Had one for a summer. Nice bike, was a 2007 model (paid 3K for it with 300 miles on the odo). Put a pipe on it and re-jetted the carb. Was a very decent running bike, but was hard to start if it sat for more than a few weeks, evidently a common issue with this motor, stock or modified. Tall seat height, might be a bit too tall for your girlfriend if she's not at least 5-10 or so. Ran very well off-road, too narrow of a seat for me, didn't ride it a lot as a result. |

take a look at the super moto version ;') lower seat height, and not something you will trade out of for boredom |

That's weird. My first street-legal bike was a 1989 KLR250. It would be nearly impossible to start after it was left alone for a month. It felt like a valve was sticking open or something. No resistance at all. Less than the normal decompression. After about 40-50 kicks (I was 17!) it would feel "real" and then start after three more kicks. I wore that poor thing out Sold it to a junkyard for $400 after 28,000 miles. |

Hard starting seems to be a Kawasaki trait, all the ones ive had seem to be cold natured. |
