Well there was a breast cancer walk\marathon and the police and organizers setting up the event left these pedestrian blockade fences in the road. Long story short is i clipped one of them at 30 mph and crashed into a wall at about 28 mph. front of bike is wrecked pretty good. I was wearing full gear but smashed my ankle and knee under the weight of the bike.

I had to walk 6 blocks and get a tie down to strap the axle back to the forks to get the bike home 2 miles (everyone i know works). Then i loaded my broken ass into the truck and went to the hospital. No breakages but some seriously smashed ankle and banged up knee. Worst part is i forgot to put full coverage insurance on this bike and all my other bikes have full coverage. Be careful out there and watch out for obstacles. I am still waiting to hear from my attorney about the liability of the fence left in the road that i hit. Some one left the fence out into the road without any signs or warning of any kind. They were setting up for a marathon and the police were blocking off the roads and setting up and someone left it out. All i know is i have been down for 8 days straight and cannot walk at all. Worst of all is that i am on blood thinners for heart problems and i bruised up so bad that all the blood trapped in the bruises is very very painful.

Boy is there a stack of liability there. Don't talk about it online, and go get a lawyer.

It's as insane to put up an unmarked hazard as it is to use "pedestrian barriers" with a 600 pound breaking strength. Hello yellow plastic tape.

Not much you can do with that wrapped around the front axle.

When I hit a barricade over a year ago, there was no signage saying "lane closed ahead". No reflection or flashing yellow on the barricades either!

There are FEDERAL regulations that all muni's, towns, and cities have to follow to close a lane/road down. Have your lawyer look it up, then go after the gov't that is responsible.

Pain and suffering, lost wages, lost deductible, lawyer services.

Looks sore!

Repicheep that is on the axle because i had no one to help me get it home so i strapped the broken axle back to the fork so i could ride it back home. and then go to the hospital. I'm no slouch and will find a way to to get my bike home or out of the area im stranded in by any means necessary. I have already got an attorney but the event center and the police are fighting over who's fault it is.

That's why everyone gets sued. Let the court sort it out. I'm no fan of that, but it's how the system works.

Thanks for all the support guys. I have an appointment to see a orthopedic surgeon to make sure I didn't tear anything to badly. If its a stage3 sprain it will need surgery. (Mike) I know we do need to stay in touch. I'm going to rebuild the bike while I'm waiting for a resolution on the accident. Ankle swelling Is way down pain is the same.
