Lou has been on my list of folks I want to meet for some time. I will get him and Carol on my prayer list now. I have been enjoying him on facebook and still intend to shake his hand. Lou get things fixed and get out of there! You have lots of pickin' and ridin' to do before you go riding off into the sunset.
Jim, hopefully there's a plan already in progress. I'm not sure if Ann's talked to Carol at all other than texting. Oil's been changed, and the tanks full, all I need is the OK.
Lou is a friend that I have never met..... with almost daily interaction on facebook. He truly"gets it" in everything he does.Silly, serious or fun,he ain't afraid to show it all. Always a pleasure to see what he is up to. Hang in there Lou!
Hybridmomentspass, In Lou's situation love, prayers, a little good luck and karma will do the trick. Although, since you live in the neighborhood, you should join us in May for Big Jim's Ride. Look for a thread on Storm Fronts soon. God willing and guiding the hands of his good doctors Lou will be pickin' and singin'. Still amazed by the friends here. Words fail. Thanks.
As others have mentioned above, Lou is on my bucket list. Ever since the first time I heard of the guy and started following him on FB I decided I had to meet him in person. I am now praying that I will get that opportunity.
Hang in there Lou, you have MANY people pulling and praying for you.
Jim,thanks for the info.Kept seeing mentions of something on FB but not what.Knowing Lou he will kick some butt and be out in no time. Good JUJU sent his way!
Carol called last night. As you can imagine, she's wore slap out. She said the doctor called his type of heart attack the "widow maker" They're gonna be checking out what they've put in so far, and if that's holding on like it ought to, they're gonna stint the worst artery. Then if all goes according to plan he'll be home Tuesday. Then back six weeks later to install the rest. Had he just been going for a heart screen they would have wanted to do a bypass times five. While y'all are sending your thoughts, prayers, karma, good juju Lou's way, add a little something something for Carol too. She's not had to spend the night alone ever since they got married.
Thanks for the update! It's going to be rough at the Usher household for a while. Keeping that old buzzard contained long enough to heal up may be an adventure. They will BOTH be on my list!
Got a phone call from Lou a few minutes ago. He and Carol both appreciate the following here on BWB and all the love. He gets 2 more stints on Monday and should be released Tuesday. Says he wants to play at the Blue Heron on Wednesday night. I could faintly hear Carol in the background... I believe she said, "No you're not." Thank God most of us have good spouses keeping us in line.
Carol, we know ya got your hands full but we sure appreciate you doing everything you can to keep Lou on the right side of the dirt.
And this is also why we've all taken up riding motorcycles with you. You get in enough trouble with us there sometimes .
Keep smiling Lou! Be thankful you play the guitar and will be able to continue to touch people's heart with music. My Daddy played the drums in a country band and after his first heart attack the doctor put a quick halt on his drum playing days. That was back in the early 80's. I'm sad that he no longer plays, but thankful that he's still here and can enjoy his grandchildren. He had open heart surgery 9 years ago and says it's the best he's felt in years.
Bottom line...take care of yourself and listen to your docs and Carol! You have a lot more living to do.
Carol, if you need tie downs to keep Lou put until he's 100% cleared from docs, let us know! I'm sure we can scrounge up something to keep him close to home.
