This morning I set out on a ride. My glasses kept fogging up. Nothing wrecks my day faster than not being able to see. The dominoes started to fall: lose concentration, lose my cool, lose all semblance of confidence.

To heck with it. I went home to play with my dog.

I've tried Cat Crap, and that seems to make things worse. Opening the visor a crack is OK for a minute, but at speed my eyes tear up and I can't see.

(Whine, whine, whine...)

What to do?

Get a helmet with some ventilation.

Or, get a helmet that has no visor with some optically corrected goggles.

Blaze anti fog. Works on shield, glasses, car windshield, you name it.

When you're as cold blooded as I am, nothing fogs up.

I use Ops Drops, mainly because I get them free with every pair of ESS ballistic glasses that the Army issues me.

There's plenty of ventilation with my 3/4 open helmet that I prefer to use... but I use these drops on my goggles for skiing and snow-blowing the driveway. They work fairly well.

I think I had all my vents open. The visor didn't fog too badly - just the glasses.

The idea of little plastic things in my eyes give me the creeps. But then, so does not seeing well.

Thanks all.

I had a Fireman in my Riders Edge class this past weekend. The "Fog" question came up as it always does. He said that he and his fellow Fireman use baby shampoo. They take a cloth with the baby shampoo on it and rub it into the inside of their face shield. He said to rub it in until you can no longer see it and it will not fog up.

Its cheap... what could it hurt??
I'm gonna give it a try....

Firemen use baby shampoo for 2 reasons.
1. it works pretty good.
2. It smells bad as it vaporizes, but is far less nasty to breath than many commercial products.

As it was explained to me, by the time the bad smell from the shampoo hits, all you can smell is burning hair anyways.....
