Andy,+1 to what everyone else has said.Don't put yourself down, please. It takes a lot of "strength" to do what you're doing now and you are /were a better son to your dad.You got to be with him up till now and now you and the family and friends need to "rally around" your mom; She's going to need all the spiritual thoughts, prayers and positive help/support through these times. My father died when i was 4 years old and didn't get a chance to really know him"one on one"...he didn't get to watch us grow up and we didn't get to grow old with him. You,on the other hand, got to experience that and i envy you and everyone else that got to experience that.Take a positive from all this,Andy.Yes it is truly a sad time, but remember all the GOOD times that you had with him and the good times that your mom and dad had together.Focus on the good thing to make it through these times.I lost my mom in '05 as well so i focused on all the great positive times growing up and how cool she was, laid back(kind of like how i am).At least you have others to rally around/with you in these times. Many a prayers and positive thoughts are going your way from many of us here and elsewhere.LT

Andy
I know from my own recent experiences that "sorry for your loss" does not begin to cover it. Your healing has begun, but it will take time to come to terms with what has occurred.

This is so sudden, you had no time to prepare.

Call on your friends. Surround yourself with family and take comfort that you will feel better as time moves on. What is now pain transforms itself to a beautiful memory in your heart.

I feel for you and I hope that your mom has a full recovery.

Just talked to Andy. His mom made it through surgery. She had broken ribs, punctured lung, broken nose (where her face hit the helmet), hand and foot injuries.

Both his parents were wearing armored jackets, helmets, gloves and boots... but the kid (26 year old) who made a left turn into their right of way didn't leave them any time to react.

He said, if there are no complications his mom should pull through. I am sure she will have some emotional trauma.

Andy asked that if you ride with your pegs down and take some photos of your bikes with your pegs down to please post them up here. He said he would show them to his mom, as she loves to ride too.

His dad sounded like a really good guy who just loved to ride his Beemer. Considering what Andy has been through he sounds pretty good. They are trying to get some of his dad's organs donated at this point.

He said he would post up later.

Thanks,
Charlotte
