Watch this one. . . .

Lockheed was trying to comply Warren Act with to provide notice of layoffs.

The White House used taxpayer money to reclassify them at "hypothetical" layoffs.

Lockheed Martin is sitting on 123,000 layoffs . . . .

I doubt most folks realize how much is riding on this election.

From Courts link....

The guidance issued Friday told contractors that if the automatic cuts happen and contractors lay off employees the government will cover certain liability and litigation costs in the event the contractor is later sued because it hadn’t provided adequate legal warning to its employees, but only if the contractor abides by the administration’s notice and refrains from warning employees now.

The systems are designed to be secure if you follow the rules. But as Cityslicker observes...

quote:

"but if you leave a dimwhit Spec alone in the SCIF - do not be surprised if the whole shebang ends up as a WikiLeak."

I'll add to that:

quote:

"But if you don't enforce controls around some ivy league rock star who thinks that rules are just for little people - then do not be surprised when the whole shebang ends up being downloaded by the Chinese miltary"

I knew we were in trouble when Obama announced that he wouldn't give up his blackberry. It's a reasonably secure platform for personal and business work (and actually easier to secure than the IPhone, and the Andriod platform is a security disaster from the factory).

But it's not up to the level of security we need for the commander in chief. So even then, days after being inaugurated, he was already selling out the security of our country in exchange for personal convenience and a vain need to feel "connected".

It was clear from the beginning that we were in trouble.

I see a new candidate for Lumosity.

The administration is a flaming embarrassment. I'm sure someone, whoever it may be, is laughing their ass off at poor stupid Susan Rice . . . "here, just take this on the talk shows and read it . . no one will know".

I hate seeing an entire population treated as stupid.

The real question should be, under what authority can the President simply decide to ignore the law. This is exactly the type of tyranny that is described in the declaration of independence that lead to armed conflict. This is why our founders set us up to be a nation governed by laws, not a nation governed by a king.

This is why our founders set us up to be a nation governed by laws, not a nation governed by a king.

Sifo, I've posted this up several times before, but it bears repeating:

quote:

"The greatest fear of the Founding Fathers was the establishment of a strong central government and an ambitious, power-hungry political leader at the center of that government." He continued, "They believed the best assurance against centralized authority was a loose association of sovereign states, which maintained most governmental power at the local level."

Here is the concept expressed in Article 1 of the U.S. Constitution: "All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives." The Supreme Court tried to establish some limitations on executive orders, saying that they must stem either from an act of Congress or from the Constitution itself, and that an executive order must not be "incompatible" with the express or implied will of Congress.

So, with that background, let's see what Obama has been up to:

Source, and read MUCH more: http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/09/will_obama_ become_a_lame_duck.html

This is a truly frightening read.

0bama has proven time and time again he has no regard for the rules, i.e. the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and just in case someone actually calls him on it, he can simply fall back on one or all of the Executive Order powers he's granted himself over the past four years.

On the other hand, a large percentage of the electorate simply wants more pie. You posted-up the video the other day of one of 0's supporters saying he'd earned her vote because he gives out "0bamaphones."

I thought it was a sadly entertaining video, but I confess I didn't know what an 0bamaphone actually was.

I read last night there are over a million of them in circulation now, and, of course, YOU AND I are paying for them.

What a sad state of affairs we're in.

Conservatives should lean towards privatize the risk and privatize the profit.

Liberals should lean towards socializing the risk and socializing the profits.

The modern liberal, particular the modern democratic party of Barney Frank and President Obama, have made a big business out of socializing the risk, but privatizing the profits (the worst of all worlds).

This is absolutely appalling: Ambassador Stevens pleaded for months for additional security in Libya, and the White House - specifically, our Sec of State - said no.

No wonder the WH coverup machine has been in hyperdrive since the murder of Amb. Stevens.

DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!

quote:

Oversight Presses for Answers: Diplomats in Libya Requested Additional Security, Washington Officials Denied the Resources

October 2, 2012

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee leaders today sent a letter [see link below] to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asking why requests for more protection were denied to the U.S. mission in Libya by Washington officials prior to the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens. The denials came after repeated attacks and security threats to U.S. personnel.

“Based on information provided to the Committee by individuals with direct knowledge of events in Libya, the attack that claimed the ambassador’s life was the latest in a long line of attacks on Western diplomats and officials in Libya in the months leading up to September 11, 2012. It was clearly never, as Administration officials once insisted, the result of a popular protest,” the committee’s chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and subcommittee chairman, Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, write. “In addition, multiple U.S. federal government officials have confirmed to the Committee that, prior to the September 11 attack, the U.S. mission in Libya made repeated requests for increased security in Benghazi. The mission in Libya, however, was denied these resources by officials in Washington.”

