I also don't think there is a whole lot to celebrate really. We still are babysitting most of the world. We are still getting our butts kicked in education. The global economic crisis is still dire,and we are not going to get jobs back without reversing NAFTA. Still too much work to do. | ||

Charlotte, speaking only for myself: I do what I can do. Being self-employed and sitting at a computer all day as I do, it's pretty easy to stay informed of current affairs via the computer, with the added benefit that I get to control my search for "the truth," instead of having to take whatever is presented via the tube (don't watch), radio (don't listen), or newspaper (don't subscribe). I work from home, so don't get "out" much. For me, the internet is my most effective means of learning, and communicating. I know for sure of two folks who lurk on BWB, who voted 0 last time, who voted R this time, on account of the "political" threads here. I learned a lot, did my best to share what I thought to be pertinent info regarding the candidates, typically including a "headline" blurb that gave the gist of the article, and then a link to said article in case someone wanted to do further study. If "all" I accomplished was furthering my education and changing two voters' minds about who was the best candidate for pres in the process, well, I'm OK with that, and it cost all the rest of y'all absolutely nothing for my efforts. On that note, I estimate it cost me at least a thousand dollars a month in lost income in the run-up to the election, "cutting and pasting" here on the board. Nope, not looking for sympathy or insults. However, my investment came at a cost. This, on top of five separate monetary donations we made to R&R. So.....we all do what we can. Someone mentioned earlier the "hate" for America in this thread. I *think* the comment was directed at us conservatives. Can't speak for anyone but myself, but I LOVE America, which is why I'm doing what I can to help save our constitutional Republic from destruction. I'm with Glitch: Big government sucks, to put it bluntly. Charlotte, if there's a social issue you or I feel strongly about - and I know we do - I'm of the opinion that it's probably something that should be debated and decided upon at the state level. This is what the Founders intended, and what they created, via the Constitution and Bill of Rights, two documents that Big Government, particularly our current president, have little regard for. Speaking of, 0 is the only pres in the history of the United States to be reelected to a second term with LESS votes than received the first time around. Ten million less votes, give or take. There's a message in there somewhere... In spite of the massive voter fraud us conservatives were up against in the swing states, and Pravda's relentless and ruthless help dragging the pres across the finish line, and all the presidential pandering to various constituencies in the past four years, he still managed to lose 10,000,000 "likes" along the way. Sifo, I read a candidate "questionnaire" recently where 0 answered "YES" to the question "Are you in favor of banning handguns?" This was much earlier in his career, but I doubt his mind has changed on the matter in the intervening years. I think the state of Illinois gives us a pretty good look at where 0 stands on the 2nd amendment. Char, this may or may not interest you. It's from a politically-oriented website called "Chicks on the Right." I've read some of their stuff, and agree overall with their conservative values. Wait- Wait – It gets better What gets lost in these discussions is that a lot of Red people live in Blue States and conversely. Texas could charge admission to move there. – Teas wins. TX could pay the Blue people living there to move to the former US – Double win for the TX Blue people, they get funds and get to live in a more generous place without people such as myself “disenfranchising” them. Church organizations forced to violate their long held deep convictions, to blatantly violate the will of our creator. It's no big deal, just like booze being legal? The govt isn't forcing anyone to drink booze or even help provide it to others. The 2nd amendment is expressly about so-called assault weapons, the arms of war. The country is lost. Way too many moochers and leftists who don't care a whit about the rule of law or the reason that our federal govt was constituted in the first place. Anyone can be married in the view of govt. Marriage is defined as the union of one man to one woman. Their is no inequality under the law. Even the Supreme Court of France affirms that. Go be homo all you want. Pretend you're married if you like. Just don't cram your choice of lifestyle down the throats of everyone holding to the true definition of marriage by FORCING everyone to recognize and affirm it as being equal. It's all about yet another expansion of the nanny state. Social security death benefits and other mandated spousal benefits for the homosexual partner all paid for by the American taxpayer and business owner under threat of imprisonment if we don't. That is absolute unmitigated tyranny! It also violates the first amendment just as do forcing church organizations to offer services which are abominations that are blatantly contrary to the will of our creator as they understand it. The flippant attitude of some here who seem all too happy to see our unalienable G_d given rights disposed of as long as doing so helps promote their leftist ideology is unfortunate.
