My sister in law's brother (what ever that makes him to me) had a liver transplant about 20 years ago. It's been a bumpy road for him at times, but he has mostly done very well. Do what the docs tell you and stay on the meds! It's amazing what they can do these days.

Stay well, and if you care to share your story, folks want to hear it.

Thanks for all your support and concerns. If I can just help one person avoid this preventable illness, it will all be worthwhile. I am currently writing the whole story trying to leave out the boring details. (All 46,000 useless tests!)
Thanks again, Brian

Hey Guys! feeling great, (like I am 19, again) ready to start working out knowing I can now eat properly. Motivation? This body of mine was headed to the scrap-yard, now I want to race Courtney next summer to get her used to the feeling to losing to her DAD! (I won't race B-man, something about upsetting the whole Time-Space Continuum thing!!!) The next time you have to get lab-work done, or get a Penicillin shot, think about this about this: I now take 35 pills a day, along with 5 injections and 5 blood-draws for sugar levels. My wife is not only is Gorgeous, can ride the crap out a motorcycle, and now does all the "stabbin, drainin and invaitoring all the stuff! Can we bill our insurance for her time?? Stay tuned for mo re info!

Keep strong, rest and recuperate before getting too crazy !
Glad you are coming through it for many more riding seasons.

and yes, there is a provision in the PPACA for the payment and compensation for familial home health care 'providers'
I will find the link and the passage that supports it.
Give me a bit - but I will track it down for you.

My distain and loathe of the bill is no secret. I think in its concept, intent, direction, scope and over-reach; it is a bad bill.
But my angst and hate of it will change nothing, it is the standing in the rain and being upset that you are getting wet.
I am not a fan of Social Security either.
It is bad financing - a lie built upon failed faulty derivative schemes; and it will crash the system. It is just a matter of time - it took the Soviet Union 70 years to collapse - we shall see how long America can endure.

I think that paying a family provider for basic and non medical services is better than paying an expensive provider to do it; so I do indeed support that.
What I don't support is that you would have to be MEDICAID eligible to qualify for it - so offsell any assets you may have - because they are about to be owed to the IRS for the tally on this bill.
I think there should be a named policy guideline to have these services covered - similiar to the coverage that AFLAC already provides -

But until then - There is a provision to pay for home health care providers from domestic care takers

Here is some info to its path

I'm in the same boat as City.

Obamacare will destroy healthcare. I've transitioned over to the hospital acquisition side of the house.

Might as well make money off the collapse of healthcare.
