Stopping on my way to work, you betcha! If the unthinkable happens and Romney wins, it WON'T be because of my not getting out to vote (it'll be because the Republicans have once again duped 98% of the population into voting against their own best interests again). |

Union Man, What about us Libertarians???? Exactly right! After we've endured months of acrimonious campaigning, the least we can do is vote the bastards out! |

I was there at 6:10 this morning. 15 people in line, and it went quickly. I wouldn't want to wait till later and find I have to wait for hours. |

7 am, decent lines, but maybe 25 minutes start to finish. Shorter than many of the early voting lines. |

I see the Black Panthers are out at the entrance of polling places in PA again. No doubt the UN monitors will be all over this voter intimidation. |

The "Get Out the Vote" thing scares me. Those that are aware of the issues and self-educated should vote and are generally motivated to do so without being prodded. Those that are rounded up and put in vans to "make thier vote count" generally are pretty ignorant and make ill conceived decisions based on one-sided information or emotion. Let the people that are motivated and aware of the issues vote, and leave the rest at home to watch TV (probably not news). |

Those that are rounded up and put in vans to "make thier vote count" generally are pretty ignorant and make ill conceived decisions based on one-sided information or emotion. Emotion? Such as "revenge" perhaps? The Dems have made this sort of voting an industry. That's why it's well known that elections that get bigger turnouts tend to favor the Dems. They get stirred up with politicians making claims that the Republicans are going to take away their government entitlements. |

Annyone seen the the video of the voting machine that despite selecting Obama outputs Romney. Haven't seen that video. There have been lot's of stories of just the opposite from early voting though. Drudge Report curently has no less than seven different stories of election fraud of various types, all being done by the Dems. I see a pattern here. A Republican election official run out of a polling place by a man with a badge and a gun and 911 refused to respond! Seriously? |

Cant tell the validity of the video. Yahoo is trying to get the raw footage. May be something may be nothing. I'll never know. |

>>>Sifo see below Turner will not face legal action after Facebook 'joke' (updated) Story Comments (11) ShareShare Print Create a hardcopy of this page Font Size: Default font size Larger font size Posted: Monday, November 5, 2012 11:45 am | Updated: 2:50 pm, Tue Nov 6, 2012. ANNA HARVEY | 11 comments PINE KNOLL SHORES — District Attorney Scott Thomas said since no violation of election laws happened, no criminal charges will be filed against Jim Turner of Pine Knoll Shores, following a “joke” he made on Facebook late last week. Mr. Thomas said that while the matter was looked into, the State Board of Elections did not find any truth to Mr. Turner’s comments that he voted multiple times. Mr. Thomas said, “It is important to protect the integrity of our election process by fully investigating credible allegations of misconduct that come to our attention. We will continue to do this in the future.” The N.C. Board of Elections determined that a controversial Facebook post by Mr. Turner that went viral is not evidence of voter fraud. In fact, according to the County Board of Elections, Mr. Turner had not even voted once when the Facebook post was made, let alone four times as his comment stated. District Attorney Scott Thomas said that since no violation of election laws happened, that no criminal charges will be filed against Mr. Turner. “It is important to protect the integrity of our election process by fully investigating credible allegations of misconduct that come to our attention,” said Mr. Thomas. “We will continue to do this in the future.” Mr. Turner has since said that he would only be voting once, and that would be on Tuesday. While Mr. Turner has obtained legal counsel and is refusing television or personal interviews, he released a statement Monday explaining the situation that led to his statement gaining national attention. “While on Facebook Friday November 2nd, I noticed my daughter had ‘liked’ a posting by the Barak [sic] Obama Facebook page about early voting in North Carolina. I clicked on the link believing I was being directed to my daughter’s private Facebook page. Instead I posted, on the very public Barak [sic] Obama Facebook Page now the infamous following statement.” His statement continued to say that his posts “would not have been an issue if the people who know me and my ‘way with words’ were the only people who read them. Unfortunately that was not the case.” Mr. Turner said he was told his statements has reached more than 4 million web hits since Friday. On Friday, Mr. Turner stated on Facebook that he had voted multiple times in favor of President Barack Obama. He now says he is only “guilty of not understanding the power of the Internet. The post was apparently intended as a joke – one of the towns he mentions voting in doesn’t even have a one-stop site. And according to election records, there are two people in Pine Knoll Shores named James Turner and neither of them had voted during the one-stop period. But the post was taken seriously by some and according to news reports Mr. Turner has received threats over the comment. The State Board of Elections was notified of the post and an investigator spoke with Mr. Turner Monday morning, according to Johnnie McLean, deputy director with the state board. A statement was released late Monday by Gary Bartlett, Executive Director with the state Board of Elections that said the office had “received numerous emails and phone calls from individuals justifiably concerned about a posting on Facebook” made by Mr. Turner. The press release said after an investigation, it was determined that “he is a senior citizen who made an unfortunate attempt at a ‘joke.’ ” The press release concluded with the statement that, “Every claim or allegation of multiple voting must be taken seriously, but we have concluded that it did not occur in this case.” Mr. Turner’s comment, which was posted Friday, states the following: “I have voted once in Beaufort, once in Henderson, twice in Emerald Isle and will vote in my precinct in PKS, I will do whatever it takes to save our country from the world envisioned by Mitt (Romney) and his fear mongering followers. I do not want my granddaughter to have to re-fight the battles won by women 40 years ago or to make less than my grandson for performing the same work he does. This election is not about taxing the wealthy. It is about the American spirit and caring for our fellow man. Let’s continue to move forward, not slip in the dark past.” Someone who saw the post took a screen shot of the page as proof of his comment. It was then passed along to the County Board of Elections, which submitted it to the state board. The original Facebook post was later removed. On Monday morning, Katie Muns with the County Board of Elections said, “This rumor isn’t a case of voter fraud, it is a case of very poor judgment.” Multiple phone calls to Mr. Turner’s residence were not answered Monday morning. The answering machine was full and would not accept any additional messages. News reports say that Mr. Turner has had to leave his residence due to the number of threats to his safety, and the well-being of his family. Ken Jones, the mayor of Pine Knoll Shores, said he has received numerous emails from across the nation on the situation since Friday. On Friday after the original comment was posted and removed, Mr. Turner posted another status on his own page. “I posted a comment to Jami’s page earlier today and it now lives in cybersomewhere. I can’t seem to get with the whole Facebook thing. I made [a] bold comment on the future of my grandchildren under a Romney presidency and now it is gone. I think my comments were deleted as part of a conspiracy inspired by some who see our national glass as half empty.” The comment has no privacy setting, which allows anyone to read and share it. Although Mr. Turner has just 43 “friends” on his Facebook account, the second post was shared 169 times by Tuesday. >>>I joked earlier in the month about voting early and voting often as well. Does that make me guilty of fraud? |

Drkside, You do understand that without showing an ID there's no way of ever knowing if someone has voted. Bottom line is that he may or may not have done the claimed voter fraud. That is exactly why Voter ID laws are a good thing. Either way, I posted it as more of a joke than anything. It has nothing to do with the growing list of real voter fraud/intimidation that I referenced earlier. Go and try to debunk that stuff.
