Yeah, ol Ernie will be missed. He and Tova were our Grand Marshall(s) several times for the Circus Parade.

Missed you Chris for HC this year! We re-did your "bed"! No more sinking into the floor!

Really?!

Heck, Crusty, just remember that he was an ACTOR, and they ALL must be liberals, garonteed ticket to HELL and such.

Ernest Borgnine was one of the greats, old school, one of the fading few from a lost era.

WHY in the HELL should you worry about bullshit like that?

Jeez!

RIP, Lieutenant Commander Quentin McHale. I grew up watching that show in glorious B/W.

Here's one of his more memorable (and recent) interviews:

86129squids, Hollywood is a slime pit of liberals, like Tom Selleck, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger and that liberal icon Ronald Reagan...

Well, since the subject has been broached, wonder if good ole Andy Griffith was one flavor or the other?

Heck, look what "Opie" grew up to be...

Oh, nevermind.

RIP Mr. Borgnine.

My favorite movie of his was where he played a train conductor and battled with hitchers back during the depression.
I think it was called A#1 or something.
Anyone else remember that movie.
Great actor.

He did a movie about Hoover back about 10 yrs ago with Deke Deloach that was an interesting take on the J.E.H. story. IIRC, Deloach was a Deputy Directory of some sort under Hoover and fairly close to the man.

Anyway, to rack up over 200+ film and TV credits is impressive, especially for a guy who survived being married to Ethel Merman.

We've got the "Bronze Fonz" along our riverfront in Milwaukee. Happy Days was supposedly shot from Milwaukee...

Anyway, there is a growing call for an Ernie Borgnine statue (depicting his 30 year history with our town) as the Head Clown in the Great Circus Parade.

I think this is a great idea!
