You've misinterpreted. G-d very much likes figs. It was the tree that was barren of figs that irritated him. : )

Nor does G-d hate fags. It is the homosexual acts that run contrary to his will/nature.

The big question is "what is G-d's true nature."

Unsurpassable goodness?

>>> It was supposed to be funny.

I knew that. In exposing the ignorance and hatefulness of the Westboro blasphemers, it surely is funny. We should laugh at such fools. It's an excellent illustration of the very same type of twisted reasoning that they employ.

>>> I don't subscribe to a God of Hate in any way shape or form.

I'm not sure what you mean. Ought G-d not detest (be averse to) evil, injustice, and immorality?

If G-d exists, wouldn't seeking out his nature and his will be among the most noble of endeavors?

I don't believe in a God that hates in any way shape or form.

I thought that was clear.

Maybe that is hard for you to filter... but I do not project the anthropomorphic emotion of "hate" onto the flow of life, the energy of the universe or the simple natural law of karma.

That would be something like attributing the value of "red" from a red apple to the force of gravity... as in drawing a corrolary to the red apples falling from the tree being one of the impetuses for forming the theory of gravity...

Or more simply put, I do not believe in a god created in mans image. That kind of thinking in my opinion surely limits what should be the largest power in the universe.

I do not think that dualism and negative energy in any way promotes spiritual growth of anyone.

I am sorry that you feel that way Blake.

Any divine force in the universe I may have experienced consists of love, peace and tolerance... it does not consist of animosity, judgement or condemnation.

I am not afraid to die.

I do not cower in fear of what may happen to my eternal soul after my body ceases to play out its usefullness in a physical form.

I believe in simple laws of cause and reaction... the simple natural law of karma and the simple act of putting out there what you would hope in return would be returned to you if you were down and out.

I do not demonize poor people, sick people, delusional people, or psychotic people. I do not promote the ideology that because someone is different than me they are automatically a threat.

No, I do not subscribe to a god of hate.

That being said, I thought the photo I posted was hysterically funny. The mentality of the WBC makes the mentality of children who believe in the Easter Bunny seem reasonable.

That is all.

No debate here about what you should believe, either. That is your right.

I do not believe in a god of hate.

"A G-d of hate"?

To say that something is "of hate" asserts that it's essence and motivation are defined by hate. It's a convenient way to avoid discussion I suppose, but it certainly doesn't reflect honestly how most theists understand the nature of a personal G-d, meaning a being, the creator of the universe. On the contrary, we understand G-d as unsurpassable good.

If such a G-d exists, he surely loves you no matter what, even if you deny him, and if he exists, whether or not we might subscribe to his existence won't change the truth.

>>> I do not believe in a god created in man's image. That kind of thinking in my opinion surely limits what should be the largest power in the universe.

I agree! The idea is utterly absurd. If that is your understanding of Christianity, it's an inaccurate one, though understandably even many so-called Christians might lead one to such an impression. It's beyond ridiculous to imagine the creator of the universe and time itself as some kind of old man in the sky.

I think what you are affirming is pantheism, G-d as everything, but not in any way personal in nature. Is that any different from naturalism?

What kind of "energy" are you projecting towards the Westboro people?

What kind of energy is involved in mocking Christian scripture?

Your actions don't live up to your claims.

>>> I do not demonize poor people, sick people, delusional people, or psychotic people. I do not promote the ideology that because someone is different than me they are automatically a threat.

Your apparent mischaracterizations of those with whom you disagree reveal deep resentment, even disdain, certainly not tolerance.

Those seem to be severe contradictions to the claims you make. Are you tolerant or not?

>>> I do not think that dualism and negative energy in any way promotes spiritual growth of anyone.

Any isms rarely do. Negativity surely doesn't. I' convinced that truth however absolutely does.

>>> I am sorry that you feel that way Blake.

What way??? : ?

>>> Any divine force in the universe I may have experienced consists of love, peace and tolerance... it does not consist of animosity, judgement or condemnation.

Same here. That said, evil exists. Destructive behavior exists. Truth exists. Thoughtfully opposing that which serves evil or is counter to good is entirely honorable and good. Opposing bigotry and championing tolerance for instance.

>>> I am not afraid to die.

D'uh! : D I think that's obvious and commendable. Few women are as brave as you. You live life and know what is important, not stuff, but rather other people.

>>> I do not cower in fear of what may happen to my eternal soul after my body ceases to play out its usefullness in a physical form.

But surely you wonder, no?

>>> I believe in simple laws of cause and reaction... the simple natural law of karma

Karma is a law? What is that law?

>>> and the simple act of putting out there what you would hope in return would be returned to you if you were down and out.

I agree. Treat others as you would be treated. "Be excellent to each other!" For sure! Does that embody forcing others to "put out there" according to some arbiter of what is proper? Or is freely chosen charity preferable?

>>> No, I do not subscribe to a god of hate.

I personally don't know anyone who does. From who do you imagine you are distinguishing yourself? Al Qaeda?

>>> The mentality of the WBC makes the mentality of children who believe in the Easter Bunny seem reasonable.

Sharing positive energy?

Ah, Blake, I am not really sure why you need to go on the offensive.

What I believe is what I believe. Contrary to your depiction of me I hold malice toward no one.

Obviously if someone does not share your beliefs you are deeply offended by that.

I don't believe in a God that hates in any way shape or form.

I believe Blake and others are saying they dont either. I dont know where you got the god that hates part from, something twisted apparently.

Or more simply put, I do not believe in a god created in mans image. That kind of thinking in my opinion surely limits what should be the largest power in the universe.

Who is to say its a god created in mans image, as to most it would be God created man in his image. Not the other way around.

You continually write about a god of hate, what do you speak of? I think a read through the new testament, open minded, might change your thoughts since im not sure you are speaking of God from the holy bible.

The God of Hate comes from WBC.

Why is everyone taking it as a personal attack on their own beliefs?

I was referring to WBC.

I was ridiculing WBC.

I have never seen such an oversensitive bunch if people.

I post something about WBC and everyone thinks I am picking on them personally.

WTF people.

You all are starting to sound like a bunch of school kids.

The post was meant to be funny.

Its like, well my god is bigger than your god so I can kick sand in your face.

There is a good metaphor in zen practice called the koan. The entire point is a riddle you don't understand.

When you "get it" you have a good laugh at yourself. Somehow that has been lost on many here.

If I post something for the sole
purpose of pissing off the Badweb moral majority it sure as hell will be far more creative than that.
