They have a ways to go to beat Mythbusters 700 mph sled into a car crash. These things have been around a long time.

When I was taking my driver's exam in 1973 they were still using pictures of early fifties cars wrecked with real human test dummies broken in to pieces, thankfully it was black and white photos..

Physics is physics, and when it's your time, it's your time.

Three years ago, for some reason, it wasn't my time. By all accounts it should have been - 2 shattered legs, broken hip, collapsed lung, lacerated liver, bruised heart, 3 broken ribs, 4 cracked vertebrae, torn rotator cuff and two closed-head brain traumae - but here I am, ornery as always, still riding, and most importantly still WALKING and TALKING.

When it's your time, it's your time. When it's not, it's not.

I'll just make the best of however much I have left. Every single day of it. And that's the only advice I have for people. I don't tell them what to do, or what not to do...just do what you love, be as careful as you can, and enjoy every single minute you have on this mudball.

And share as much of that happiness as you can, with those around you.

Rat, I live by the same philosophy.

As a Truck Driver I see these sort of things for real & I've even been involved a time or two.

The greatest risk on the road is the other guy.

Be aware, be ready, If a situation is developing in front of you, look for an escape route & take it.
Hauling on the brakes & hoping generally won't cut it.
You'll just end up piling into some other poor bastard & be next target inline for the panic-braker behind.
