Mike thats not a conservative thats a bigot . I have a-- hats like that next door my kid is biracial I had to adjust thier attitude. Conservatism has no color its a concept. and values. That was an example of a lack of values
Buellinmke, get in there and have a discussion with folks, not as a political label, but as Joe. I'm interested in your thoughts and how you think things can be bettered for America.

Please stop equating conservative with "bigot". The primary source of bigotry both today and historically is the progressive / Democratic party. They have played both sides of the bigotry fence (the KKK and the party of Al Sharpton) but it's still bigotry.
I've done a number of trips with Jim (OlDog), and if he is a bigot, he did a heck of a job of hiding it from me.
Around here, the term "porch monkeys" carries racist overtones as well. As does "white trash", "redneck", and "hillbilly". The terms makes me uncomfortable, so I stick to listening to the context they are used in to decide if the statements are racist.

Reep, My bestest friend and in fact almost all my friends are hillbillies. I even have a friends who identify themselves as Tattooed White Trash. Am I bigot? Please tell me I'm just another hick from the sticks. All this PC shite is too much for me.

YOU PRESUME THAT THE REMARK IS RACIAL
One example of a "porch monkey", In the debit ceiling debate, a rep from California is hand wringing about a botanical gardens funding getting cut in the budget cuts "its a national treasure" this guy whines said rep was WHITE, the guy was clueless when You cant buy groceries you don't buy flowers to put in the yard.
BTW I WATCHED THIS LIVE ON C-SPAN
You chose to read a racial value into what I said.
so I will re state >> there are lazy morons on the hill, put there by folks who want a hand out this has nothing to do with color race or ethnicity.

Here's what the Urban Dictionary says about "porch monkey"... A derogatory for a person of african or african american decent. BUT it could also mean a generally lazy person.
Could go either way. Given the way Oldog used the term, referring to a group of congressmen, I'm willing to take him at his word when he says he meant lazy people. Unless the word congress is now a racial slur...

This is nothing new. Buellnmke is obsessed with race as well as lashing out at Badweb members and spouses of Badweb members. Look up his postings using the Badweb Search function and you will be regaled with his wonderful musings.
My advice is to ignore his mutterings. He is trying to hijack this thread which is a discussion about R&R, not Oldog.

Why Mitt Romney's NAACP Speech Got A Standing Ovation By Grace Wyler | BusinessInsider.com, Jul 12, 2012
Amid all the reports and punditry about Mitt Romney's hostile reception at the NAACP conference Wednesday, the standing ovation that the Republican presidential candidate received at the end of his speech has been largely overlooked.
This unexpected audience reaction was triggered by Romney's closing remarks about his admiration for his father, former Michigan Governor George Romney, and the role he played in the civil rights movement despite criticism from his party and his church.
Here's the excerpt:
For every one of us a particular person comes to mind, someone who set a standard of conduct and made us better by their example. For me, that man is my father, George Romney.
It wasn’t just that my Dad helped write the civil rights provision for the Michigan Constitution, though he did. It wasn’t just that he helped create Michigan’s first civil rights commission, or that as governor he marched for civil rights in Detroit – though he did those things, too.
More than these public acts, it was the kind of man he was, and the way he dealt with every person, black or white. He was a man of the fairest instincts, and a man of faith who knew that every person was a child of God.
I’m grateful to him for so many things, and above all for the knowledge of God, whose ways are not always our ways, but whose justice is certain and whose mercy endures forever.

Sorry Rein, Ken was who I was rebutting as I was called a Bigot, and as I found the term has a racial overtone, I should have chosen my words more carefully. I had no Idea that he had children of mixed race, or that he would be offended
the sad thing is that the lefties use race all the time to divide the people, with the jacksons, sharptons, and others playing into that. The death of a teen age boy in florida had the black community up in arms, the real questions got missed, and I bet that Zimmerman walks unless Florida makes some evidence.
I support RR because with the nations debit and economy, My grand children, your grand children, Kens grand children will wind up indentured servants of the government if things are not changed.
I am awe struck in that I am no scholar of history but In most of our life times we have seen the fall of the Soviet Union. The huge government became as Obama wants us to have, and along the line the Russians had more government than producers, and the system imploded.

Well and in my experience and it may be limited being republican does not make one racist however most racists i know are republican.
Andy, nice stereotyping dude. I grew up next to old school,N-word slinging fools. ALL Democrats. I would not have made the "observation" that you just made because I know that Fools don't belong to a single Party...or race. You are a good guy but you have been tripping over yourself multiple times in the past day. Your statement is patently offensive and the underlying implications are just plain false. Get a grip.

DucX1,
Did you watch the speeches of Mia Love, Artur Davis, and Susana Martinez at the RNC? What did you think about these old, white fossils who represent the future of the Republican Party?
Pretty "funny" that MSNBC "conveniently" did not telecast them nor even mention their existence.

I think it was a 19th Century American Statesman named Choates who said, about the time of the Civil War, that, "We are all free, but some are more equal than others." He was talking about capabilities, not skin tones.
