From my Bulk Junk bin:

Good afternoon --

It's July, and because Congress finally took action, 7.4 million students no longer have to worry about the interest rates on their Stafford loans doubling.

That's great news, but it was far from certain. Just a few weeks ago, it wasn't clear that it would happen.

We got this done because of you.

Americans like you spoke up on this issue. You took to Twitter and Facebook. You sent emails and talked to your friends and neighbors. And in the end, your voices made all the difference.

Last week, we sat down with a group of students who were watching this fight closely -- because the choice that Congress made would have an impact on each of them. They talked about what this legislation means, and why it was so important to speak out on this issue.

What they had to say was a powerful reminder of how everyday Americans can make their voices resonate in Washington -- and it's the kind of thing that can get you fired up for the fights ahead. Check it out:

Watch the video

Last year, when you spoke out on extending the payroll tax cut, you changed the debate. We saw the exact same thing last week with the fight for student loans.

These were both huge victories for the American middle class that couldn't have happened without you.

And it's exactly the kind of effort we'll need in the weeks and months ahead.

We're working to make it easier for responsible homeowners to refinance their mortgages. We're pushing Congress to take action to create jobs and get our economy back on track. We're working to reward businesses that create jobs here in America instead of the companies that ship jobs overseas.

And we need your voices in every single one of those fights.

We'll be in touch with more ways you can stand with President Obama to move our country forward. But for now, check out this video to remind yourself of the power you have:

Thank you,

David

David Plouffe
Senior Advisor to the President

P.S. -- If you're a homeowner struggling to refinance your home, we want to hear from you. Learn about the President's plan to help responsible homeowners refinance and share your story:

Wow, I'm tingling all over.

Meanwhile: On Friday David Axelrod, one of Obama's many professional puppeteers, accused Mr. Romney of obfuscation:

quote:

"This is the most secretive candidate since Richard Nixon," Axelrod, appearing on "CBS This Morning," said of Romney.

"What happened after Nixon is we as a country said we need a higher level of disclosure, so people know who their candidates are, what their entanglements are, and we can make judgments on it," he continued. "Gov. Romney and his campaign have stonewalled and are trying to turn the clock back 50 years on transparency and disclosure."

These golden nuggets come from the campaign strategist of a man who, on paper, barely even exists (unless you believe the rampant fantasy found in Obama's autobiographies).

To borrow (and paraphrase) a line from Court: You can't make this shit up.

Disability Ranks Outpace New Jobs In Obama Recovery
By John Merline, Investor's Business Daily, 07/06/2012:

quote:

More workers joined the federal government's disability program in June than got new jobs, according to two new government reports, a clear indicator of how bleak the nation's jobs picture is after three full years of economic recovery.

...The disability ranks have outpaced job growth throughout President Obama's recovery. While the economy has created 2.6 million jobs since June 2009, fully 3.1 million workers signed up for disability benefits.

The Imperial Executive
Barack and George III -- Separated by Centuries, Joined by Doctrine
By Mark Alexander · July 5, 2012

quote:

This being the week designated to celebrate American Liberty, I paused to read the Declaration of Independence, as I do every anniversary of its signing. In that venerable old parchment, our Founders reduced to words the eternal source of Liberty as "endowed by our Creator," and then outlined their grievances against an imperial executive who willfully violated that endowment "which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitled them."

...The comparison between the imperial powers which gave rise to the American Revolution and the imperial presidency which now threatens the Essential Liberty our Founders fought for, and generations of American Patriots have since defended, is unavoidable.

Barack Hussein Obama recently lamented, "It turns out our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change than I would like sometimes." However, he added, "One of the things about being President is you get better as time goes on." Indeed, he has become quite better at forging ahead with his agenda to supplant Rule of Law with rule of men, in flagrant disregard of his Oath of Office.

Jerry,
It's funny you say this. Last Thursday I read aloud the D of I that you posted. I wa struggling to recall the last time I did so, but as I got to the specific grievances against George III, I substituted "Obama" for "He". Not a perfect match, but try it; it's creepy...

