Tonight was at B&N and flipped through the SuperStreetBike magazine (I know, its really not a great mag, but its something to flip through) and they had a special section that was about the 'best used bikes under $5k'
In the list was the Buell XB12R

It said something like 'common mods' or something and mentioned pipe, intake, and jumper mod (not sure what that is, I dont have a XB)

Anyway, was surprised, and pleased, to see SSB highlight the brand.

Im pretty sure thats what it said, "jumper mod"

Maybe someone has the issue and can let me know if I am misquoting (very possible) or explain it if I am correct

I caught air several times on the XB .... she was heavy and not happy about it, but 100 hp on dirt... well things get interesting.

If I recall correctly, the jumper mod was something that tricked the exhaust valve to stay open... or maybe it was to fool the ecm into thinking there was a servo motor attached so the check engine light wouldnt come on

European Buells have a jumper that converts from street to .... I don't know "not street" mode or something.

That magazine is British, right?

If they did their research, it has got to be the headlight mod to make both bulbs come on at the same time.
If they half-assed it, they probably found the "white wire mod" for the euro bikes and didn't know any better:
