I felt I could reach more people here then the Parts-Wanted section, don't go a hatin'now!! I just acquired a brand-new 1974 Honda CL-200 from it's original owner. All paperwork included (even the Honda-card!) It has never seen water, and was stored in a climate controlled toy-room! Perfect, except a broken tab on the right side-cover. Help!!! I was doing a quick check for you and ran into a little recall notice in the 1974 CL200! Check the fuel system it said.

Take that puppy the local Honda PowerHouse and ask them to fix the tank!

Of course it was issued in 1977

Nice find just don't cut it up and make a cafe racer out of it OK?

Check with the dealer. Took my 73 cl in and they said honda is still making and distributing parts for cl's.

There is a guy in NH that has for most of my life been the "GO-TO" source for all things in the hard to find motorcycle world. Cycle-Mart in Hooksett, NH. The guy has trailers full of motorcycles and I've used him for many parts over the years for my '77 CB360. I haven't needed anything in a few years, but i'm pretty sure he's still there and I do believe he works mail order. Good luck with your search!

Do you have the broken pieces? If so, you could have it plastic welded, sanded and painted.

Do you have the tab?

Getting the part new does not look good.

Try College Bike Shop in Lansing MI.

They have a ton of old Honda pieces.

It was said that back in the day the owner got the bright idea to take apart new bikes so they would have a parts inventory when the slow boat sank.

Those were very good little bikes. I saw very few dead ones when I worked for Honda. The only "common" problem with them was issues with the old selenium rectifiers. Easy valve adjustments. Replace the "points" with an electronic ignition if you can still find one.

The old 160/175 is popular in amateur road racing still. That might be a direction to look for some parts.

What are you going to do with it? Do you trust all the 38-year-old rubber bits not to be all dried up?
I had to look it up - they look like really nice bikes! Congratulations.

No dry-rot on anything, zero. The climate controlled room it was in kept it from all the ozone and other bad things! Thanks for the help everybody, but nobody has returned my calls or emails. Fast-1075, thanks for the tech-tips! I am a certified Honda motorcycle master tech since 1983, and worked at a major dealership for 7yrs. before leaving due to the off-season (winter!) Will take pics today!

I can't make crap like this up!....

This is a used gas tank off a 1974 Honda CL 200. It does have bullet holes in it as shown. It does have rust inside.
Thank you for looking at an item from Mikes Motorcycle Parts. All parts are shipped out within 2 days of payment clearing, often times even sooner. Look at pictures closely and ask any questions, I try to describe parts as best I can. International shipments take longer sometimes due to items going thru customs so please be patient. Thanks -Mike

guess the bullet holes might be easier to fix than some other issues?
