BB- Long day ahead tomorrow and little spare time and like Jerry said, Wytheville is closer for us - but we believe pretty strongly in this cause - a blast run to K-Vegas? D
Seems the OP's video is a new one but from some other internet searching this reared it's head between Jan. and March of 2010, between online articles and posted news media videos.
Maybe I'll take the wife out for a coffee.
Speaking of drawing a lot of attention to yourself; our recently retired chief of police and I were talking one day and the open carry came up in discussion. I don't remember the particulars of it (it was still while he was chief) only him telling me he can't go into Long Johns without some woman exclaiming, "IS THAT A GUN!"? I'm sure it's not always a woman, those were his words. But crap, a freaking CHIEF of police? If anyone should have one it would be him. People don't use much common sense anymore.
...can you imagine that back in the ole West days....."Is that a gun?"....Some people....hey remember the ole west,people?..."Hello,McFly!!!!"Doesn't bother me in the slightest. If any,i'm curious as to what type the person is carrying and how they like the ergonomics, how it shoots, etc.
While passing through Pendleton, Oregon with a couple of other riders one day a few years ago, I was pulled over by a city police officer. He told me that the reason he pulled me over was to ask me to conceal my 44 magnum. He explained that he thought it would avoid any problems with the locals. He was not concerned about any permits or even my drivers licence. All he was concerned about was my welfare because he knew his friendly little town and it's inhabitants.
I learned a lesson that day that seems so simple now, though I had never thought of it from that perspective previously. These days, I always carry concealed.
Why I No Longer Hate Starbucks by Jason Hanson, 01/31/2012
I am not a trendy person. I hate anything that’s trendy and that used to include Starbucks. I’ve probably been their less than five times in my life and that was when my wife or a friend would drag me there.
First, I don’t drink coffee. Second, I could never figure out why it was necessary to sit in there with your laptop forever. Don’t people have anything better to do than pretend they’re being cool drinking some trendy drink with a silly name? Apparently not.
However, now I like Starbucks a little better. In fact, since I’m the world’s most romantic guy I will now be taking my wife to Starbucks on Valentine’s Day along with giving her the box of ammo she has always wanted.
So why am I going to Starbucks on Valentine’s Day?
Well, you may remember awhile back when people were open carrying in Starbucks and the liberals thought it was horrible, and as usual complained to Starbucks and said they needed to have an establishment where no firearms were allowed.
Starbucks response was very logical and impressive. In short, Starbucks said they were not getting involved with the situation and would simply follow what state law allowed. In other words, since you can open carry and concealed carry a gun in Virginia and other states, you can carry a gun in Starbucks in these states. But if you live in a state like California, or New Jersey, or Maryland, then you won’t be carrying a gun in Starbucks.
Of course…
This logical response did not sit well with the anti-gun radicals who have now planned a boycott for Starbucks on February 14th. However, some smart gun owners have decided that they’re all going to make sure and visit Starbucks on the 14th to support them.
I plan to be one of these gun owners, and my wife and I will have our hot chocolates, which will actually be worth every penny. I hope you’ll join me, especially if you’re someone like me who almost never visited Starbucks in the past.
Also, please take a good look at how Starbucks is not caving to “bullies” or societal pressure. I hope you do the same when you hear your friends or family talk negative about gun ownership. Don’t be afraid to share your mind and certainly don’t ever let them convince you that you don’t need a gun.
After all, when the stuff hits the fan one of these days, they’ll be running to your house begging to be protected by you, and they’ll be apologizing profusely about how wrong they were to think they didn’t need a gun and that nothing bad would ever happen to them.
Now, whether you open your door to these folks is up to you… but I’ve already been informed by my wife that since they’re family, I’ve got to let them in.

Oddly myself, my wife and one of our son's are all going to get our carry permits on the 14th. Guess we will have to find a starbucks to stop at on the way home.
I have started to think seriously about getting a handgun and carrying concealed with a permit... but I do NOT want to have to tell every cop I get pulled over by that I have a gun on me... some of them seem trigger happy enough already.
Char, I know what your saying. In the past it has mostly worked for me just to hand the permit over with he lic. if I get stopped but ...
I'm getting my GA carry permit because of what happened to my son this summer. Not sure if it would have helped had he had a carry permit but I'm hoping it would have helped some.
My son is going to work one morning and gets stopped for .. DWB ( figure it out, I'm not going to explain it ) .. have him stopped for 3 hours on the side of the road .. in cuffs. All because he has, fully legal sig .40 in the car and he he makes this clear when he get's pulled over. ( for not doing anything other than DWB )
Am doing my part as we speak. Carrying concealed. Will need more time before being comfortable carrying open. Non-event here at the local Starbucks, but just as well. They still got a handful of $2.00 bills from me. God bless America and people willing to stand up for their rights.

I got a chance to talk to two of the young gals behind the counter at SBUX. They didn't know about "I Love Guns and Starbucks" day but were very interested and happy to express their support. They both carry (not at work), and fully support open carry. I explained that many of the folks doing business with Starbucks today would be paying with $2 bills, to signify their support for the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution, the right to...
One of the gals interrupted. "The right to bear arms!" she said with a smile.
That was VERY encouraging, that these two pups, probably early 20's, both knew about and cared about the Constitution, and were both pro gun rights.
Good stuff.
Thank you Starbucks for having some backbone. America's "leaders" could learn a lesson from you.

I met my lovely bride for my first EVER visit to Starbucks today. She was there first and laid down her $2 bills. We had a nice visit and a good cup of plain old black coffee (well, I did, she puts stuff in hers). We had our coffee, never got the chance to talk to anybody but they showed no signs of boycott. I had to park next door. Neither one of us shot ANYBODY!
Being there reminded me of driving by when it was being built. It's in front of a sort of branch hospital/quick care place. It was far enough along to tell it had a drive through. Becky asked me if I knew what that was going to be. My lips were moving before she had the question all the way out, which sometimes means I'm LYIN'! I told her it was a drive through flu shot clinic. She thought that was pretty neat until they put up their sign. She never did think that was as funny as I did, of course, I don't know how many people she had told what it was going to be.
It was an open carry fest here in North Georgia. According to where you go of course, open carry isn't that big a deal around here, but today I've not seen so many guns in one store before, even at the range! I think it was a big success around here, I hope Starbucks saw no dip in sales, and uptick would be extra nice. Thanks Jerry for bringing this to attention.
