Why not still be a Jew? Jesus was a Jew. As a marketing ploy, the name "Jews For Jesus" is great. It's alliterative, blatant, controversial, all the good stuff that gets people talking.
Even more important, Jesus was a rebel. He spoke out against the corruption of the church, and engaged in some street theater and non violent protest along with preaching love and understanding.
Overturning the tables of the moneychangers is something to get you arrested then, and now. ( although, politics.... Watching Occupiers smash windows at the Temples of Mammon ( Bank of America, etc. ) while being paid by a Moneychanger ( Soros ) to gain said moneychanger more wealth..... Not the same at ALL as Jesus, don't you think? There are some who would have you believe so. )
Marx is a jealous god, and can bear no others. It is one of 2 1/2 faiths in the world today where to lie is to be blessed, if it furthers the holy goal.
Marxism is the crack of the masses. I think Marx was a first rate organizer, but second rate mind. ( which reminds me of a contemporary fellow.... hmmm. ) He stole most of the basis for his writings, much from early communal Christian teachings, while filing off the serial numbers to make it his own. This is rather common in economics and Philosophy.
In the Centuries between the Greeks and the Moderns in the late 19th & early 20th centuries, pretty much every harebrained explanation for life or money had been done. ( just as eventually every possible combination of notes will have been published as music ) So I guess it's natural for hacks to steal and claim originality. ( same goes for religion, which I separate from philosophy... perhaps wrongly. )
Any way, Marx was wrong, dead wrong, and worse. His religion has led to more deaths than any other. ( a statistical inevitability since modern western capitalist medicine has led to more people on the planet to be murdered than ever before. Sad, that. ) I suppose there will be some evil cult that murders even more in the future, based on population growth.... darn.
"Jew" is a birth designation as much as religious description.
One is born a Jew but may not actually follow ANY Jewish customs or even believe in God. There are Jewish athiests.
Paul actually addressed this issue. The Judaizers were a group of early Christians in Galilee who believed that in order for Gentiles (non-Jews) to become Christians they must first become Jews (through circumcision and the following of Mosaic Laws) before becoming Christian.
Paul directly challenged this idea:
" 14 When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?"
Galatians 2:14
In essence, Peter (Cephas), through the permanent sacrifice of Jesus, was released from the observation of the Jewish sacrificial requirements. He was no longer following the customs and laws required of being a Jew. He was, though, requiring Gentiles to observe these customs and laws BEFORE becoming a Christian.

I really am surprised Soros puts up with him at all - Having read Soros' works, he is a staunch capitalist, with social networking tendancies for advancing capital (how could you be a hedgefund manager and not understand distributive risk, and individualisted gains ?...)
