Spotted a cool cafe Guzzi at Riders Hill today.I believe it started life as a '73 T3 but as you can see it ain't your old mans T3. It featured an Ohlins mono shock hooked up to a braced swingarm. It has a 1000cc top end with a rectangular viewing port in the valve cover so you can see the valve train moving. He had mounted led's in the upper triple tree as idiot lights and the high beam flash switch was the starter button. The last picture in the group is for Innes. http://s1120.photobucket.com/albums/l500/buellish1 /Cool%20Guzzi/ |

Glad to see you're maintaining the standards we've come to expect from you. That Guzzi is really sweet too. |

Classic! Modern, too. Looks so...purposeful compared to the current bikes. |

Thats a Nice bike! You dont often hear the word "cool" and "Guzzi" together but this time it really fits. Hat's off to who built that beauty |

I can't find the original in French to avoid smutty worlds. Forgive me. And, I'll look for my old Guzzi photos. |

Whoa badass, goatee, mullet & Guzzi. I'm just jealous, because I don't have enough hair left anymore. |

Helmet hair. I suspect many more have enjoyed it. The goatee is still here. |

Michael, my next bike (to replace the STT) is most likely to be a Stelvio. I'd be interested in your friends thoughts on his. Mind you the Griso makes me drool. Max, I don't have enough hair even for that! And Mme Grumpy won't even talk to me with a beard except to tell me to shave it off if I want to sleep in the same bed! |

Innes,he loves it,although he has dropped it do to the weight and his short stature. My friend with the SP road the Stelvio and thought it too heavy and bought a 2012 DL650 instead. |

I just hit 41 K (miles, not Kilometers) on my Norge. Guzzis are very addictive. |

Crusty,do you remember meeting me at Homecoming 2011?I was there on the red Ballabio and came over to admire your Norge. |

Yes, I do. Terri fell in love with your bike, and was considering getting a Ballabio right up to the time we separated. |

I've been looking at the Norge too, & on paper it looks like the better bike for the money & use here, but it just doesn't jump at me like the Stelvio & the Griso. The Griso isn't a practical proposition for me either, I'd have to spend too much time keeping it clean. But it's so mouth-wateringly beautiful I wouldn't need a tv, just a comfy chair in the garage. Nope the Stelvio it is. |

Stelvio gets my vote. A former BMW riding pal from my airhead past bought a LeMans and will likely never get off it for another beast of Berlin. Or wherever they make them now. |

Nothing like a b flat 2-speed automatic tarted up like a road whorrior to keep the difference between art and aggravation obscured to the casual onlooker. |

Max,is that a T-3?Who made the faring? |

It's a V-1000 Convert. The Sprint (brand) Endurance Race fairing came out of England when the dollar was down and cost more than double the $400 Convert. The LeMans tank, frame lowers and foot pegs were about the same as the $400. Eating a sandwich with my left hand at a stop light while next to a boy racer who wonders why I don't pull in the clutch and shift into first, but roll out in low range with him, priceless. |

Looks rather like a "Sprint SR" fairing. |

Innes; If the Griso is the bike that's calling you, then go for it. I rode one (a demo bike at a Guzzi Rally), and it's not uncomfortable. I'd probably change the bars (a lot of Griso owners put on Aprilia Mana bars), then I'd look for a destination a couple of days away. Then again, I know a couple of riders who absolutely love their Stelvios, and wouldn't part with them. They're all good bikes; now all you have to do is figure out which one grabs you the most. Don't buy the most practical bike; you'll get bored with it pretty quickly. Buy the one that has you sneaking out to the garage just to look at it 'cause it's so sweet. |

Okay, it's an SR. I simply dunno the diff. Ham & Swiss with lettuce, tomato, yellow mustard and a smidge of mayo. The stepchild of their offerings, coming with floor boards, sit up and beg bars, usually carrying bags and an overweight Windjammer to make the steering lame. Yet, extremely cheap to purchase a low mile runner, convert to a V-1000 G5 5-speed (hence the name?). I had it up to 110 on the clock until the fog rolled in, my fellow travelers called me a shiftless b*st*rd. Some still do. |

No worry. It had a clutch cable and handle, but I cannot recall actually using it. I'm still good with the Stelvio. Found a post-season shirt in large and will keep an eye peeled, no both of them peeled, for a StL hat that denotes the season. Keep the baby, faith. (Message edited by moxnix on October 23, 2012) |

The Stelvio is ahead on points as I can ride it dirty & nobody will bat an eyelid, but the Griso would quickly p**s me off with cleaning it. Whose baby? Not mine your honour, I always wore boots! |

Then, keep the faith, baby, and enter the hallowed land of Guzzi, dirty, clean, but a nice machine. They never made such eclectic stuff in my garage full o' bikes days. |