People need to understand that the tyranny that the founders spoke of in the declaration of independence was the same sort of tyranny that we are currently witnessing. I hope this can be reversed without bloodshed, but history shows this not to be the case most of the time.

Sifo, I honestly believe that even Obama's staunchest fans are finally waking up to the grim reality of our emporer-in-chief. I predict it won't be long before even the mainstream media turns on him. Then, of course, the concern is what he (and his plethora of puppeteers) might foist upon US in an attempt to retain the reins.

Unfortunately, there's likely a lot of truth in that. Journalism has lost it's ethics of straight reporting and will do what they see to be in their self interest. The drama of the BO administration swirling around the bowl for 4 more years will defiantly sell papers and get eyes on TV news. There's already more than enough scandal to make it a profitable 4 years for the media. Getting a different President is killing the media cash cow.

http://www.rightwingnews.com/column-2/is-president -obama-intentionally-destroying-america/?tw_p=twt

Don't altogether agree with this one.. but I think some has merit.

Do I believe that he wants to “destroy” America, as such? No. In his mind, as warped and foreign as I think it is, he doubtlessly believes he is helping to create a better America — a utopia of sorts. That is, he is intentionally trying to fundamentally transform America into something that he believes would be better but that most Americans — and infinitely more if they understood the full scope of what he is up to — would consider horrific, an America that we would barely recognize as the one bequeathed to us by our ancestors.

To those disgusted with the horror show that is the American Political System, I urge you to vote for anything vaguely human running against The Incumbent Prez.

There's a lot of Conspiracy Nut stuff out about Barack. I'd like to shoot down those I'm pretty sure are uber-bogus.

1. "57 states" Actually, he said there were 60. The 57 he said he'd been to with one more to go and the comment that his campaign wouldn't let him go to Alaska and Hawaii. ( which is where I'd prefer to run too ) So, not 57. 60. And it was a joke. You might hate a guy, and still, he can tell a joke. The sad part is.... most of his audience didn't get it. I laughed. A few others did. It's on youtube.

2. That Barack and Hillary are planning to sign a treaty with the UN to ban private ownership of guns. Ok, that one's probably true. It matches every vote and speech Obama has given on the subject of the 2nd Amendment.

3. Born In Kenya.
Turns out his Grandma thinks so, and he lied that he WAS born in Kenya for 16 years... or to be more precise, he allowed his profile at his book publisher to say so. For 16 years. Someone as completely into himself as Barack Hussein Obama would have read his own ad copy. So he Obviously found it "cool" to be though of as born in Kenya, until it was time to run for President. Based on the fact finding on his "autobiographies" it is now clear that he is unable to resist the temptation to tell a better story than what happened. ( probably ghostwritten... since Bill Ayers says he wrote them )

After all, wouldn't it be great if you'd had the great comeback line at the time, not 15 minutes after the A--hole you wished you'd used it on left? Sure! Wouldn't it be great if your girlfriend lost the argument, and apologized to YOU? ( actually NO! that means BAD THINGS in the real world ) Wouldn't it be great if you were really the hero in all those scenarios involving Justice and Rights and Fairness? Sure.

Well, Barry Soetoro seems to have indulged in exactly that, in print, and made up a better him to present to the planet. Understandable.

The real question is...Are book stores going to move his biography to Fiction, or Psychiatry? An Argument could be made either way.

Either way... No. Not born in Kenya. Perhaps the father was someone else, perhaps the paperwork was faked to allow land ownership, and perhaps perhaps perhaps... but frankly, Who cares? It's not like Obama's ever going to tell the truth on a consistent basis. ( from time to time, in the right crowd, you can hear the real dude. It's not pretty. Even if you are bitterly clinging to your god. )

4. Obama wants to destroy America.
See editorial above. YMMV

5. Obama promised.....
He lies about his mom, his dad, his granddad, his grandmother, every thing he thinks makes him seem bigger and gets him what he wants. He seems less trustworthy than Bill Clinton. That's not easy. ( to be fair, no one alive has complained that Barack raped them. take that as you will. A few did complain about Bill )

And really? You expected any politician to keep a campaign promise? This guy is still lying about his Obamacare not being a tax while and after his own lawyer told the Court it was. Get a grip.

