Hootowl has a point. As the lumpen (Marx's word for the stupid masses) are dumbed down by worthless schools, never develop critical thinking, get their news from Twitter or Facebook, they march in lockstep down the road from stupidity to an Obama second term.

Obama sowed the wind since being elected and is now reaping the whirlwind. Clearly, a lot of people like it.

Just stating the obvious. I'm not pleased about it.

Which is why it's so important for our conservative voices to be heard, over and over and over again, from now 'til the election.

And if Romney wins (which I'm absolutely convinced he will if we have an honest and fair tally of the votes), we need to keep him accountable for his campaign promises.

He has - in his personal AND business AND political life - done exactly that: Kept his word.

Don't underestimate the power of this thread to do good. No, we're not reaching "the masses." But we're reaching more people than we think.

Every. Vote. Counts.

Former Navy SEAL Identified As Consulate Attack Victim
Fox News, Sep 13, 2012

Glen Doherty, a former Navy SEAL from Massachusetts, was one of the victims of the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, a family friend confirmed to Fox News.

Doherty is the latest victim to be identified. The U.S. government earlier confirmed that U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and Sean Smith, a foreign service information management officer, died in the attack.

The name of the fourth American who died in the attack has not been disclosed.

Tamara Holder doesn’t like getting repeatedly called out by Michelle Malkin and crushed in one-on-one debates with her, so she does what losers do and resorts to childish and petty attacks:

Nice one, Imus. : )

It's pathetic and disgusting what the mainstream media - so-called journalists - has reduced themselves to these days. They deserve to be mocked.

REPORTS: No Live Ammo for Marines
Marine blogs say U.S. embassy did not authorize service members to carry ammo

By Adam Kredo | Washington Free Beacon, September 13, 2012

U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition, limiting their ability to respond to attacks like those this week on the U.S. consulate in Cairo.

Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson “did not permit U.S. Marine guards to carry live ammunition,” according to multiple reports [see linked report below] on U.S. Marine Corps blogs spotted by Nightwatch. “She neutralized any U.S. military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.”

NightWatch
For the night of 12 September 2012

NightWatch Special Comment: Ambassador Anne Patterson's April Glaspie moment.

Ambassador Anne Patterson, the US Ambassador to Egypt, experienced her 'April Glaspie' moment yesterday when she blamed Americans instead of Egyptians for attacking, storming and desecrating the US Embassy in Cairo and the US Flag.

Old hands will remember, April Glaspie, who was a rising star in the State Department's constellation of diplomats. Her notorious conversation with Saddam Hussein in early 1990 led Saddam to believe that the US encouraged and condoned an Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.

Having worked closely with US officials for a decade in the struggle and war against Iran, Saddam understood that everything after the Glaspie talk was plausible deniability by US President Bush, 41.

Glaspie misunderstood and misjudged the Iraqi leadership and the situation in Iraq. Patterson's operations at the US Embassy in Cairo bespeak a comparable misjudgment of the Egyptian Arab situation, its volatility and the depth of anti-American sentiment.

She did not permit US Marine guards to carry live ammunition, according to USMC blogs. Thus she neutralized any US military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.

In this respect, she did not defend US sovereign territory and betrayed her oath of office. She neutered the Marines posted to defend the embassy, trusting the Egyptians over the Marines.

She apparently judges that Egyptian President Mursi spearheads a democracy and a new civil order, despite the mounting evidence that Mursi disregards US interests, cavorts with US enemies, is a budding authoritarian ruler who disdains parliament and does not honor the basic obligations of diplomatic agreements and the Geneva conventions.

Readers, by definition, whenever an embassy of any country is overrun by locals in any country, everyone knows that the ambassador and senior staff must be replaced.

The Fed's Well-Timed Economic Sugar Fix:

quote:

President Obama is clearly revealing his rapid loss of any grip on the economic and security issues that are of utmost importance to our country. His economic and foreign policy blunders are manifesting chaos. On the same day when we see more chaos erupting in the Middle East and President Obama declaring that Egypt is no longer considered our ally, the Federal Reserve announced that it will spend $40 billion a month to purchase mortgage-backed securities with no end date set. QE3 is upon us.

In a speech nearly two years ago, I asked: “If [QE2] doesn’t work, what do we do then? Print even more money? What’s the end game here? Where will all this money printing on an unprecedented scale take us? Do we have any guarantees that QE2 won’t be followed by QE3, 4, and 5, until eventually – inevitably – no one will want to buy our debt anymore? What happens if the Fed becomes not just the buyer of last resort, but the buyer of only resort?”

