I used to live about three miles from the headquarters of the John Birch Society, which was in Belmont, Massachusetts. They had a flag on display 24/7 and would have it well lit at night. The front of the building had the words AMERICAN OPINION (the name of their magazine/newsletter) in large stainless steel letters over the front door. I drove past it almost daily for years.
