From the first time I heard him speak and every time afterward I am amazed!
I was talking to a few at work today and told them (they have not heard of him)if they ever get a chance to listen to him, please do. Basic, frank, no-nonsense, intelligent common sense and pleasantly, strong willed!
There is hope for government! Allen West for Pres 2016!
But...but...but....I thought you guys were racist. Obama and his handlers tell us so all the time. OK...Rocco should be checking in anytime now. I need some Rocco to lighten up the day!
Allen is an active rider in so fla I met him before he ran for office . Cool guy he is the same guy in person. Smart tough and has values Every thing the libdemon progs hate a Self sufficent man.
Been watching West for a while, he caught my attention when he had a war of words with, Debbie Wasserman Shultz and rebutted her with few words, when she started the name calling, he bluntly with class said it like it was.
I hope that he lacks any dirt that the garbage mongers can dig up, I believe that he would make a great Vice president this time around and I would vote for him. for president in '16
Oldog: Congressmen West would make a superb VP - I hope Mr. Romney has enough courage and strength in his own convictions to choose such a charismatic, patriotic running mate. I could happily support a Romney/West Pres/VP ticket through 2020, and then a West/Paul Ryan Pres/VP ticket for the next eight years. We could sure undo a lot of democratic damage to our country with 16 years of these men at the helm.
Re: West vs. Wasserman Schultz, he called a spade a spade. Good for him. We need MORE leaders like West, and LESS rock stars, er, I mean, career politicians, like Wasserman Schultz.
It was particularly rich when she said he "cracked under the pressure." I'd laugh if her comment, and the behavior of the DNC in general, wasn't so pathetically sad:
I would probably want meet him in person first.......but think i would follow him into hades with a gas can in each hand..........
Don't think I personally would want him possibly "soiled" running as VP under a marginal candidate......much rather just vote for him as POTUS. The wait is worth it IMHO.
I would probably want meet him in person first.......but think i would follow him into hades with a gas can in each hand.......... Ulyranger, I've had similar thoughts myself, except I don't think I'd have to meet him first.

Again I find my thoughts meshing with yours, but I'm not sure how much longer our country can "wait" for real leadership before we collapse under our own pressure. It'd sure cement my respect for Romney if he had the courage to choose someone of West's caliber as his running mate.
I'd prefer to vote for West right NOW for President, but I'd be willing to patiently wait eight years, providing he was our Vice President during that time...
I've discovered in my research that West is a rider, and a member of the Patriot Guard.
Ulyranger: "Don't think I personally would want him possibly "soiled" running as VP under a marginal candidate......much rather just vote for him as POTUS. The wait is worth it IMHO."
That is where I am at... There is power in his simplicity, depth in his character and strength in his commitment.
Not sure, after all these years, I'm ready to go "PC".
You;d be thrilled to know that Columbia is still getting feedback about the Commencement Address I delivered in 2009. I think, after his visit yesterday,Jack VV can tell you why.
Soros-Backed Super PAC Targets Allen West By Javier Manjarres, July 10, 2012
Top national Democratic operative Charles Halloran has been retained by a new George Soros-backed super-PAC to target Congressman Allen West for defeat this November. Halloran is a former aide to [impeached] President Bill Clinton and is one of the most respected voter targeting/turn out experts in the Democratic Party...
The Super PAC has been christened “Dump West” and is expected to file with the Federal Election Commission early next week. Sources have told The Shark Tank that a website along with a targeted web advertising campaign will soon be launched. Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi asked former Congressman Larry Smith, who’s now working as a lobbyist, to help line up initial funding for the group. West is said to be at the top of Pelosi’s hit list.
FB, just playing devil's advocate. What happens if Romney wins and his Admin turns out like a second coming of GWB, including all the nasty negative coverage........sure you want a West tied in with it? A Washington/Jefferson type candidate could be sitting in the VP seat and not make it.
Anyone but..........
I do see the point of preparing a National stage for him though. Dicey stuff....