As predicted, QE3 is upon us. Is it any wonder that the dollar is down against major currencies? This temporary, artificial economic “stimulus” bought at the expense of high inflation is no substitute for a stable currency and genuine long-term economic recovery. This is what happens when big government centralized planners try to “plan” our economy. President Obama is no doubt happy, though, that this latest sugar fix comes 53 days before the election.

Consulate Attack Planned As 2-Part Militant Assault, Libyan Official Says
FoxNews.com Sep 13, 2012

A Libyan official said Thursday that the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi was a planned, two-part operation that included a raid on a supposedly secret safe house -- an account that comports with what a top U.S. lawmaker told Fox News a day earlier.

On Wednesday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers told Fox News that the strike was a "coordinated, military-style" operation.

Wanis al-Sharef, eastern Libya's deputy interior minister, then said on Thursday the attacks were suspected to have been timed to mark the 9/11 anniversary and that the militants used civilians protesting an anti-Islam film as cover for their action.

...He said that second wave killed two more Americans and wounded nearly 30 Libyans and Americans.

The comments continued to contradict initial reports that the attack was a product of angry and violent protests over an anti-Islam film.

Rogers told Fox News he has "no doubt" it was a planned attack and had nothing to do with the film.

"It was a coordinated, military-style, commando-type raid," Rogers said. Based on his own briefings, Rogers said "military movements" were involved.

I'm confused (say it isn't so, Ferris).

I'm reading multiple online reports today that the chosen one told Telemundo in an interview yesterday that Egypt is NOT our ally (but it's also not our enemy, he said - that's a good thing, right? )

Today, however, the State Department says Egypt IS our ally:

Oh, what a tangled web the White House is weaving. This poor, poor woman - I have no idea who she is - probably doesn't make near enough money for what she's doing. Mike Rowe oughta do a 'Dirty Jobs' segment on her.

America, this should make your blood boil. Emphasis mine:

quote:

Revealed: Inside Story of US Envoy's Assassination
Exclusive: America 'was warned of embassy attack but did nothing'

Kim Sengupta, Friday 14 September 2012

The killings of the US ambassador to Libya and three of his staff were likely to have been the result of a serious and continuing security breach, The Independent can reveal.

American officials believe the attack was planned, but Chris Stevens had been back in the country only a short while and the details of his visit to Benghazi, where he and his staff died, were meant to be confidential.

The US administration is now facing a crisis in Libya. Sensitive documents have gone missing from the consulate in Benghazi and the supposedly secret location of the "safe house" in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer deemed "safe".

Some of the missing papers from the consulate are said to list names of Libyans who are working with Americans, putting them potentially at risk from extremist groups, while some of the other documents are said to relate to oil contracts.

According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and "lockdown", under which movement is severely restricted.

...An eight-strong American rescue team was sent from Tripoli and taken by troops under Captain Fathi al- Obeidi, of the February 17 Brigade, to the secret safe house to extract around 40 US staff. The building then came under fire from heavy weapons. "I don't know how they found the place to carry out the attack. It was planned, the accuracy with which the mortars hit us was too good for any ordinary revolutionaries," said Captain Obeidi. "It began to rain down on us, about six mortars fell directly on the path to the villa."

Libyan reinforcements eventually arrived, and the attack ended. News had arrived of Mr Stevens, and his body was picked up from the hospital and taken back to Tripoli with the other dead and the survivors.

Mr Stevens' mother, Mary Commanday, spoke of her son yesterday. "He did love what he did, and he did a very good job with it. He could have done a lot of other things, but this was his passion. I have a hole in my heart," she said.

FB1,

That along with the fact that BO has skipped most of his daily intelligence meetings should really make everyone angry. I understand that BO's last attendance at an intelligence briefing prior to this attack was Sept. 5th. He skipped a whole weeks worth of briefings prior to this! I can't begin to adequately describe then anger that is stirred learning these facts.

Can ANYONE defend this community organizer that got pushed into politics and was carefully groomed by voting "present" to avoid taking a stand on anything of importance. He is now in a position that demands that he not only be present, but show strong leadership skills. He fails to even be present.

It's time to vote the bastard out. Failing that it will be time for impeachment IMO. We have stood by for too long while the list of corruption, and dereliction of duty has been tallied. The time for action is upon us.

Have you guys got open minds? If not, this might not be for you. Make of it what you will. Recorded in 2008.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0gNuGK8J3M

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

Gary, love the quote. Hopefully we CAN survive the enemy from within. Each new set of eyes opened brings us one step closer to victory. I pray we're not too late.

quote:

President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton again perpetuated the kind of intellectual dishonesty that cripples the U.S. response to radical Islamists.

