Back at you Squid man. Why was our federal govt constituted? If the fence is in the sunshine, then morning glories are really nice and they grow like weeds even in poor soil. Honeysuckle and trumpet vine cover quickly and the hummingbirds like them. The Lady Banks climbing roses are great for fences too, very low maintenance, and they don't have much in the way of thorns. | ||

Bougainvillea looks very nice and grows like crazy, really thorny though... and lots of bees. That might be a good or bad thing, depending on your preferences. Glad to see you aren't really jumping ship. Our current situation is extremely dangerous. The white house is occupied by a terrorist sympathizer. At no point in our history can I find a more dangerous period. As such, it finds its way into discussions that are completely unrelated. Pwnz, You missed the sarcasm smiley. The theory is that it is conservatives and their political postings who have "ruined" BW. My point was that political postings won't end if Obama loses. Those very same people calling for an end of political debate and crying that they are going to leave will be some of the FIRST to log anti-Romney political posts on BW. It's the revelation of complete and total hypocrisy. I bet if Romney wins and I pledge to never post another political item (and ban every single person who posts anything political on BW), there wouldn't be any takers on that deal. | ||

Obama is certainly an Islamist sympathizer. He apologized for our (sorry DD) great country in Cairo in 2009, abandoned our ally in Egypt and embraced the Muslim Brotherhood, he openly disses Israel, a true ally. The Western world does NOT have a friend with Obama and it is time for him to exit the stage. Nice fence, squids. | ||

Squids, and the rest of you, don't let whoever occupies the white house determine whether or not you'll live a happy life. Look at me; a white conservative living in California. Other than electing my congressional representative, my vote is meaningless. Come November 7, Dianne Feinstein, at age 79, will still be my senator (seriously, again?) and Barack Obama will have carried the state by a huge margin. The state assembly will have an overwhelming democrat majority that makes republican presence inconsequential. By all accounts I should be on suicide watch. But I'm not. My goal is to live a happy life not because of what government provides for me but in spite of what they do to me. I have a wife, children and grandchildren who love me, dogs who worship me and motorcycles waiting to be taken out of the garage. I'm heading up the northern Calif coast this weekend then over through southern Oregon and beyond before returning home. God bless America! | ||

I fully understand that the Quick Board is intended to be the "catch-all" section for the BW- hats off to Blake and the originators of this website, there's little that's missing as far as structure or intent. It just seems that one could start a thread about underwater basket-weaving or Gramma's cross-stitching and someone will HAVE to post up some kind of "Nobama" comment. Just a quick glance at the sheer number of posts in the QB threads that are obviously political or religious shows that there are close to THREE THOUSAND posts in them alone. Why in the hell should anyone feel to each he need to even jokingly post something political in a thread about FENCES? To me, that's just mental. Off, I mean, mental. To each his or her own, but I can carry a conversation and at least stay ON TOPIC, and not spout off political crap like some bastardized version of Tourette's. Give it a try, youn's... | ||

Squids, I'm with ya. I used to get involved in the political/religious threads, but I stay out of them now, and if I don't I refrain from posting anything. I'm no Obama supporter, but I can say that this board is very much a vocal conservative majority, which is fine, but it also nearly perfectly exemplifies absolutely everything that is wrong with the Republican party today (which boils down to saying one thing in theory and doing something completely different in practice, or at least attempting to). I do not plan on voting for either of the two mainstream candidates this election, but living in NY I know my vote doesn't really matter, anyway. I find it kind of amusing that the political posts on here get the kind of attention they do - I can't think of a single instance when I involved myself in a political or religious debate and I was successful in changing anyone's mind who didn't agree with me. It just doesn't happen. Instead, what we have is a pile of like-minded dudes sitting around in front of their laptops getting off by agreeing with one other, and posting links to news articles which also express their views in order to justify their well-intended-but-ultimately-destructive belief structure. Do like me, brow - ignore it. I'm not around a ton anymore as well as I've sold my Buell, but hope to have others some day and there are some seriously cool people on here that I'd hate to not be in touch with merely because they're wrong about politics | ||

I remember when the late Christopher Hitchens went on the HBO Dennis Miller Show, He came out with a whiskey in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Shook hands, sat down, sip, puff, "George Bush is an Idiot", sip, puff, "Bill Clinton is a rapist", sip, puff, then something REALLY offensive about Mother Theresa! I disagreed with Chis on politics, a lot, but he was honest about his views, argued them with style, ( though some may disagree ) and reported the truth from some real hells on Earth, even when they violated his ideology. To make sure I've offended everyone else... NUKE THE UNBORN BABY WHALES!!!!  RE: Fences... Because of town ordinance, a buddy can't put a high fence up, but he CAN grow one.
