All good (and great) things must come to an end, I suppose, but this is a fave:

Oh well. Let's hope Groening publishes a full Life In Hell anthology...

They killed Bugs Bunny and Road Runner - many years earlier - the have been dubbing out the kabooms and splats, and mock deaths for at least two decades.
PC's damn social creep.
I suspect the same for Watterson - he was too on topic many times if you know the philosophic battles between Calvin and Hobbes (the historical debates)

My fave of his is

City- GAWDDD I remember when they started editing that stuff out- I suspect Tipper had something to do with that... made me madder than hell. Tom and Jerry were just phased out altogether.

I grew up with ALL of the Merry Melodies/Looney Tunes (somehow the latter were always better!), once had a 6 hour VHS of some of the oldest ones, including a cross-dressing Bugs and one or two that lampooned Hitler- lost that tape to my great chagrin.

I think C&H was mothballed when Patterson saw all the redneck "Calvin-piss" stickers ripping him off.

Anyhoo, Life In Hell, in all its various flavors, will be missed.

I remember reading he was very adamant about not licensing ANY Calvin & Hobbes products (dolls, stickers, etc.). I wonder if he made much effort to shut down the rip-offs?