The president asserted we have to oppose “the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.”

Clinton reinforced his analysis when she said, “We condemn in the strongest terms this senseless act of violence.”

This concept of “senseless violence” is at the heart of the left’s refusal to confront the reality of radical Islamists.

These are not acts of senseless violence.

These are acts of war.

Sifo, thanks for the link. I've read multiple reports from many credible online news sources in recent days detailing the chosen one's abyssmal attendance record re: the daily intelligence briefings. I'm not at all surprised, however, by his poor attendance record, or his holier than thou attitude about America in general.

Today's "news" cycle hasn't begun to spin up yet. I'm hoping the many demands from Joe Americans for his resignation I read last night on online political forums continue into today. I hope these demands go viral.

Fall on the political sword, Mr. Obama, and take all your socialist chronies with you. It's the only honorable thing left for you to do.

Sifo, I worry that the pretend indignation that's supposedly fueling the attacks against us in the Middle East will start to erupt here and there our OUR soil in the coming days and/or weeks.

The election looms. If the chosen one can't win another term on his merits, might the faux indignation we're seeing play out overseas be a slick tool to seed similar rage here in America? It wouldn't take much to spark a massive coast-to-coast religious wildfire, in my opinion, especially if the flames were fanned by the feckless lapdog media that presently shapes most public opinion.

A wildfire of significant magnitude would, perhaps, provide the perfect rationale to declare martial law, no? The chosen one has done a good job of setting himself up with all the necessary tools, mostly under the radar (see 'feckless lapdog media' comment above).

Just thinking out loud here, watching events unfold in the days counting down to the election and trying to see the bigger picture. Is the tail wagging US in the Middle East?

Pay close attention, America, and vote wisely.

The country you save may be your own.

The Obama administration outs, then abandons, the Doctor who was providing intel to help find Bin Laden. We tossed him under the bus.

The Prime Minister of Israel gets treated like a visiting a convent as we walk along, whistling kumbyah with our hands in our pockets, as Iran finishes development of a nuke.

Boxer Expresses Disappointment Over Israeli Prime Minister's Remarks

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), a senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and a strong supporter of the U.S.-Israel relationship, sent the following letter to Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu:

September 12, 2012

His Excellency
Binyamin Netanyahu
Prime Minister of Israel

Dear Prime Minister Netanyahu:

I write to you as one of Israel’s staunchest supporters in Congress to express my deep disappointment over your remarks that call into question our country’s support for Israel and commitment to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Your remarks are utterly contrary to the extraordinary United States-Israel alliance, evidenced by President Obama’s record and the record of Congress.

As the author of the United States-Israel Enhanced Security Cooperation Act, I know that President Obama’s support for Israel is unshakeable. I cannot tell you how proud I was to stand next to the President as he signed this important legislation into law in July, further enshrining the strong security ties and friendship between our two nations.

As you know, this law addresses many of Israel’s top security priorities, including extending loan guarantees to Israel and increasing the U.S. weapons stockpile in Israel, which is available for Israel’s use in the event of a crisis. The bill also recommits the United States to vetoing any one-sided anti-Israel resolutions at the United Nations Security Council.

President Obama has made clear time and time again that he will do everything in his power to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. During a speech earlier this year, he stated: “I have said that when it comes to preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, I will take no options off the table, and I mean what I say. That includes all elements of American power,” including “a military effort to be prepared for any contingency.” Anyone who has watched our President go after al Qaeda knows that he is resolute.

President Obama has also reaffirmed that Israel has the right to make its own decisions regarding its security, stating that Iran “should not doubt Israel’s sovereign right to make its own decisions about what is required to meet its security needs.” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has also repeated these commitments.

In addition, President Obama has worked tirelessly to enact a crushing sanctions regime against Iran. He has helped rally the international community to make difficult economic decisions regarding imports of Iranian oil in a time of severe economic crisis. Today, the European Union imports no oil from Iran and other countries are reducing their purchases every day. Iran is also completely isolated from international financial markets.

In light of this, I am stunned by the remarks that you made this week regarding U.S. support for Israel. Are you suggesting that the United States is not Israel’s closest ally and does not stand by Israel? Are you saying that Israel, under President Obama, has not received more in annual security assistance from the United States than at any time in its history, including for the Iron Dome Missile Defense System?

As other Israelis have said, it appears that you have injected politics into one of the most profound security challenges of our time – Iran’s illicit pursuit of nuclear weapons.