And vote for someone else.

I keep telling you guys... Some kids were bored at M.I.T. and tested foil hats in the anechoic chamber. 3 types, conical dunce, origami boat, crinkled skull cap.

In each case it improved transmission of the freqs used by the CIA.

Only a faraday cage can keep you transmission free.

OTOH there is zero evidence that mind control rays use the EMF spectrum. It might be like trying to stop wind with a FM radio.

So don't worry... even about the Chemtrails.....

What do you think the difference is between a deep conspiracy to conceal the truth, and the regular news?

Nothing. If you could tell the difference, it wouldn't be a deep conspiracy.

Obama's Re-election Strategy: Promising to Raise Taxes
Why The Public Will Reject The President's Latest Campaign Gambit
By Arnold Ahlert, July 11, 2012

...The president is desperate to turn the conversation away from last week's dismal jobs numbers. 80,000 new jobs were added in June, well below anything resembling a genuine recovery, and far less than the 125,000-150,000 jobs that must be created simply to keep pace with the growth of the working-age population. By aiming the increase at the so-called rich, Obama hopes to once again paint the Republican Party as "obstructionist" and their presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, as an out-of-touch, job-outsourcing elitist with little concern for the average American.

...As for outsourcing, Breitbart.com reveals Obama's two biggest fundraisers, John Rogers, CEO of investment giant Ariel Capital Management, and DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, are dedicated outsourcers. Ariel Capital Management owns a $48.6 million stake in Accenture, the nation's number one outsourcer, according to the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals. Katzenburg is trying to outsource jobs to China. Moreover, Obama Jobs Czar and GE CEO, Jeffrey Immelt, has also sent 25,000 jobs overseas while cutting 34,000 domestically. In return for a $50 billion taxpayer bailout from the Obama administration, a "grateful" General Motors has started building cars in China and Mexico to save on labor costs. Throw in three taxpayer-guaranteed loans to Spanish clean energy conglomerate Abengoa, totaling $2.78 billion, and a $529 million loan guarantee to Finnish car maker Fisker Automotive, and the overt hypocrisy of painting Romney as the outsourcer in this race becomes painfully apparent.

Obama's Stump Speech Myths
By L. Brent Bozell, July 11, 2012

Barack Obama has trouble telling the truth.

This is the man who admitted his memoir "Dreams from My Father" was semifictional. "For the sake of compression, some of the characters that appear are composites of people I've known, and some events appear out of precise chronology." Translation: On some pages, I'm taking poetic license with the facts to burnish my image.

The problem is, Obama's still using poetic license. So where are the reporters to point out when he doesn't tell the truth? Let's take just one typical Obama stump speech, on July 5 in Sandusky, Ohio, and look for the fibs and stretches. They're not hard to find.

Romney Stunned by 'Shocking' Obama Comment on Chavez
By Julian Pecquet, 07/11/12

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney slammed President Obama on Wednesday for saying that Venezuela's ties to Iran haven't posed a “serious” threat to national security.

“This is a stunning and shocking comment by the president,” Romney said in a statement. “It is disturbing to see him downplaying the threat posed to U.S. interests by a regime that openly wishes us ill."

...Minutes after releasing the candidate's statement, the Romney campaign piled on with another one from former President George W. Bush chief of staff and New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu saying Obama's words damaged national security.

“When President Obama says, as he did in a television interview on Monday, that Chavez has not had ‘a serious national security impact on us,’ he’s dead wrong," Sununu said. "Such a statement by an American president itself damages U.S. national security by emboldening one of the most anti-American actors on the international stage.”

