Case in point - here's the one I moved into its new home today. I see potential - I've owned it for 21 years; I ran consistent low 13's with it in college AND drove it from MD to Key West for countless vacation trips, the floors are solid as a rock, the glass and trim are all good, and despite the POS Holley puddle-dumper carb (soon to be replaced with an Edelbrock Performer), the old 360 actually runs pretty damned good (and sounds AWESOME through the 3" duals!), considering today was the first time it's seen daylight in about eight years. An HOA? Would see NONE of that. They'd see a dirty, ratty clunker that deserves to be scrapped.

Yeah. Coolant overflow...well...overflowed. I'm headed back tomorrow with some kitty litter and a tarp. Might as well try and keep the floor clean for a couple hours lol |

Rat, WOW, just WOW. Humm, you could start a side business repairing Buells in the upper bay alone. We can pay you in cash or labor. Did the original owner make a dog house for the compressor to the right of the garage or is that a pretty entry way? How long before you start collecting the case machining tools for doing big bores? I have the original motor to my Blast that is begging to become a 600. |

It's an entryway. No compressor (yet) - he was a woodworker/contractor, so any oil on the ground in there is my fault Can't decide if I want to get it coated or not - $8/SF is a bit pricey - $5600 just to do the top bay where I plan to do work (the lower bay will just be parking, no clutter, no crap). We'll see, when it comes to fixing bikes. I need to get moved/settled first, but definitely something I've considered. |

My dad did the self epoxy floor in his garage when it was brand new, and it has held up decently. I think he parked on it to soon because there are a few spots that the tires peeled up ( you can see the tread pattern). Every where else it is fine and it hasn't peeled up since. And it is easier to sweep up and get oil off the floor. Making sure the floor is perfectly clean and etched with the acid they give you is the key to making it stick. |

"...the top bay where I plan to do work (the lower bay will just be parking, no clutter, no crap)." No, no, no ! ! ! The upper part needs to be the Buell "lounge" where weary Buellers can conjugate, twist wrenches, watch the big screen T.V. and enjoy a beer or two from the "keg"erator after a long day's ride. . . (J/K, of course, jealousy is a bad vice...) |

Rat - Funny, I accidentally took your advise about a beater in front of the house. My '94 Dakota V8 with 308,000 miles lost the fuel pump before reaching home last Friday night and had to tow her in. Dropped her directly in front of the house, you can't miss it. Haven't had a chance to work on her so she's been up front and center all week. The HOA board got a good look at her on their visit and I did mention how much better another garage would look than four outside cars, a dog kennel, and septic tank risers. They agreed but they've got jelly backbones right now. Hired an architect yesterday for a couple reasons, the structure has gotten more complicated, he has some very good ideas, and he's the resent past retired mayor of our little burg. Let the games begin. (Message edited by whistler on December 30, 2011) |

That's what the unfinished apartment-type-space is, above the lower garage. Still have workspace in the upper garage bay...and room to chill inside the rest of the building. Once I decide how I want to finish it, that is. Whitetrash - dem's some NIICE old Mopars. WOW. Can't wait till my wagon is looking that good (it's the same color as the green ...Satellite? Road Runner? Can't see any badging, but VERY nice looking cars. |
