A bit of interesting background on the following song, "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" written By Ralph Blaine and Hugh Martin for the 1944 film "Meet Me In St. Louis" directed by Vincente Minnelli and starring Judy Garland (they married a year later). The original version was considered too depressing so Martin was persuaded to do a rewrite. Here's Judy Garland singing that rewritten version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g4lY8Y3eoo In 1957 Frank Sinatra asked Hugh Martin for another rewrite so Frank's Christmas album "A Jolly Christmas" would in fact be more jolly. This is the version most recorded by gazillions of musicians.
