Just did an oil change on the XT. Not a big deal to do and went smoothly. Now I'd like to replace the air filter. Called around and the cheapest I could find was $49.95!! Only crap that's a lot of money for an air filter.

What does everyone else do? Pay the 50 bucks or is there away to clean up the old one? I don't have an air compressor or I'd just blow out the old one and stick it back in.

K&N is a reusable option. Some say the don't filter well, but at 50K miles my bike hasn't worn out yet.

Don't want to know what that would cost. I got a K&N oil filter from the local HD dealer and an oil filter was $14.95. I'm going to Napa next time.

They aren't that expensive. $59.95 from American Sport Bike. http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/9300.html

$13.95 for the recharge kit that will cover you for quite a few filter cleanings. http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/5638.html

You will be saving money on the second service.

You're right. A throw away is almost that same cost. Thanks for the tip.

Just out of curiosity, does anybody have a part number for a NAPA filter? That might be a nice thing to know in case of emergency.
