My favorite movie of his was where he played a train conductor and battled with hitchers back during the depression. I think it was called A#1 or something. Anyone else remember that movie. Great actor.
He did a movie about Hoover back about 10 yrs ago with Deke Deloach that was an interesting take on the J.E.H. story. IIRC, Deloach was a Deputy Directory of some sort under Hoover and fairly close to the man.
Anyway, to rack up over 200+ film and TV credits is impressive, especially for a guy who survived being married to Ethel Merman.

Anyway, there is a growing call for an Ernie Borgnine statue (depicting his 30 year history with our town) as the Head Clown in the Great Circus Parade.
