One that I hadn't heard of before. I see the date is last year on the report.

very cool concept... on paper anyway, i'd like to see it run.

it just screams "diesel" to me.

with that much "boost", i'd imagine the bottom end would have to be as heavy-duty as a diesel. And with that cylinder firing every cycle, i'd imagine heat management would be a huge hurdle.

definitely seems like a bottom-end-torque kinda motor... if they actually get it going.

that was my thinking as well just think how often you gotta do top ends on 2 stroker?

I think it'll be ok as long as they use a transmission

This is just a variation on a very old design. Using one cylinder to fill another is old news indeed. Had a Puch "twingle", sold at Sears in the 60s.

Nothing about a two-stroke cycle inherently makes the pistons last less. Many large GM diesels are two-strokes.

Seems to work here pretty well:

also kinda reminds me of a stirling motor, the way one piston acts as a compressor for the other...

look them up, they're pretty cool. one of those project i intend to eventually get around to. Stirlings still intrigue me.

Also looks similar to an air-cooled engine Ferdinand Porsche was working on back in the late 30's to power the new Beetle (People's Car). Overheating killed it, should have been water cooled.

I was given a Puch twin cyl motorcycle when I was young. I never did make it run. Turns out it wasn't a twin at all, one cylinder was a supercharger for the one that fired. In fact, it seems very similar to this design.