The letter outlines 13 security threats over the six months prior to the attack.

“Put together, these events indicated a clear pattern of security threats that could only be reasonably interpreted to justify increased security for U.S. personnel and facilities in Benghazi,” the chairmen write.

The Committee indicated it intends to convene a hearing in Washington on Wednesday October 10, 2012, on the security failures that preceded the attack.

Followup to Court's post earlier:

Lockheed Martin is sitting on 123,000 layoffs . . . .

quote:

Obama Urges Companies to Break Federal Law for His Reelection
By Mike Flynn, Oct 2, 2012

For Obama and the left, the law is merely a suggestion for what they can do. Can't get something through Congress? Simply issue an executive order. Can't get an appointment through the Senate? Simply "declare" the Senate in recess and appoint away. Act now and let the judges sort it out later.

For the past few weeks, several defense contractors made it clear they would have to send out layoff notices to thousands of workers due to automatic budget cuts set to take effect in January. The cuts are triggered by the debt ceiling "deal" hatched last year. The layoff notices are required under federal law.

Understandably, the Obama Administration was panicked by this. The notices would hit in the last month of his reelection campaign and have a huge impact in the critical swing state of Virginia, home to hoards of defense contractors. What to do? Simple. Ignore the law.

Yesterday, Lockheed Martin, a massive contractor, announced it had reached a "deal" with the White House and would not send out the legally required layoff notices. The Obama Administration had "interpreted" the law and found it would be "inappropriate" to send out the layoff notices.

More amazingly, the White House promised to pay any fines or penalties that might be leveled against the company for violating federal law. Read that again.

Yes, the White House just told companies to violate federal law and that, if they get in trouble for it, the government, i.e. taxpayers, will cover their fines.

Sifo, remember the video of the NPR minions fawning over what they believed was a terrorist group offering them millions to propagandize for them?

My favorite bits are the statement that NPR could easily launder the money, they've done it before... ( admission of guilt in fraud and tax violations ) the part where they say "Oh really? That's good, I like that." to being told that NPR is referred to as "national palestinian radio".... and "owns newspapers obviously". ( Jews own them, but not us! we'd be happy to pimp your vile anti-Jew propaganda for money! Thrilled at the idea of being "counterculture"...) ( about 8:25 into the video )

For what it's worth, all four debates are being moderated by the left-wing media; tomorrow night's debate is moderated by Jim Lehrer, former PBS anchor. I've also read online that it's a foregone conclusion the 0bama camp has been given the questions already, to better prepare the ch0sen 0ne to sound, uh, wise and presidential. (I wonder if the oceans will stop rising and the planet will begin to heal.......again???)

Not fair, but I expect nothing less from the feckless lapdog media these days. If it wasn't for the so-called "alternate" media, and Fox, we'd all still be pretty much in the dark as to what a traitor 0bama actually is.

So, in that vein, if he wins reelection, watch for bigger, bolder attacks on the 1st Amendment. Pravda, anyone?

Excellent speech by Pat Caddell

Chauly, thanks for posting that. Mr. Caddell is right on the money:

quote:

[W]e face a fundamental danger here. The fundamental danger is this: I talked about the defense of the First Amendment. The press’s job is to stand in the ramparts and protect the liberty and freedom of all of us from a government and from organized governmental power. When they desert those ramparts and decide that they will now become active participants, that their job is not simply to tell you who you may vote for, and who you may not, but, worse—and this is the danger of the last two weeks—what truth that you may know, as an American, and what truth you are not allowed to know, they have, then, made themselves a fundamental threat to the democracy, and, in my opinion, made themselves the enemy of the American people.

Amen.

Pat Caddell Says: Media Have Become an "Enemy of the American people"

Published on Sep 27, 2012 by aimaccuracy

For full transcript please go to:
http://www.aim.org/video/pat-caddell-the-audacity- of-corruption/

In recent remarks to an AIM conference, "ObamaNation: A Day of Truth," former Democratic pollster and analyst Pat Caddell said, "I think we're at the most dangerous time in our political history in terms of the balance of power in the role that the media plays in whether or not we maintain a free democracy." Caddell noted that while First Amendment protections were originally provided to the press so they would protect the liberty and freedom of the public from "organized governmental power," they had clearly relinquished the role of impartial news providers.

Nowhere was this more evident than during the tragic death of a U.S. ambassador in Libya that was lied about for nine days, because the press and the administration did not want to admit it was a terrorist attack.

"We've had nine days of lies over what happened because they can't dare say it's a terrorist attack, and the press won't push this," said Caddell. "Yesterday there was not a single piece in The New York Times over the question of Libya. Twenty American embassies, yesterday, are under attack. None of that is on the national news. None of it is being pressed in the papers."
