I have lost all confidence in the intelligence of the US citizenry.
We are officially screwed. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the entitlement society.

Sadly had it confirmed again tonight.

Can someone re-bury CBS's Bob Schieffer...his a$$ should know that they lock the gates to the cemetery after sundown.

All the drug addicts will be able to keep their addictions going (and help others to join) Poverty will rise, crime will rise, addictions will rise. People need JOBS to work and earn an HONEST living. I think th.

Oh No! 4 more years of Badweb whining, whimpering, cynical bitching, griping, grousing, and grumbling.

How does it feel to contribute money to a 1 billion dollar political loss?

I only spent $20 bucks on a win.

Jim4aMedia,

There is ZERO reason for you to show up to the show here at Badweb at the very last minute without reasoned debate and only to needle. I was being polite welcoming you back, but you have failed. I was severely mistaken and I apologize to the Badweb community.

You are an a**hole. You mean nothing to me with your bullshit. You could have chosen to debate but you have taken the low road.

Goodbye forever.

Tom Reiner.

Tom,

What have I posted that is bullshit? Go back and re-read this whole thread since the beginning, and see who has been bullshitting whom.

I simply pointed out that Obama was going to win today, and I was right. As I recall, it is the same position that I held when we last spoke in July.

What you are feeling now is what I felt when George W. Bush won. Twice.

Badweb has become a reality distortion field and echo machine. Many of you actually believe what you are posting.

Goodnight!

...the American people have spoken at the voting booth
Obama won -- twice -- because he was shrewd enough to realize what the American public wanted -- a celebrity. Or at least by enough of the American electorate whose minds have turned to intellectual mush by this celebrity driven culture subtly prodded along by a media bent on exercising its ideological bias rather than living up to the high ideals of its profession.

Do I need to point out that BadWeB is more than just the Quick Board?

Those who WHINE and COMPLAIN about the political and religious discussions are welcome to visit the DOZENS of other message bases here.

Let's just hope and pray that Chinese hackers don't deactivate our power grid... that would be just terrible to see all the "me firsts" and the "gimme gimme's" die a slow death of starvation and disease... I'd pray for them of course, while feeding my own family. Of course I would help them if they were to appear at my doorstep hungry or in need of care. Of course, most of them can't find their way out of the city. Even when they watch a giant storm approaching on a big screen TV, they seem to lack the foresight to jump in their Escalades and head for the hills.

Would be a crying shame, yes indeed. Bring on the zombies.

Four more years... Of blaming GWB.

Four more years... Of over trillion dollar deficits.

Four more years... Of divisive leadership.

Four more years... Of high unemployment.

Four more years... Of growing dependence on food stamps.

Four more years... Of not passing a budget.

Disappointment doesn't really cover it. This is the predicted trajectory of democracies throughout history. We lasted longer than most. I'm convinced we are witnessing the backside of the curve. I had hopes that this election would prove me wrong on that, but it confirmed my fears on this.

Idealistically, my side lost the vote. I think it is a huge mistake, but so be it, it's a representative democracy.

The part of it that really disturbs me down deep in my soul is the way that our laws are being forced on people that had no voice.

Babies murdered in the womb being the worst. I believe in woman's (and man's) rights, and believe that murdering that woman (or man) in the womb is the ultimate denial of those rights. Its horrible. A woman should have the right to choose, so long as that choice does not cause an even greater loss of another persons right to choose. Abortion rights are about rights to choose, but once an unwanted pregnancy occurs, there is no "clean" option anymore, and you have to choose the lesser of two compromises of those rights. A year or two of physically carrying and recovering from that pregnancy is a two year loss of some rights to choose. But being murdered in the womb denies that woman a lifetime of choices.

The second lesser rub is when we spend money that our children (who can't vote) have to pay off. If we want to invade Iraq, or if we want free and equal health care for all, so be it. But we have to fund it with revenue collected. We can't sell another generation of our children into economic slavery.

49.5% of the population thought President Obama should be replaced. Will the President run the country serving 100% of it's citizens, or will he run the country to serve the 50.5%?

On the plus side, gay marriage and legal pot, in a few states. ( with unemployment rising fairly steadily since Obama became a Senator, picking up when he got the nomination and continuing, presumably for the next 4 years, getting stoned is a good way to "occupy" the "new normal" permanent underclass )

If you don't like the conservative idea that stable relationships are better than promiscuity, because you have a moral or esthetic issue with same sex marriage, then don't marry some one of the same sex.

If your objection to gay marriage is based on a religion, too bad. I'm waiting ( not happily ) for some judge to make your's illegal. Sharia already has trumped the 1st amendment in the case where the "film maker" has been incarcerated on the word of the Sec State & Pres. Since the islamist attitude on gay marriage is "there are no gays" ( because they have been murdered ) the whole subject is really moot if religious matters go the way most feared by free men.

I'm not splitting the country, nor have I promised to. I note that folk like Dennis Miller have sworn to vacation more & see the world, since they are the targets of the class envy hatred and intended punishment taxes... so why work hard if it's punished? Pity I'm not in that category...( richer )

So the real questions are:

Can Obama actually reform himself and give up the "not one fracking cent less spending" approach and stabilize the economy? ( about to crash, hard )

Will the Islamist rulers of Egypt ( Obama's legacy ) Iran ( Carter's legacy ) and Syria ( IF Obama actually is supporting the "rebels" and they succeed in defeating the Alawite & Socialist Ba'ath party. ) attempt to finally destroy Israel?

What will the result be?

Will Russia and China ( suppliers of arms to evil F^cks for over 60 years ) get involved to protect ( China ) or destroy ( Russia ) the middle east oil production?

And if all the above is meaningless to you....
What will the President do with his increased flexibility?

One thing I don't expect to see is a budget. Ever.

Brad I agree, the results are in on America's IQ test, we have failed miserably.

This is why when Ben Franklin was asked what form of government they had formed he responded "A Republic, if you can keep it". It was well understood back then that when the people figure out that they can vote for free stuff, that they will lose their government shortly there after. We are at apogee.

What I want to know most is, where do we go from here?
Obama hasn't said anything about the future, or is this just going to be "another four years"?
ObamaCare is here to stay, and I'm thinking healthcare is going to get to a point that Americans won't recognize it.
I'm worried about all the small businesses that can barely make it now, since they won't be able to make it once ObamaCare is fully implemented.
I'm worried about unemployment, I didn't hear anything addressing it from Obama.
I'm worried about our debt, I didn't hear anything about that either.
I'm not worried about weed or marriage, neither of which in my view is important enough to worry much about.
The middle east I'm convinced will continue it's downward spiral.
Will we become a failed nation?
The fiscal cliff is looming, and I've not heard anything from Obama on how he intends not to go over it.
Can anyone enlighten me on what Obama's plan for the future is?

You know, I lean Libertarian. From the get go I knew the attitude of the GOP was what was going to cause the results we see here. You focus on the things that are certain to lead to a loss of voters for you. Hell, people among your own party helped with it big time. The rape subjects just being one example. Throw in the issue of gay marriage and a couple of others and well. Here we are.

You lost the youth vote and hinged your bets on the older vote. Doesn't appear to have helped you. Wonderful job alienating a ton of voters though. Congratulations on that.
