I, for one, am entertained.
I consider it kind of a hobby. An educational hobby. It started with some friends and family that would toss out the zingers and run from the discussion as soon as you start to bring facts into the discussion. I really wanted to understand where they were coming from though.
One thing I have found consistently is that liberalism is founded on dishonesty. That isn't to say that all liberals are dishonest, but they have bought into ideas that have been promoted through dishonesty. It's very appealing because it is based on emotional decision making that makes you feel that you are doing good. The problem is that almost all of it is based on falsehoods. The occupiers are a great example of this. They are caught up in the emotion of "doing something" without having a clue as to the actual consequences of their actions. No doubt most are good people, just stupid.

Xdigital- yes, IMHO "Being John Malkovich" is a good movie, with some hilarious bits liberally ( ) strewn throughout... it IS quite weird, and in my family I've got a reputation for picking creme de la weird movies.
I do, however, like all the actors in it, especially Malkovich and Cusack... I'd recommend it, as long as you dig strange, quirky comedy and pathos.
...there are more than a few "ripe vessels" here on BW, BTW...

I loved the original "The Muppet Movie" where the hippie muppets were going to form a company and "be mellow and profitable". That is classic. Unfortunately, the new "Muppet Movie" has very little new and is mostly a rehash of its past with Kermie singing "The Rainbow Connection". I recall there were some anti-business digs but who cares.... this is the Muppets.
Quickboard is a place to hurl respectful spew. As such, it is entertaining and actually informative at times. If the spew ain't respectful, then those hurlers are usually shown the door but this has only happened to a small handful of kooks.

I think some of here just like to argue. The high cost of energy which is endorsed by the president and benefits a segment of our congress who is vested in green energy is completely normal and awesome. The job market as well is fine so much so that the president has time to come up and institute a plan to reward countries based on how they perceive homosexuality. Additionally my cost to give my family health care coverage has risen to a lexus payment each month(thanks BO) while I pay taxes to support a family member who lives in a 2 bedroom trailer and just had her third kid. She will never thank you or I for paying for her baby making expenses. Oh well at least the dollar is still strong.

Oh, and alot of the above is a direct result of the media, actors and musicians fervent push for this type of leadership. Thanks matt damon, oprah and others. I cant wait for the next feel good hollywood movie pushing social awarenss and green living brought to you by GE or another startup company with democrat shareholders.

Wow, that's rough.
I'm lucky enough to be employed with a company that pays most of the medical for my family. I pay $15 a week for the major medical for 5 people, and another $40 per week on AFLAC.

Hmmm, X- your ideas of "dark comedy" are pretty dark, but those are great movies...
"REDRUUUM!!"
Give "Malkovich" a try, be prepared for a max dose of madness- otherwise, get on Netflix and rent "Winnebago Man", a documentary, totally different, but awesome!
"Grosse Point Blank" is a good Cusack dark comedy, with the great Dan Akroyd even...
Back OT: Having given it a lot of thought since this news broke, I still find it absolutely LUDICROUS that Fox commentators find such insidious, un-American, corrputing and evil influences in Jim Henson's Muppets.
Over the years since Sesame Street has been on the air, millions and millions of kids worldwide have benefited from the program, yes, despite it being on the EVIL PBS network... and let's not forget that the parents also benefited as their kids were helped along in their development, as they may not have had the luxury of being as "hands-on" with their education as any good parent would want to be.
There ARE other ways of looking at the world besides what the popular media, call it liberal OR conservative, would have us believe.
In MY book, and in MY experience, the Muppets are sheer genius, truly one of the best things to ever appear in American pop culture. I feel strongly that I share this opinion with the majority.
(Obviously NOT the "Moral Majority"...)
You may now resume the regularly scheduled lambasting of all non-rightist/evil viewpoints.

I couldn't agree more with you on that part. This is why they should be careful too maintain that reputation. Fox News pointing out what they did in this case isn't the problem. The problem is what they did.

If you like Cusack, not to mention Annette Bening and Anjelica Huston, have you seen "The Grifters"?
GREAT movie, I wrote a paper on it for college- stylistically, somehow they made a color movie into a "film noir"... LOTS of sharp, underhanded comedy in a film that ends as a tragedy.
Xdigital, now that I think of it, you'd REALLY like that one. Bonus: Annette Bening is HAWTTT....

Not to be a downer or any thing. How many of the kids watching SS actually have a 2 parents how many more live in poverty how many more were aborted due to a Choice? Since the Great society the poor are getting less School isnt school its a social services delivery system! The more PROGRAMS to help the results we get are the opposite.

..the Muppets are sheer genius,... Truth!
Also, Cusak fans must see "Better Off Dead" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088794/ Kim Darby as the Mom, David Ogden Stiers as the Dad..... "2 dollars!, I want my 2 dollars!" Brilliant performances, all.
