Funny that the people posting comments are all upset that it's promoting violence against women. Easy to tell that they've never had their "bottom knocked out" before. Probably the kind of people that would yell "Rape!" over a tickle-fight.
My girlfriend and I are going Vegatarian-ish (we're only eating meat about once a week). Mostly for the health benefits, partly because I've always hated mass-farming of meat. I know it's a necessary evil but it doesn't mean I have to like it or take part. My ultimate goal will be to one day have a small farm like the one I grew up on and raise my own cattle, chickens, and pigs. Animals eating animals is natural. But modern mass farming is cruel. It also produces poor meat.

One of my preferred dinners is pan-fried calves liver. (A little butter, some garlic, parsley & a squeeze of lemon juice. Served with Mash & gravy on the side.)
Scream all you like, I was born to be an omnivore & I'm staying that way.

Eating meat once a week is not vegatarian-ish, at least I don't think so. Not saying it's not a good thing, but you can't be "sort of" a vegetarian.
I don't know how anyone can promote veganism as being a healthy way of living - anyone I know who claims to be a vegan either lies or is sick all the time.
I don't comply 100% of the time, but I believe in the caveman diet - that is, mother nature wasn't dumb and we were designed to eat what was availible to us. Mostly vegetables and fruits, protein (including meat, eggs, nuts etc) and limited grains as they are mostly an engineered plant and don't exist in nature on their own.

I was in a Whole foods meeting once and the woman speaker came from california office... spoke of horrifying stories like... developing better ways to make veggies last longer on long trips across the usa via trucks. Like... scientists finding and using a gene in Salmon.... and adding it to the tomato gene and developing juicier and longer lasting healthy tomato's. I thought it was a fantastic idea! Or... good just science. I didn't last very long there....

Why I applied the -ish, we're easing into it. At some point we'll stay full vegetarian... for a while. We're not planning to give up meat forever. The main objective is to break the habit of having meat at nearly every meal, which is basically the diet both of us and most people we know grew up on. "Vegetarian-ish" is just us making all our meals without meat and looking for veggie options when we're go out to eat. But we'll cheat and eat meat, usually if we're out with friends and there's not a decent vegetarian option on the menu. In the few weeks we've only cheated a couple of times and then we went with fish.

That's a whole different take on using sex to "sell" a point of view...
I thought it was funny, and an edgy approach at selling PETA. Only read the first page of comments- my take is the ones that doth protest are the ones who have to play Enya softly while gently having a heavy petting session, or lesbian sex- not good old caveman style hetero bumpin' uglies...
On a different topic, I was at the grocery yesterday, picking up stuff for burgers- I've trained myself to look for WHERE the beef came from, as it often comes from both Mexico and Canada now... noticed that the cuts labeled "Angus", ostensibly 100% USA sourced, were almost twice the cost of any Mexican cut, and I have to say, the Mexican beef had a brighter color than the Angus. I do realize that the "appealing" color can be achieved by shady means- this is the main reason I avoid it.
There happened to be a butcher out there, stocking up the cooler- I quizzed him about all this. He said that the USDA still had to sign off on any imported meat, and that the Mexican stuff simply flies out of the cooler... then we started talking about fish as well.
FWIW, we can now go buy what's called "Swai" and cook it up for dinner. I've got some in my freezer at this writing. First time around, I cooked it on the grill, and it turned out very nicely- the fish looks great to start, and with some simple seasoning and careful grilling, it is very tasty! After dinner, I got curious as to what kind of fish Swai is, googled it... I'll be danged if it aint "Iridesdcent Shark"!
Turns out that US catfish producers lobbied to pass a law that prohibits anything but "traditional" catfish to be sold as catfish... the "shark" is actually a species of catfish indigenous to Vietnam...
I used to keep Iridescent Sharks in aquariums when I was young...

Different types of vegans have different styles. Theres a sub group of Hinduism, who's name escapes me right night, who eat only the bare amount of vegetables to sustain life as the death of animals and vegetables accumulate towards negative kharma. These are the ones who sweep in front of themselves as they walk to avoid stepping on insects...
I lived as a vegatarian for about two years since my fiance was one. It wasn't bad. There are lots of alternatives out there to meat. I never felt deprived... Until I had that first rare steak after out breakup!

They wanted that law because the two fish are not the same species, even though they have the same name. It confuses the consumer. I would also shy away from the 'catfish' from China. They're raised in some pretty polluted water.

And don't even get me going about Chinese crawfish being sold in South Louisiana - there is just something wrong about that.... (not to mention where they come from, and I mean how they are raised, not Country of Origin)

Real nice tasting Green Pepper Sandwich:
Take one green pepper and slice the 4 sides,.. saute in olive oil, (or canola) and a slight dash of sea-salt until cooked but still has some crisp to it. On a toasted kaiser roll, spread one teaspoon of your favorite mayo (just for flavor) then put one slice of american cheese (or other similar cheese, but not cheddar) on the bottom half of the toasted roll, place the cooked (and still green) green peppers then top it with one more piece of cheese if desired, place the top roll on and dig in. I made it for the first time in like... 1980 something. Still make it exact same way.

I have no problem with people who are consenting adults choosing to be vegan or vegetarian, but I have zero respect for PETA. They are hardly a commendable organization. The propaganda they project on kids is unacceptable in my book.
Personally I will never give up my natural, omnivorous life style. I do acquire as much of it as possible from local producers, including from my own gardens, rifles and rods.
I gotta go to this place. Hope the fries are good. ( Fries are veggies, right? )
I do try not to eat anything bigger than my head at one sitting.
I love the morbid sense of humor involved. on their site one comment was "this sh&ts not funny anymore is it?" Well sir, Yes, yes it still is. Go eat your tofu, and let us enjoy something with "12 rashes of bacon", served by naughty nurses. What more can you ask?
