they do the same thing to Sportster owners.

And I usually find that the ones that say it, only ride in the sun, only ride to 'events' and have never dared to be off road on their chrome machine

meh.

If you don't like the bike I ride, you can purchase my next one.

Back in 2000,I was sitting at a signal waiting for it to change,When a couple of girls in a '78 Camaro pulled up next to me.The driver looks over and says "you know what that is?",no says I,"thats a Jap crap crotch rocket".
OK,but it's a crotch rocket with a Harley motor,I said as I wheelied away from the light.

Jeremy, I drove past half a dozen watch factories this afternoon, including Rolex, at Plan les Ouates, just outside Geneva.

Was on my way home from getting a front tyre for the M2.

It'll be back on the road in a week or so.

IMOA , Because we dont fit the mold set forth by HARLEY ,FORD ,CHEVY , DODGE .

American Muscle !! Go fast in a straight line .And dont forget the cup holders and sound system,if you can here it .

I wanted an American made sport bike , and I have one .

I like not fitting the mold.I think thats what makes us what we are .

BUELLERS.

I mostly get positive reactions but the ones who throw negativity my way are the ones that think "the 2004 r1 in black is the best bike ever built" which just happens to be what they own. I've gotten "if you want a sportbike buy a busa", "That's not a real Harley" and "you're not a real biker" none of which I find insulting. I could careless what people think of me or my bike. I ride because I like to twist a throttle and gobble up miles of road. My buell seems to like it as much as me.

I used to work at an HD/Buell dealer.
I doesn't take very long to tell the posers from the motorcyclists, usually less than 5 seconds.

My favorite comment came one day as I pulled up to the dealer on my X1 & 3 semi-retarded pirates said, "Hey Bob, are you sure the owner will allow you to park that Jap-crap in front of the store?"
I said "Why not? He allows new ones to be parked in the showroom..." I left 3 very confused guys standing at the door.

I now work at a BMW/Ducati/Triumph dealer, the Buell always seems to attract only positive comments here...

It's just like getting crap from Rolex owners because I wear an Omega...

I'm afraid the watch thing passes me by.

I can understand the craftsmanship & all that schtick, but all I want is to know what the time is, my cheapo digital will do that just as well as thousands worth of Rolex.

And I really couldn't give a flying whatever about those folk who live by brand names.

If it does what I want it to do in the way I want it to do it, at a reasonable cost, that's enough for me, I don't care whose name is on it.

Do you mean "using judgment," or "being judgmental?" Overall, I give them high points for heritage, and a 5 for style.

That says it all for me too mate and I will add since becoming a Bueller in 2003 I also appreciate the company, Now EBR, for their honesty, integrity and perseverance to give me the best street sportbike I have ever ridden.

I don't know. Maybe its different here in the frozen north, but I only get positive reactions and especially from the guys on Harleys. Maybe its because I have one and know a lot of them but everyone is really just motorcycle crazy here. Wherever I stop, people come look, sportbike guys, cruisers. I have probably had 20 or more people ask if they can trade me for my 1125 (no deal). The only ones a little standoffish are the adventure bike people, and well, mostly the ones with upper end ones.

I've only ever had a half dozen negative comments. Harley folks generally love what they ride and couldn't give a rats what I or anyone else rides.

The few who have given me grief created substantial doubt that they ride or even owned motorcycles. You don't need an endorsement to buy a sticker for your car or a T-Shirt for your back. My main hangout is predominantly HD. Never even had a sideways glance.

I like mechanical watches for the same reasons I like motorcycles, the mechanical aesthetics.

Sure there are ways to tell time that are more accurate and cheaper. Then again, there are easier, more convenient ways to get from point A to B. A car perhaps. Technically on a price per pound standpoint, motorcycles are more expensive than cars, they are less convenient as well.

We appreciate them for what they bring mechanically, aesthetically, and metaphysically.

There is simply something beautiful about a shiny metal box of a couple hundred metal parts spinning at 28,000 RPMs that can keep the time to within a couple seconds a day that fascinates me.

I like how this thread was titled about Buell owners being judged....and then proceeds to add in a story about a Honda.

Some people are jerks, big deal, why get so worked up over what a stranger thinks about what you ride?

I did not realize that due to my topic title I was not allowed to post about another motorcycle manufacturer. I will be more careful next time.

I have been a Sportster rider for many summers, a buell rider for the last two, and have encountered a lot of prejudice amongst other patch holders. they only shut up when mesmerized by my TAIL LIGHT! Or at least i can't hear them. Unlike many, the club I belong to does not REQUIRE harley ownership.

Jeremy, I understand what you mean.
I get the same thing about baseball "Oh thats just some guys with a stick & a ball"
You either get it or you don't, it's no biggie.

One of things I love about riding a Buell is that most people are interested in it because it's different, the a-holes are few & far between generally.
Another thing is that nobody asks me to join their club, which suits me just fine as I'm not a club kind of person. (I have a baseball bat if I need a club.)

I had a guy pull up in his C4 today while I was adding air to my front tire. He asked "what is that"? I pointed to the airbox which caused a confused look on his face. "Where is that from?", I said Wisconsin, more confused looks. He then goes on to tell me he has a "Ducati Streetfighter." I said have a nice day and motored away.

How many would REALLY get the same jollies out of an electric motorcycle vs. an ICE motorcycle?
