At the end of today's NPR "All Things Considered"... Katherine Russell and her guitarist, LIVE in studio- holy cow!! I'll be buying her new CD... She has been a backup singer for EVERYONE, loves jazz/blues/gospel, her mom and pop both hugely talented musicians, and this album has songs going back to the '30's... I'll try to find and post more info and links later...

Dave Grusin, "The Gershwin Connection", on CD, LOUD, on a summer afternoon, with the windows open, in February. Put it on your hi-fi, and select "Fascinating Rhythm". Then just let it go.

George Harrison would have been 69 today, so I'm on a Beatles kick. May need to watch the Anthology DVD's this weekend. Here's a different version of Norwegian Wood. Love the sitar on this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH8mj5BCXVk

Well my Landrover needed some fettling (when doesn't it) so I spent yesterday pulling the lump & today sorting it. All this done under my terrace with the laptop & speakers blasting away, educating the neighbours. Here's one of the tracks I was howling along to underneath the Discovery.

In honor of his passing on Saturday, March 3 (http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/670248.html?1330918353 ), I've been listing to one of my favorite guitarists, Ronnie Montrose: (the words to this one are just a bit ironic- Ronnie was 64) RIP Ronnie.

Been hung up all week on Mark Knopfler. Here's "Are We In Trouble Now" - I especially enjoy the last third of the song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7i2GXHjYXQ&feature =related

Wiki: Voyager 1 and 2 both carry with them a golden record that contains pictures and sounds of Earth, along with symbolic directions for playing the record and data detailing the location of Earth. The record is intended as a combination time capsule and interstellar message to any civilization, alien or far-future human, that may recover either of the Voyager craft. The contents of this record were selected by a committee chaired by Carl Sagan. It includes this Blind Willie Johnson recording: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-4jTbrLtUk&feature =fvwrel

Well the weather here is outstanding, I'm not working, my "honey do" list is down to manageable proportions, & I've got a new front tyre, so yesterday was riding day. Which inspired me to post this.