...The Romney campaign also released a statement from Rep. Connie Mack (R-Fla.) reminding voters that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton herself called Obama's views on Chavez "naive" when she was running against him in the 2008 election.

“Five years ago, campaigning against Barack Obama for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, Hillary Clinton said that Barack Obama’s views of Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan strongman, were ‘irresponsible and frankly naďve,’ " Mack said. "That was right in 2007, and it's still right today."

Separately from the Romney campaign, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a possible running mate for Romney, released a statement Wednesday saying Obama "continues to display an alarmingly naďve understanding of the challenges and opportunities we face in the Western Hemisphere.”

"It’s now disturbingly clear that President Obama has been living under a rock when it comes to recognizing the national security threat posed by Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez," Rubio said.

Outsourcing is a reality of the current economy anyway. I have no beef with it when a company wins the bid fair and square.

My beef with it would be when they win the bid because they are flouting human rights or environmental concerns, or because they are actually subsidized by a nation state.

My other big beef with it is when US manufacturers do it because "everyone else is". Companies I am closely familiar with have had mixed success... you get some short term gains at heavy long term costs (internal expertise and knowledge). Overall, the offshore outsourcing cost is if anything a little more expensive than a hybrid direct hire / local on site contracting. What you do get for the extra money may be important though, you can scale up then back down your workforce very quickly. So if you want to add 60% to your staff for 18 months to get a huge project out, you can do it, and not have to lay off that 60% when the job is done. Like I said though, this comes with efficiency drag, and you loose the ability to discover and keep future great leaders, and once you loose a deep familiarity with your technology, how on earth are you going to distinguish good bids from bad ones?

Obama's main attack is to smear Romney for being successful and rich. The People With No Brains, that is, Leftists and Progressives, buy this argument without the benefit of thought and become vitriolic about Mitt as a result. These same folks eagerly supported Kerry in 2004 and his wealth never seemed to be a problem. These same folks voted for any Kennedy in sight and wealth never seemed to be a problem. These same folks are intellectually and morally bankrupt.

Obama uses class warfare and argues his case with lies which even the media is calling him on. No matter. The truth is not important to People With No Brains. Curious.

Pony Up For Mitt.

I heard on the news here in Australia; Mitt Romney made his vast fortune outsourcing labor overseas.

Source, please? I'm curious if this is exactly what they said, and, more importantly, why they said what they said. It's pretty easy to "shape" the news to fit a particular agenda. Your news source sounds more like a sound bite from David Axelrod*...

In the meantime, please reread this snippet from one of my posts last night:

quote:

As for outsourcing, Breitbart.com reveals Obama's two biggest fundraisers, John Rogers, CEO of investment giant Ariel Capital Management, and DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, are dedicated outsourcers. Ariel Capital Management owns a $48.6 million stake in Accenture, the nation's number one outsourcer, according to the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals. The Obama camp taking Mr. Romney to task for "outsourcing" is ludicrous. Sadly, about the only ammo left in their clip, after three and a half years of the worst presidency this nation has ever seen, is cheap shots at their opponent. Expect this trend to continue and grow, however; it's the only thing they've got to fight with.

On a related note, I hear that Nancy Pelosi made millions of dollars from her offshore investments last year. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

quote:

On the heels of The Weekly Standard’s report yesterday that DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz — a vocal critic of Mitt Romney‘s investing practices, had herself dabbled in the foreign markets — we can add Nancy Pelosi to the list of prominent Democrats to profit from overseas investments.

According to Pelosi’s 2011 financial disclosure statement, the Democratic House Minority Leader received between $1 million and $5 million in partnership income from ”Matthews International Capital Management LLC,” a group that emphasizes that it has a “A Singular Focus on Investing in Asia.” A quick trip to the company website reveals a featured post extolling the virtues of outsourcing.

“Designed in California, Made in Manila”sounds like an excellent title for a smear ad to be run the by the Barack Obama campaign. Instead, it appears to be Nancy Pelosi’s investment strategy.

Obamacare Now Estimated to Cost $2.6 Trillion in First Decade
