I enjoyed that very much (though with the usual envy).
Thanks Dave!

Great review Dave...

I really enjoyed the vids on the Street vs Road glide. I had pretty well swore off HD's for rest of my natural life. I have trouble with the whole "lifestyle" that HD presents in their "Boutique Dealers". I can't say I would have revisited an HD dealer again until I saw your review of those two bikes. Currently, I own a KLR and a ST1300, but I do miss the longer profile of the chassis that the SG/RG sit on. I have ridden both previous incarnations of these bike prior to the rubber mounted 103 motors and enjoyed them then. You painted a good picture of both the bikes, but it leaves me with one question....

Which bike would it be for a rider who enjoys running down the highway at 80mph for hours on end to get to the twisty roads. Then likes to ride aggressively through those twisty bits all day and then cruise hours on end to get home.

I'm thinking the Roadglide, what say you?

Cheers - I think it depends on your definition of aggressive. They both have foot boards, which is something of a limitation for serious twisty work, but for such big, heavy units their handling really is pretty good.

Yeah - The weight of the fairing supported on the frame seems to give the road glide an edge.

Buell Ulysses FTW! :-)

Dave,
I just watched your review on the street glide and enjoyed it very much. I then clicked on the Victory Cross Country and the video said it was private?????? I was kinda of hoping to watch them back to back.

I have a friend (blackbelt on badweb) who is having back issues and will soon be looking for a forward control bike. I have ridden the Cross Country and enjoyed the way it handled for a big bike. I also suggested that Blackbelt ride a Sprint GT and BWM K bike to see if the position was better for his back problem.

Although I am not a regular subscriber I really enjoy your reviews when I catch them.

Any words of wisdom for BlackBelt greatly appreciated!

Sorry about that - I've actually deleted it - very low quality (old pre HD camera) and I got sick of the haters - hating on Victory. You Tube can be an ugly place.

Wasn't actually a review anyway - mostly just low qual onboard footage.

I really liked the bike - although I did prefer the naked Cross Roads - I got pretty bad wind buffeting off the bodywork on the 'Country' - but that is more about my height than most would get.
Very tidy handling and road manners - They are a very heavy unit for manhandling though?

Sprint is a lean forward semi crouch riding position.

The BMW's are very upright and my guess would be the best for a dodgy back - depending which K of course.

You could throw a Kawasaki Concours 1400 in the mix maybe - upright and relatively light.

Nice.

I like the pic of the V7 Racer. In Seattle last summer, the Guzzi dealer had one on the floor, told me he described it to people with the term I came up with when, 20 years ago, he wired up my $400 MG Convert into a LeMans with my parts collection and an endurance fairing from England: "A sheep in wolf's clothin."

You have a really tough job. Happy New Year down under and cheers!
