His influences are trickling down to personal levels.
The family and I were at a fourth of July parade. No one on either side of the lined streets, except for us, acknowledged, removed their hats for, stood up, saluted, hand over heart for our flag as our colors were presented at the lead of the parade by the local Color Guard.
I guess when the President won't honor the flag, not much need for ordinary folk to do so. But by golly they will pronounce their Americanism. They have just forgotten what to stand for! |

You mentioned that Obama "* Idolizes unions." As a union shop stewart for many years I can tell you he hates unions! He uses unions. He only wants his cut of our dues!! He and his elitist groups refer to union members as useful idiots. The problem is that it's true for the most part. The union tells it's member how to vote and trusting their leadership they do it. Too bad they're being lied to. When I talk politics nobody believes I'm in a union but my union has lied to me and our leadership has joined the socialist movement. I don't get out of "Big, Bad,and Dirty" very often, just not enough time, but I'm glad to see people getting a clue as to what this con man in the White House really is. He is a Charlatan being controlled by those who hate America.

Etennuly---I can't believe you are blaming Obama for the people in your town not taking off hats the and honoring the Color Guard. GET REAL! That is the responsibility of the parents and the patriots of your town....not Obama. I can't believe this. We have to take some responsibility for our own actions.(Carol) |

I have to agree, Obama's "crotch salute" just shows he never learned anything about American Customs during his formative years. Just like your neighbors, but with a far better excuse, he was raised as a foreigner until the 5th grade. Lets face it, by 5th grade your local schools don't teach a darn thing about patriotism, and the Preppy school Barack attended in Hawaii pretty obviously didn't.
Also, consider the times. the 1970's were a time of rebellion against the established order, a time when the Pledge of Allegiance was rejected ( for the Patriotism, not the mention of a God that offends so many arrested development atheists today ) and saluting the flag was passe. The Vietnam War and the Soviet influence in academe was ramping madly up. ( and has not stopped, but gotten meaner and less tolerant. There's a reason the many "right wing" speakers don't lecture at colleges anymore... )
In short, you can't blame Barry for being a product of his upbringing. Dogs raised by wolves are not domestic. Obama is just a more extreme case than the other spectators at the parade.
If you want to complain that Obama is a horrible example for todays youth with his GenX/Bart Simpson "not my fault" attitude, then I can agree with you, whole heartedly, but his narcissism, and inability to take criticism has only had 3 years to infect others, so we just can't blame him for every aspect of societal decay. He's a result, not a cause. ( those things he causes are bad enough. )
( note to atheists that are NOT arrested development cases screaming at the notion of the mention of God. I'm not talking about those who have taken a spiritual path and adopted a moral code and world view independent of established religion. I'm talking about the 50+ year old spoiled brats that want to tear down crosses. Because their spiritual journey ended abruptly with "Mom is wrong and I hate you!". You know what you believe, and I bet those eternal adolescents annoy you for the hostility they bring to the entire idea of reason and personal spiritual growth outside ancient myth structure. Carol it is true, our localities need to stand up and be responsible. Given that, communities like mine respond to leadership who will do the same. A President who will stand up and salute the American flag and do the other things that are considered normal patriotic duties, and do it in a prideful way, will inspire from the top.
For so many years the dumbing down of our education systems is working(not blaming Obama, just the office).
I'm done taking this thread off line, sorry folks. |

I do get your point about leadership.
I was somewhat disappointed that Bill Clinton's term didn't take place back when I was In high school. Only because his leadership in sexual distortion making oral sex "not sex" started a wave of promiscuity I missed in my youth... darn it. 
( in quavering old man voice, waving cane )... "yeah, sonny, back in my day if we didn't hold our hands over our hearts as the flag passed, the grownups would smack you right in the head..... speaking of head.... the girls thought oral sex was sex and......."
Now I know how all the old farts that missed the sexual revolution of the 70's feel.... |

Indeed, Obamacare contains many tax increases, a point that Republicans have failed to seize on. The Obama administration, indeed, is flailing, because its no-tax lie at the inception of Obamacare is now being further compounded by its continued insistence, even in the wake of the Roberts decision, that Obamacare is not a tax. For days now, Obama officials, such as White House chief of staff Jack Lew, have been insisting that the tax is a “penalty,” not a tax. Meanwhile, White House press secretary Jay Carney, going off-message a little, insists that “it is not a broad-based tax.” If the MSM were doing its job, the Obama administration would be torn up over these inconsistencies, but as we know, the MSM feels that it has a different job.
For their part, Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, along with the rest of the Democrats in Congress, are equally determined to shy away from the “T” word--they will not admit that a duck is a duck. It’s time to “move on,” they say, as if the American people are sheep to be herded along by their masters.
The Obamans and the Democrats are sticking to this line because they know that to be labeled as the dishonest purveyors of the largest tax increase in history is a killer for them. And so, like vampires fleeing from sunlight, they are retreating back into the darkened recesses of their own deception. But the problem is that the further they stand away from the glare of public opinion, the more it becomes obvious that they are indeed vampires.
Not to put too fine a point on things, Obama has misled, or dissembled, a total of three times: First, he misled by insisting that the original legislation was not a tax increase. Second, he continued to say that it was not a tax increase, even as his lawyers were saying it was. And third, his people continue this misleading charade even after it has been exposed as false.
So, it's not something that the R's made up??? ... the Act IS a pile of tax and regulatory increases with a monster bureaucracy attached... with armed troops to enforce obedience.
It's a good thing I don't do Romney's ads. A list of companies, and very, very wealthy individuals, who donated multiple tens of thousands to Obama's Eternal Campaign, the amount they gave, the amount they got of taxpayers money, and the number of people laid off in each company as the "green jobs" plans generated massive wealth for a few, little to no product, and mass lay offs as the Donors to The President left town with the cash..... If I did such an ad, with all facts checked and verified, I'd be a ....racist! ( or a Nazi-like Denier! depending on if I used the word "green" in a derogatory manner.... ) Come to think of it, I'd be labeled both.

It's funny that I can agree with Rev. Wright on some subjects, just as I agree with Rush... on some subjects.
I would substitute a few words in his rant,( Lefty for white, American for African ) but he is a preacher of the Church of Liberation Theology, American Black Urban, and has that as his start and end. ANY view he has is colored by the basis of a religion of envy, hatred, and marxist revolution.
Just as in a medieval monk's commentaries, the rose is not red, it is the red of the Blood of Christ, or to an Attic Greek, the weather is the mood of the Gods, so Rev. Wright will see racism, while I will see political manipulation.
The funny part Is... we agree that the high priced diploma mills and rich white liberal indoctrination centers screw up anyone who buys their riff.
I might even support a 20 year moratorium on Yale and Harvard Grads as President. ( I'd even accept Rev Wright's list for such a moratorium )
I mean, if he went to Harley Mechanics School, do you trust them with your 1190R? |
