Ok, Froggy, it has twice as many wheels as we'd like, but it's still cool...

Really sharp car - seems to have a lot of electrically powered gizmos for an electric car, lol. 300 mile range, wow.

I'm curious how much the $50k entrance fee would be if they weren't trying to build these things in the most expensive area of the country for both labor and real estate...

As far as I'm aware, the car is built by Lotus in the UK & only has the driveline installed in the US.

Models for this side of the pond have drivelines shipped over & installed in Hethel.

I had a Tesla pass me on the Autoroute in Switzerland last year, he cruised gently up the side of the rig behind another car, & when that one pulled in front of me he floored it.
I didn't know at that point that it was in fact a Tesla, so i'd buzzed down the window to hear better, severe disappointment when all it did was go fssst, & disappear into the distance.

That would be the tesla roadster. The S is a new model that's all 'merican.

I wonder if they fixed the battery draining 'brick' problem?

Still only goes fssssst though.

Oh & those door handles, do they pop out automatically in case of an accident?

As far as I know Nik, they have NOT fixed that problem.

For those of you not familiar, if the battery in a tesla reaches zero it is completely and totally destroyed. You cannot even push the car, the wheels will not roll. I believe the price for a new battery was in the $30,000 range, but I could be mistaken.