I urge you to step back and clarify your remarks so that the world sees that there is no daylight between the United States and Israel. As you personally stated during an appearance with President Obama in March, “We are you, and you are us. We’re together. So if there’s one thing that stands out clearly in the Middle East today, it’s that Israel and America stand together.”

Thank you for that statement. I am hoping to hear that statement again.

Sincerely,

Barbara Boxer
United States Senator

That leaves the chosen one with another month and a half until the election, and not 'til after the new year to get the hell out of the WH. Imagine the additional damage that could be done in that time.

Morning Bell: Why Obama Is Failing the Middle East Meltdown and How to Fix It
James Carafano, Sep 14, 2012

The breaking news keeps breaking when it comes to revelations surrounding the attacks and protests aimed at U.S. embassies going on throughout the Islamic world. Protests have spread to at least eight countries. Reports indicate that four people have been arrested relating to the killing of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and three other embassy staff there. That offers at least the promise of getting more information about the deliberate attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., government authorities identified the man behind the controversial film purported as the cause for the protests as Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, a 55-year-old Californian with a shadowy past including many aliases and a criminal record.

Unlike a Brad Thor novel, however, we can’t just jump to the end of the story to find out what this all means for American policy in this troubled part of the world.

But (again, unlike a Brad Thor novel) without cheating we can predict how the story is going to end—because the result of the President’s Middle East policies was predictable from the start.

Obama’s strategy for this part of the world started out much the way Jimmy Carter’s did—with acts of conciliation and accommodation. The President narrowly focused his priorities on three objectives: 1) withdrawing from Iraq as quickly as possible; 2) engaging with Syria and Iran; and 3) transforming the U.S. into a neutral party—to negotiate peace between Palestine and Israel.

For starters, we know that all three of those objectives have met with abject failure.

Why would US authorities even bother trying to identify this guy? It's not like he's accused of doing anything remotely illegal. Identifying him can only serve to endanger him at this point. Should our government really take actions that will endanger it's citizens?

Of course if we want to pass laws making it illegal to produce a really bad movie then we could lock him up for years.

If I've done my research correctly, there are currently efforts underway by individuals in the Middle East to make it an international crime to criticize the M faith in any way, shape or form. I'll just leave it at that for now. Google is (maybe) your friend.

Meanwhile, the hits just keep coming:

Repeating History With Barack Carter
September 14, 2012

We warned last week about the U.S. throwing good money down the rat hole that is the Middle East. Events this week have confirmed just how prescient we were. In what appeared to be a coordinated effort, adherents of the Religion of Peace™ rioted first in Egypt and then in Libya, murdering four Americans in the latter nation, including our ambassador and two former Navy SEALs. Another embassy assault in Yemen followed. It shouldn't be lost on anyone that this occurred on the day that America solemnly observed the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

In the face of it all, the Obama administration continues its failed policy of abandoning friends, bowing to enemies and apologizing for America at every turn. It's uncannily reminiscent of the Carter era. Apparently, all the "hope and change" fomented during the Arab Spring has resulted in quite a spectacular Arab Fall.

In Egypt on Tuesday, protesters allegedly became angry over a film that they claimed insulted the murderous pedophile Mohammed. Reminiscent of their sieges of Christian cities in the 7th and 8th centuries, they scaled the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, hauled down and desecrated its American flags and replaced them with black flags containing Islamic emblems and the words, "There is no God but Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger." The riot prompted U.S. security guards to fire off a volley of warning shots as a large crowd of more than 2,000 angry Muslims (is there any other kind?) gathered outside the embassy. Egypt, of course, is the country for whom the Obama regime just announced it will forgive $1 billion worth of debt to the American taxpayer. And this is the thanks we get.

Of course, BO isn't sure if Egypt is an ally, so the confusion is hardly surprising.

The official response to the initial violence (before the walls were breached) from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo was offensive, at best. The embassy issued a statement condemning "the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims." So Muslim riots and attacks on our embassy -- on 9/11 -- are the fault of some amateurs with a video camera?

BREAKING: Obama Proposes $129M Cut From 'Embassy Security, Construction, and Maintenance'
By Ben Shapiro, Sep 14, 2012

Today, President Obama released the long-awaited “sequestration report,” detailing the cuts the White House would make to the budget under last year’s Budget Control Act if no deal is reached in Congress. And there, buried on page 136, is the White House’s proposed cuts to “Embassy Security, Construction, and Maintenance.” $129 million. That’s a full 8.2 percent of the possible sequestrable amount. It’s a massive slash of the budget for our embassies, consulates, and security abroad.
