Huh. When gas prices go up under a republican president, it's a conspiracy and oil and gas CEOs are called to testify before Congress.

Pretty much crickets from the usual suspects now.

It can work if the price of gas gets high enough. Take the navy for example. We bought bio fuel for our ships at $16 per gallon vs. $3-something for conventional fuel. guess where that fuel is made? Here in the states by a company helped along with stimulous money as well. So were helping the environment and putting mericans to werk. Sure its like four times more expensive but we are using too much to begin with.

We can help the enviroment and our economy by using less and paying more. Put that eating out money or that valentines day present money into $8 dollar per gallon gas and you most likely wont waste it driving around polluting up the place just to shop or visit friends etc.

Fundamental change is our destiny.

Yes, I see it now. My thinking about this has been really uptight.

Fortunately I've been adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.

The U.S. Air Force took a B-52 and converted it to bio-fuel. ( makes sense, with 8 engines you have a good shot at making it back if a few stop ) Made it work too....

Then the Greenies put the kibosh on the project because the bio jet fuel, put out more carbon dioxide than the fossil fuel version.

Seriously.

So we can destroy a civilization with nuclear fire, but not with green energy, because it will cause Global Warming.

I often said, for years,

IF you believe this stuff, you can't LET 2 billion Chinese have SUV's. ( Greenies are real big on not letting people do stuff )

Since the result of a mass Nuclear strike on cities was supposed to be Nuclear Winter ( supposed to... since moved to not proven/doubtful status with certainty that it was faked for political reaasons )

AND..... China would never alter it's path into the Future with more Coal plants and a growing middle class ( or evil consumers by Greenie eyes )

THEN the only way to stop the "Global Warming" was "Nuclear Winter"?

( those not in on of the cults now know both are frauds, but I really torque off greenies with that statement. )

I decline comment. At this time.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/9064926/R oman-Catholic-leaders-criticise-Barack-Obama-over- healthcare.html

I have mixed feelings on this one. On the one hand, I disagree with the Church's position on Birth Control even though I understand the reasoning behind it.

On the other hand, requiring by law a religious institution to provide drugs for the purpose of killing a baby in violation of long established principles and religious law, is a clear violation of the separation of Church and State.

This is a clear and deliberate attack on an institution that, like it or not, provides a massive amount of charity aid to people not paid for by the Government, or it's taxpayers Heard today that near 50% of free meals for the poor and handicapped, to the tune of tens of millions, and a huge part of the total health care system, in the Philadelphia area alone, come from the Catholic Church's charities.

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/archbishop-us-troo ps-obamacare-reg-blow-freedomfor-which-you-have-se en-your-buddies

It seems the God of this admin is a jealous God and can tolerate no others.

Cutting tax deduction for charity concentrates the illusion of charity in the hands of the elite rulers.

Even better to cut away Christian Churches, who have been doing Charity for a thousand years before the State became the New God.

"We can help the environment and our economy by using less and paying more. Put that eating out money or that valentines day present money into $8 dollar per gallon gas and you most likely wont waste it driving around polluting up the place just to shop or visit friends etc. "

This is a funny sentiment. Can you imagine what everyday necessities are going to cost at $8/gal? How much does it cost to save the environment? Now when the masses are struggling to put bare essentials on the table just for survival how much extra is going to be available to support your green utopia? When our economy tanks guess what is going to be kicked way, way down the priority ladder? $8/gal will save neither the environment, nor the economy, but will destroy both to differing degrees.

Conservation is necessary, but I think anyone advocating artificially inflating energy prices to silly levels to "save the environment" are not in visual range of the big picture........ Unless anarchy and a massive population reduction are part of the "plan".

I am always amused reading posts about the massive reductions we Americans need to take in using energy and consumables on a message board praising 1000 mile IB rides, taming the Dragon and other equally silly pursuits revolving around a recreational activity. Not to mention the amount of energy and time wasted just visiting and posting on such sites.....

....it's still a free country for now. To each their own.

There are 2 factors in the desire for high cost energy. ( on the part of the Sec. Energy & many other groups )

1. At present, any renewable replacement for gas & diesel, costs more than the "normal" market price of fossil fuels. To encourage the development of "green gasoline" you have to make it competitive...... By taxing, creating artificial scarcity, etc.

Problem is....The People must be led to the promised land of Central Planning, Our Workers Paradise. By a self appointed elite who just understands better what's good for you in charge.

2. There is a rationalizing ( not rational ) ethic involved in wanting people to be content with less and more friendly to the Earth... with some excellent reasons and the very best of intentions.... Very groovy and idealistic, and not all wrong.

Problem is....The People must be led to the promised land of Natural Harmony and Co-existance. By a self appointed elite who just understands better what's good for you in charge.

Uh. Actually I guess it's the same reason......

Ulyranger when gas does go up to levels that high hopefully we still have a president that will understand our needs and implement some sort of card we can use to get the basics we need to survive. Times are going to get tough but changing old ways is never easy.

We could start by banning all movies, concerts, symphonies, etc. Look at all the fuel that would be saved by not driving to them.

Oh, that's right, the greenies support those activities.

Its not that certain activities are bad but when you enter a collective its everyones responsability to not use more than their fair share. I put my full faith in higher institutions to determine what our fair share is and set limits on wasteful and harmful activities.

"wasteful and harmful activities" ...like ripping across the countryside on a motorcycle for pure pleasure?

I for one don't put my full faith in the "higher institutions" to determine what's best for the huddled masses, because it will not be equal nor what's best for all I assure you. These are Washington D.C. elites of which you speak and your/my rations will not apply to them. These "higher institutions" will listen to who pays the most, like Solendra, GE, etc... It'll still be business as usual, same players & payers.

Good idea. Then we can convert all the stadiums and concert halls into execution arenas. We're going to need the room when the revolution comes. Lets look to our friends in the middle east for inspiration.

Ship all prisoners overseas to China - off shore em; let them enjoy some real hard time - turn the prisons over to Greenies that want houses, medical, and college, and internet.... keep the fences and barb wire - I am betting we come out ahead in cost vs outlay of social monies....

And if you are on section 8 housing... your new digs are now in 6x8 units.

and this is why they will never put me in charge of anything ....

Yes, the Progs will love the East European style depressing gray Central Planning high rise blocks without working elevators, pee in the stairwells, but cheap rent when they get their Progtopia. And remember to remove the windshield wipers from your Eco car when you park, as those are "communal" property to the petty thieves. It's guaranteed in their Progtopia constitution.

Occupy McNeil Island!

Just a reminder. When fuel prices reach the point that farming is no longer profitable, expect famine. We feed the planet. ( the reason food to fuel idiocy has led to revolution. See Egypt, etc. )

City, I'm sure you are just being paranoid. After all, now that Gitmo has been closed, the cost of health care had been cut, and the cost of regulation slashed, so that our economy has recovered well before the 18 months predicted by economists all as the One has promised, there are no need for such fears.... ( note, none of the above has actually happened...so maybe City is right )

standard economic cycle has always been 7-10 years since 21 when they started tracking it - a good war will throw it off, but the rebound is damn well predictable.
THIS recession should end in 2016..... but they will monkey with the currency, nationalize industry, assets, and private holdings... and you are all f*cked for another 5-7.
It clicks to revolution, if you stand on your toes you can see it over the horizon.
