Anyone here ever been riding when an earthquake hit? Texas has been having tremors lately. I'm not too worried about it. I was just wondering what it's like.

I was washing my bike when the central Va. quake happened last summer (~35 mi from epicenter). Even though I'd never experienced one before, I knew right away what is was. Nothing could cause the ground to bounce like that except a quake. I might not have even noticed it if I was riding - or maybe I would have thought it was a bearing going out on me!!

I know its not a bike, but I was driving my work truck last year when the earthquake hit Virginia and didn't feel a thing. The suspension and tires dampened everything . I did not know it happened until I pulled into the office. I was pissed. I wish I could have experienced it. I would assume it would be similar on a motorcycle.

I had a 38' x 16' x 8' crate that weighed approximately 20,000 pounds on my trailer when a 5.0 rolled through.

I was sitting my cab updating my log, and I noticed the State Trooper in front of me got out of his car and started looking around and waving at me. When I looked in the mirror, the other troopers were also out of their cars gesturing to each other and my crate was wiggling around on the trailer.

I couldn't feel a thing really, other than my CB microphone was kind of bouncing on it's bungee cord.

I've experienced many quakes during my life. The only ones I feel is when I'm awake and not in a vehicle.

Had several friends who were driving their cars during the '89 Bay Area quake. They all said it fell like they suddenly "had four flat tires". Nobody I knew was riding their bike at the time.

I have a GPS log where I was going in front of Kings Island at the moment of a small Ohio quake. didn't feel a thing, and that was on a 9sx.

In an earthquake I would stand up on my Uly's pegs.
