Just got done listening to WDVX's "Blue Plate Special", their daily lunchtime live radio broadcast- today's musician was a DAMN fine picker- Jim Hurst. Apparently he's also a guitar/banjo teacher, travels all over...

OK, cool Grumps! Slaughter had tried to explain, me no grok so good.
I know you're over the pond- have you ever tried Webstreaming WDVX? If you do, you'll be listening to what I listen to much of the time I'm home during the day- "East Tennessee's Own", plus they're listener supported public radio, no commercials, and to a person, all good peeps!
Good to hear that, Grumps- WDVX has been a great gift to everyone who loves bluegrass, americana, TRUE country (not Nashville pop), a fair amount of "bedrock" rock, and lots of good blues. They've turned me on to countless new stuff, I"ve gotten to know personally many of the key staff, won tix to lots of shows (including many hosted by the Shed at Smoky Mountain HD)- and if I care to, a 20 mile drive will take me to a live Blue Plate any day at noon!
I regularly contribute when they have fundraisers- I consider them a priceless treasure here in Knoxvegas!
I remember singing this in my helmet as Oz & I were riding past Knoxville in pouring rain in '05. Now every time I hear it, it takes me back to that trip.
Oh yeah- wherever you're at, you can send in email song requests- they're great about working in almost any obscure tune you can think of. Their music library is HUGE.
Red Fang... 3 things I thought was hilarious.. the dude on street getting his hat blown off,... The dude that catches the plane, and the happy(sad)face watch... lol