Ulyranger, I agree with your reasoning. I suppose the best scenario, at least from a Republican point of view, would be a Romney/"someone else" ticket, someone well respected and without any negative political baggage, and "save" West for four or eight years down the road.
Paul Ryan, perhaps??
I'm firmly in the "Anyone but Obama" camp, to be sure, so for me, Romney MUST be elected as our new president in November. He may turn out to be a great president, but even if he doesn't, he's certainly not the socialist-in-chief that Obama is, systematically destroying our American republic right before our bewildered eyes.
Congressman West doesn't represent me, per se, since I don't live in his district (or in Florida, for that matter), but I will be regularly donating to his campaign fund nonetheless. This country desperately needs more leaders with his courage, conviction and backbone, and I plan to do my part help him get reelected.
I wanted Condi Rice to run, but she's too smart. I doubt she'll leave academe for politics.
Some question her judgment on the Democratization of Iraq as a ploy in changing the culture of the hell that is the middle east. ( she's one of the most hated of the "Vulcans" )
I'm not sure the problem with that is more in execution and the abandonment of the whole idea by the current admin, than the idea itself. At this point, we may never know because the "media" no longer reports news, just spin. There has been a political decision to ignore any success by George's admin. That's been true since the first days of the freeing of Iraq.
You certainly haven't heard a lot about Iraq since the D's decided not to make Iraq a political issue. The success we did have there did not fit the narrative.
It's no surprise that West is being targeted for destruction. Good men speaking truth to power are often the prime target for the established order.
I'm curious, just speculating, mind you, what the R Convention is going to bring. If a sufficiently bad spin can be placed on Romney...... The R's could chose another. Notice that Bloomberg Business Week has a "Mormon Expose". The ongoing repetition of lies about Bain Capital, etc.
On a related note.... One of Obama's Donors ordered the Olympic Athlete's outfits from China. A local Company, Hickey Freeman, http://www.hickeyfreeman.com/about/ has offered to have the Suits ready in time and for less than the Chinese. There are still small pockets of decent hardworking people in America, no matter what Obama anyone tells you.

I've read several Op-Ed's on this subject in recent days. I like and respect Ms. Rice, but....it just doesn't seem like a good fit to me. There would also be the obvious accusations from the left that he chose her simply to court female and black voters. It'd be a bold move, to be sure.
That said, IMO Romney MUST choose a strong, dynamic, well-spoken and out-spoken running mate - I don't think he can afford a Gore/Biden-type, if you catch my drift.

That's an interesting thought. Who comes to mind, particularly this late in the run-up?
Since I'm neither Christian, nor Right, I'm all for Condi. ( I'm also a 'Libber, a Hawk, and a fiscal Conservative along with my Social Liberal 'tude. )
This mix means that no other person in politics has ever made me happy on all subjects. I don't ever expect someone running for Prez to do so.
Fb1, my picks in a Brokered free for all convention? Hard to say.
Condi for Prez, West for VP?
Perhaps Ted Nugent for VP?
I want respect for the Constitution, especially the first few Amendments, and an unwillingness to go to war on a whim, but a determination to end any war quickly, by actually winning.
Condi for Prez, West for VP? That's a ticket I could fully support.
Perhaps Ted Nugent for VP? You'd be hard-pressed to find someone more patriotic, that's for sure.
I want respect for the Constitution, especially the first few Amendments, and an unwillingness to go to war on a whim, but a determination to end any war quickly, by actually winning. Bingo on the respect for the Constitution and everything in it and attached to it, including the Bill of Rights.
Our Founders created, at great cost, the best form of government this planet has ever seen. The cure to what ails America? Simple: Adhere to the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Period.
I've been listening to speeches, interviews, etc. on YouTube of Pawlenty and Portman. They seem like they're squarely on our side, and I understand Romney and Pawlenty have a very strong mutual respect for each other.
What I haven't heard enough of, in my opinion, is deference to the Constitution. For that particular fix, I always end up back at Allen West.
All that said, I'd sure like to see Romney get PISSED for a change. I read over and over that he's scrupulously clean. A pundit said of Romney, "Not only does he not have any skeletons in his closet, he doesn't even have a closet!"
I like to hear stuff like that. How refreshing it would be to have a President who's not a scoundrel.
But.......dammit man, Obama is already fighting dirty in this campaign! You can roll up your sleeves and start slugging back while still maintaining your pride, character and dignity. It's what leaders do!!
