Why a perspective employer ask for my last two paychecks? I have never had some ask befors and its bothering me... seems like it would give them ammo to lowball me. Thoughts?

Tell them you're happy to provide a stub so they have your personals (name, addy, SSN, etc) as proff of identity but you're going to blank out the financials. See what they say.

Did they already ask for your current salary? It's just a way of verifying the information you provided. If you were truthful, then the only information they gain is that you have been honest.

It also allows them to check that you have actually been employed at your current job where you have probably checked a box asking them to not contact your current employer.

While I've never heard of this being done before, it does give them a way to verify your most recent employment history without jeopardizing your current situation.

I once had a headhunter contact my current boss to set up an interview for me that sounded like it fit my experience perfectly. That kind of let the cat out of the bag!

yeah blank them out if they comment on it then say "well show me yours, then I'll show you mine" lol but really that's too personal and not relative to any prospective employment situation

What everyone else said about redacting the financial data. It still strikes me as very odd though. Buyer beware.

I once had someone call me on a Saturday morning for a phone interview. I gave the interview and didn't think anything of if and they ended up offering me a job and I accepted it.

I guess I should not have been surprised to find out the manager that made that phone interview on a Saturday expected me to work on Saturday's.

That sounds strange to me.
I wouldn't have complied with that request.

P.S. I have also in the past got a call from a headhunter via my boss's phone!
My boss enjoyed watching me rip into him at least.

I've had to do that for the last two companies I've worked for. They actually asked for it after they'd already given me an offer, so I figured no big deal (I didn't lie to them about what I was making anyway).

Am I the only one who attaches unedited pay stubs to a resumé?
